RE: Women tearing other women down

Even in the star wars video games Rey is a superhuman character that kind of spoils it for everybody else playing. Comes with a special ability that's not just an unfair advantage but it literally deactivates everyone else's abilities, she wins by dragging your abilities down wins by having all opponents fight with both hands tied behind their back.

RE: Women tearing other women down

I guess that I have some sympathy for women tearing down other women because I've seen Rey in star wars. That humourless strong woman who is instantly better than the rest at everything does not even need try or grow or develop just perfect from day one. Instant biological superiority in a character. Don't we all question the worthiness of this superior?

RE: Women tearing other women down

And lastly the worse the upbringing the better the comedian. The better the comedian and the lower the self-seriousness. Men are more likely to take themselves with a pinch of salt down to the worse upbringing, it's not as easy for men at the top to lose the common touch as it is for Marie Antoinette figure.

RE: Women tearing other women down

Anyway you'll tend to find that women get along better under a male boss. Why? Because of why he is the boss. I am the boss because I'm better at running a paper merchant than you are. How upset can you be about that? Not the better kind, just a better kind at running a paper merchant

RE: Women tearing other women down

Because this time it's personal. Just like last time and the next time.

And the heart of the matter is entitlement. Society is a lot kinder women purely because they exist but that's a double edged sword. When they do come up short next to a woman it as though society has designated her the untermensch. It's not second nature to think well you earn respect therefore I need to apply myself more if Im bothered about besting whatever this person has that I don't. Inequality strikes deeper and more personally to a woman.

RE: That no-talent Rihanna...

Rihanna is one of the best of the bad bunch of insufferable music that came on since the 1980s
The power of money, the power of press, took away every last shred of creative and intellectual talent we ever had. The money men who contend nothing but money

RE: TikTok...

Many people were opposed to the Iraq war, more than there are Russians opposed to invading Ukraine.

And you have to consider what the Bush era was, the height of neoliberalism going mad with power and if Putin had that level of power and opportunity? What would he do then? The Iraq war was spoilt cowards shooting fish in a barrel, invading Ukraine is a real headtheball thing to do, it is tremendously risky and costly.

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

And what strikes me as the most mad about a million commandments half of which change tomorrow is the fact that we're not getting any younger. I mean that literally as in an aging population. And what are the old? A bank of experience, and what are they not? Fast-learning.

The modern society of 80 is the new 18 really doesn't work. Is it set in its ways or is it reinventing itself every 5 minutes like a young David Bowie? An unhappy combination of both and there's a culture war made out of 80 is the new 18, the hasbeen bang-on trend.

RE: Why don't we know the future?!

It wouldn't leave us with many options. And if my own free will was part of a much larger plan, it would be necessary for me to forget that it was. If all was divine anyway.. I can't shake a sense that we'd all be worse off by believing this.

RE: Friday Again

Can't you both be right?

For Ukraine it's a war of national liberation, has certainly become this as Putin crossed the line last February to the point of alienating pretty much everybody in Ukraine, but at the same time it's in our interest that Ukraine wins no less than it is the interest of Russia for Ukraine to lose.

RE: Do opposites attract?

It depends if these opposites are complementary. If one was to work about a hundred million hours but wasn't very good at shopping, the woman could easily have the skills to help him out with that.

But then if one supports Israel and the other supports Palestine it may turn out that one of you has to leave. It shouldn't be this way, it doesn't have to be this way, and we should be able to love one another in spite of being stultifyingly misinformed.

RE: Am I gone bonkers

They're not robots it's just harder to respect someone as a real person over the internet. And as a woman most of the human species doesn't properly exist anyway. A broad and shallow network will appear even less human when you were evolved for little groups and chosen ones

RE: What defines beauty...

Luke Kelly. Scorn not his simplicity

Inner beauty defined

RE: What defines beauty...

It depends what you're into. Neither fame nor the fuhrer could make Madonna beautiful to my eyes. Beauty is on a double level, it looks great and is so lovely it almost doesn't realise.

RE: All that glitters is not gold

And children of your own, too, of course. A near death experience, boredom tolerance, and children of your own are the three major things you can do to appreciate the right people not the wrong people.

RE: A place of rest, disturbed.

Is your brother mad?

Looting someone's grave is bad but then why would you visit the graveyard to begin with? It seems such a contradiction to even think of visiting your mother's grave, but then do that

RE: Body cam... what a great invention.

The best lack all conviction and the worst are full of passionate intensity.

This is what I see from being spied on constantly. The brazen and shameless are moreso than ever before, and the rest are like a cog in the media machine. What can one do against such reckless hate? Absolutely nothing at all. The brazen and the non-entity with not a lot inbetween.

RE: Body cam... what a great invention.

