In that context your main competiton is man or animal, the need to cooperate because survival is more convenient. In regards to objective truth the situation is one of won’t do, can’t do. The liberals won’t be truthful because it hurts and the populists who know more of testing circumstances won’t be truthful because of a lack of critical faculties. Not always is this the case, but the tendency is there.

Artificial intelligence doesn't leave much room for the ambition or utility of mankind and to survive we're looking at people becoming more of a player instead of a go-getter or provider. To some extent honest work has already been replaced by technology and AI will have it disappear completely. The jobs people do now are not crucial like they used to be and in this country 40% of people find no meaning in their work.
Through AI mankind will have to be content with being like a lady of leisure or face oblivion. Being like a lady of leisure isn't as easy as it sounds, particularly for men and there'll be a strong reaction against comfort and ease from people who really need their cross to bear. We may even need a war against the people with a cross to bear before mankind accepts its new lighter, sillier role in existence. The second world war, if the survivors hadn't been so happy to survive the war they'd never have created a generation of oversized children like the baby boomers who could adapt to this kept existence as a pseudo lady of leisure. The men and women before baby boomers came with more purpose and although it made them worthy of more respect at the same time it's dangerous to be worthy of a challenge that never comes... We need another generation like the baby boomers to make society more juvenile, to not think like a proper grown up is how we survive a life kept by industry, it's how we adapt to consumer society.
