@chatillion yes, and in relation to those drugs in question, there is more and more evidence that they are showing tremendous success and saving lives. You have to understand that people like Fauci always err on the side of caution. But this is not always a good thing. Fauci, if he had the choice, would not allow these drugs to be used until after extensive clinical trials. He said so much himself. It could be a year or more. Which is obviously useless to people suffering now. The drugs have been used for many years to treat and prevent other conditions. Trump is a solutions-oriented person. He looks for ways to make things better. He wants to find solutions. I think most people admire that.
I won't lie this is the first day i've started to feel really stressed. At home with the mother and father (both in their early 70's) and an 8 week old puppy who we've had just for a few days and is pretty stressed herself.
Also due back to work on Tues, i work in a care environment and it really doesn't feel right that we are 'business as usual' when our residents - who come to us for respite care usually for 1 week's stay - are by nature high risk because of compromised immune systems (some extremely so). Very messed up.
@Mic This is the most likely outcome and it's important to continue to re-emphasize it. Panic and stress are a significant contributor to ill health. It's important to take a deep breath. Follow the health guidelines, sure, but make sure to continue to invite perspective. Panic is contagious. But the good news is that positive thinking is also. We need to practice the latter to beat the former. We will get through this.
The Democrat Party - in the midst of the Corona Virus Pandemic - today went ahead with presidential primaries in a number of states. This is beyond unacceptable. This is criminal. (Many) people will almost certainly die as a result of this.
