RE: For the parents here....

And it’s a wise move for the mans world to introduce elements of Buddhism and meditation into business now that being a dull workaholic doesn’t buy you a wife. Meditation isn’t the same as having somebody love you but it is a way to keep telling you that love you. Buddhism is an answer and antidote to modern singledom and working 24/7 with no real life of your own - you are in a committed relationship with yourself therefore you don’t need other people(like the cat)

RE: For the parents here....

Under female refinement society develops Buddhism and the nature of the cat. Life’s goal is to be without one.

Under male leadership society develops the character of the dog and Confucius. Life’s journey is besides the point.

RE: I'm a conservative...

The problem with this is new money. Rare are those who moderate their own appetite in an age of plenty coming from a background of poverty. New money is prone to temptation driven by a lifelong hunger developed in childhood that doesn’t go away just because you’re now really fat.

RE: He created in his own image.

Confidence is boosted through the worship of power and at root bottom that’s what faith is. Everything happens for a reason but never on the account of reason.

RE: He created in his own image.

Jesus became the best get-out. It is to take the attention from an all-surveillance god and combine it with a neverending capacity to be forgiven. It was these people who unleashed all the material forces of the world along with a type of spiritual death.

RE: He created in his own image.

To be the centre of attention.

Religion is for people you wouldn't trust without keeping an eye on them. It's for people who would not do without being seen and up until this very day it's mostly the women besotted with the idea of seeking attention from higher powers, who are entranced by their own uniqueness etc.

RE: love

Yes if wandering from bar to bar counts as multiple dates. Of course it isn't, but it seems that way.

RE: But really, CS folks, what is it to be rich?...

Downsides to being rich are their kids, the cold family, and the profound difficulty in forming meaningful connections with other people. They are the men and women from anywhere who belong nowhere.

RE: But really, CS folks, what is it to be rich?...

$75000 a year nobody really needs or wants more than $75000 a year. I'd happily live in a society where nobody can have less than $25000 or more than $75000 a year.

RE: US Unemployment Rate Fall To 50 Year Low !!! Last Time So Low When American First Walk On Moon !!!

You have to redress the balance of the economy in a way that works for normal people. People who make money and earn money must have a share in the economy at the expense of those who already have money. It's a good economy for landlords, penionsers and others people who own shares, but a bad one for those who add value and come up with the goods.

RE: US Unemployment Rate Fall To 50 Year Low !!! Last Time So Low When American First Walk On Moon !!!

There's wage growth at the bottom and, of course, extreme wage growth at the top.

But you don't appreciate that wage growth is coming from rising minimum wages just as much as the left doesn't appreciate the human cost of raising minimum wages. What the boss will have his workers do then.

And there's another question. When pay goes up for a large class of people with no prospect of owning their own home what do the landlords do?

RE: US Unemployment Rate Fall To 50 Year Low !!! Last Time So Low When American First Walk On Moon !!!

Minimum wages and the middle class seem to be meeting in the middle. Most of the middle class is falling down onto to a rising minimum wage afforded by working ungodly and/or unpaid hours and a general decline in wokring conditions. An employee even a part-time employee has little life of his or her own - come in for your 4-hour shift that starts at 1am etc. The worker is becoming more flexible as bosses grow more ruthless and this has opened up low-end up opportunities. Workers will be paid a little more on the understanding that they never clock off, actual working hours will be kept low it's more about getting up in the middle of the night to work 45 minutes and making sure you're never paid overtime.

RE: How Trump Wins

You have a public slightly more pro-choice than it was 3 years ago under Obama. You might own the judges but this does not mean things will go swimmingly for you if you rule against the people's will. Remainers own our judges and what will happen is no respect for the law.

RE: Karma

And the envy, in the Far East theres superhuman level of resentment forced below the surface by how passive they are. And imo no luck is the reason for that. Life is life and not everything in it happens for a reason. Sometimes life just happens without making something personal about it.

RE: Karma

Karma is taking the blame or credit for everything in your life, not just the aspects of life within your control. They even go so far as to dream up previous lives so you can claim that you deserved to be born of incredibly wealthy parents.

It’s very much a belief where princes deserve to be princes because they are princes, and peasants deserve to be peasants because they are peasants. Karma is more right-wing than capitalism and personal responsibility, it’s closer to feudalism which could explain the numerous dictatorial states in the Far East and the reason Orientals follow orders without question. The only exception being Hong Kong because it’s so heavily influenced by Britain and the west.

