You make interesting points, yet (1) I didn't ask you if you thought you were being rude, and (2) I didn't make mention of your choices at all. I cannot subscribe to the concept of free will and condemn you for your choices. That's not what true Christians or spiritually evolved people do.
I asked you what you thought about non-American believers, as devout Chrstians and Catholics exist in every corner of the world.
LCBR, you said "The real problem, as I see it, is that God has imbued "itself" into the American Psyche. Obviously, this goes back to the Founding Fathers, and the Mayflower. Since many people refuse to think for themselves, then there God remains (almost as a squatting tenant, in an otherwise empty house)". However, believing in God is not a problem for those who choose to believe. And are you equally condescending and dismissive of non-Americans believers? Obviously God remains in the hearts of those who seek to live and love on a higher level than that which the natural self is capable of reaching.
eeejay...you finally made it to the blog corner. Did you collect your $200?
Thanks for the intro and we hope to be thoroughly enlightened by what you choose to share in the coming days. My two pennies in regard to seeking online relationships from a romantic perspective is
Been there (a few times, years ago), done that. If one is not skilled at seeing "signs" the potential mate shows, the F2F can be disastrous. I think that is largely due to the fact that most people (98%) who choose to interact this way are damaged. Maybe not hopelessly, but damaged all the same. By that I mean there are fundamental challenges they grapple with that draw them to the anonymity and asynchronous method of communicating the site offers. Most people tell lies. Not petty, simple lies to make themselves seem more appealing to a greater number of suitors, but dangerous falsehoods that could, in the end, cause a lot of heartbreak (or in my case, get them a one-way ticket back to wherever they came from).
Having said that, I think it's inevitable to find people with similar interests and to build upon that, perhaps even make friends outside of this virtual world. There is no risk in making friends, which is exciting but takes time. Sometimes having a best friend is better than having a lover. Whatever the case, have fun, be careful and keep sharing!