At one time caught on camera would have been enough to deter the crime, but that's no longer the case. The response to being spied on constantly has been to get used to it, to behave like nobody was watching anyway and when it comes to the bystander the response then is to film the crime. Don't help, just film it. I guess what stands out to me is when Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd why didn't the crowd run in and hang Derek Chauvin from the lamppost? They should have ripped his head off but people just did nothing

RE: Would you date somebody that is less than half your age...

The likelihood is that the younger woman will be seen as good looking by the man. You date someone older if you don't honestly care that much about good looks, but you like someone who's calmed down a bit now and acquired a few resources along the way. Grey hair is a sign of wisdom and experience even if it is possible to have neither of these things and still be grey. Although to be fair men are rather transparent and one-dimensional, if the grey hair turns out to be literally a moron it's the moron that counts, not the grey hair.

RE: Dog fires rifle and kills man...

And I guess it makes perfect sense. As the world becomes vast, mysterious and unconquerable the ordinary person is liable to become a her indoors. To occupy a little domestic island of total control and I do believe this is something education needs to address in the 21st century. Don't let the predictability of your own life colour your perception of the big, bad world. Safespace is somewhere we go precisely because the world is outside strange and unnerving, complicated and chaotic. Do not judge the big, bad world by the standards of your own island of tranquility, the world of reason must be established in education the ability to distinguish between your personal experience and the facts.

RE: Dog fires rifle and kills man...

I'll give them some credit for the weather, and sports results, but the media is not an accurate reflection of reality. If it was filled with the commonplace it wouldn't be news.

And more than this we seem to believe things don't happen by accident they can only happen by design. It's modern convenience that has us believe that nothing happens by accident but at the same time the modern world is massive, massive and chaotic which is to say full of surprises. Where your bubble ends it meets something completely different, completely random I would actually define the modern world by the contrast between the bubble and the random. Everything is in on your terms up to a certain distance away from you, and then suddenly not at all on your terms things happen that have never happened before in the whole of human history. Nothing can happen by accident because of the bubble, but then so much does happen by accident because of the sheer size and complexity of the world. The bubble dominates our psychology, narcissism dominates our psychology, but actually so much has never been less on our terms when you really think about them. Take the internet. Echo chambers would have you believe everything happens by design and not at all by accident, but in the bigger picture we know that it doesn't we know that it's like a box of chocolates. Outside of the echo chambers the internet is synonymous with life itself, it's something which emphasizes the fact that anything could happen.

RE: Dog fires rifle and kills man...

Millions of people, millions of guns, millions of dogs. It's hard to imagine winning the lottery, but it is not hard to imagine someone winning the lottery. Obviously this being a lottery you don't want to win. The exception to the rule must happen and the unexpected is be expected like people dying of a covid vaccine. If something is big enough, happens often enough, then it must go wrong.

Anyway the most convenient solution is a technology that makes it much harder to fire a gun without meaning to. There must be something they can do.

RE: Saying goodbye is never easy - but it had to be done!

A friendship based on unrequited love will be at best not respected by her new boyfriend. A weird position of power over some guy that appears to be dishonourable and exploitative even when all were single.

RE: Alec Baldwin: Rusted...

What a kerfuffle. My first impression is that the armourer was most at fault and then Alec slightly worse than the rest of the productions so-called management. I know it was a western, but you're pretending to be a bunch of cowboys not seriously a bunch of cowboys.

RE: Advice

If nothing else your special military operation in Syria makes more sense as you are not competing with a way of life which most people on the face of the earth actually prefer. ISIS was even worse than you and that's your most fertile ground for building an empire. What you've done by invading Ukraine is weaken your better idea significantly to follow a stupid one.

RE: Advice

Take your mates from North Korea, China and Iran and stay in Asia. Invade Europe and your mongoloid hordes will be thrown back as they have done so many times in history. We might not police the world like we use to, but we do defend our own homes apart from the Quislings we'll deal with later.

RE: Speaking lies for power!

Then again it could be worse. At least they are inciting the Taliban to kill him, the Russians would cut out the middleman when all you physically need is an open window.

RE: If CS suddenly closed their site...

Happy, sad, a little trauma, indifferent - I'd be guaranteed to experience one or all of these things. It would be one of those character-building things I/we don't really want to do.

RE: The Silent treatment.

I reckon that's down to the number of men who really don't say anything. People begin to suspect that there's nothing odd about a man's silence

RE: What does the end of all this look like?

I have no love for Putin and the Russians but they do know what a woman should look like. I'll give them that. But why can't we take the best of our traditions and our natural impulses without the squalor? We don't really want to hurt or injure anyone but why does a front page model have to come with a new hip? The misandry of the west will calm down eventually, nature isn't all wrong.