RE: 30 Reasons Why President Trump Is Guaranteed Another Win In 2020

You might do well to sound a little more like republicans did 50 or 60 years ago.

Originally the welfare state was supported from the view that it helps people get married and establish the nuclear family. Returning to a time before capitalism was worshipped as a religion and conservatism meant something different to classic liberalism. I don’t care what people say they are we know people are not that hands off in the lower orders of society.

RE: 30 Reasons Why President Trump Is Guaranteed Another Win In 2020

It depends. Republican support is increasingly working class and the main benefactor of today’s economy in America are Democrats. It’s mostly democrats getting pay rises and promotions since Trump took office.

And that’s the point and problem for republicans. Can hardline capitalism and trickle-down economics work when your supporters are commoners? You have diminishing numbers of elite and sub-elite within the Republican movement can it afford to ignore what happens to the bottom two thirds of America? There’s a tension between the textbook economic elitism of republicans and the fact that it is increasingly proletariat.

RE: Just wondering.....

It's basically your own fault because affluence is a libertarian. For better or worse it will do everything it can to undermine what the country/society bids unless it agrees with it anyway. I think what you're doing is empowering autonomy and then flying in the face of it.

RE: Want To Be A Genius?

Intelligence compensates with the tendency to underestimate itself. It sees things as more challenging but then achieves them with less effort which is where the laziness comes from, the laziness and philosophy.

RE: English As A World Language

It's the language of business and the fact that the English language expresses life least is what makes it so broad. Although everyone speaks the same language nobody understands one another. It's a bit like the tower of Babel. Nobody can express the majesty of creation in words but English is the truly irreligious, business-like language. An emotionally depthless and spiritually dead language that spreads around the world on the understanding that there is to be no understanding. Tis not the language of subtlety.

RE: Climate ‘Experts’ Are 0-41 with Their Doomsday Predictions

They say time is money but this does not mean that time is interchangeable with money. Money will never buy back time and raising children on pure goods and zero attention will again show you the difference between time and money. Baby boomer liberal capitalists and the for-profit broken home there's only so much love of money you can do before the family unit is exhausted. You plunder the building blocks of everything at your own peril.

RE: Climate ‘Experts’ Are 0-41 with Their Doomsday Predictions

Even if the real reason to deny the problem is because you don't trust the government to respond constructively then you should say this. The environment is one of these things that's going above politics now there's absolutely nothing wrong with encouraging people to be mindful on a personal level.

RE: Climate ‘Experts’ Are 0-41 with Their Doomsday Predictions

We can see it in the congestion, the pollution and the half as many birds in the sky.

The problem is baby boomers, standards of living increasingly daily because of luck/fate has engendered hubris and narcissism in our elders which means that the world/west being so much than you found it can never be your fault. Older people today are not regarded as the most selfish generation in history for nothing.

RE: The end of the work week was hectic!

RE: Vegan...

Jazzed up cheap sausages who defeat the point in the jazzing of it. A better answer might be the traditional discipline of Lent. Give appetite a moment to calm down.

RE: Millions of Americans Are Seething — a Trump Landslide Wouldn’t Surprise Me

It depends. The middle class is still shrinking and wellbeing is still on the decline, obviously you'll need something more popular than pretending everything is fine and telling people to be more grateful. Textbook right-wing as in not taking people's problems seriously and telling yourself that you must be doing a fantastic job because you're the one doing it.

RE: Are the elite/powerful becoming held accountable now?

I hope we clamp down on credit cards and payday loan companies whilst raising interest rates.

Our ship is sinking and we need to turn off the pumps(the cheap and easy dollars keeping the deadweight afloat), reclaim what we can from the wreck and build a new boat.

RE: September.....

Civilisation was built on moaning about the weather, there's a thoughtfulness to drizzle unmatched by the tropical centre.

RE: Sulking Lovers

Yet being lured into asking what's wrong doesn't necessarily mean you should. Neither all the time or not at all, but only sometimes do you walk into a woman's trap. Alone time often is the best thing for a man or woman in a sulk even if getting her to realise it means closing the door in her face. It's avoiding you, to help you.

RE: Sulking Lovers

It's not an emotion affected for the group at large... unless we're telling a joke or goofin around. If it seems like a real emotion, it probably is. And this is something you just have to accept about men.
