America stepped into the spot light post WWII because it was the only industrial country left standing at that moment. Indeed it used its new found wealth and power to help a good part of the world on its feet. The result is now we live in a Global Society and Trump's America First campaign does NOT cut it. It is time for America to share the spot light.
I confess that the hardest conversations I had Tuesday night were with my daughters. I so badly want to tell them that all is going to be OK, that we’ve been through bad patches as a country before. And I hope that will turn out to be the case — that whoever wins this election will draw the right conclusion that we simply cannot go on tearing one another apart.
But I could not, in all honesty, tell them that with any confidence. I am certain “the better angels of our nature” are still out there. But our politics and our political system right now are not inspiring them to emerge at the scale and speed that we so desperately need
I have the same memories, Chat. On the flip side I remember some of the good things about the cold war like putting a man on the moon and all the NASA inventions like the microchips that came out that venture. I grew thinking we would put a man on Mars by 2020.
The quote was more along the lines of make Government small enough to drown in bathtub. Hard Right covers a lot of lot of political ground - everything from QAnon extremist to religious evangelicals to run of the mill Libertarians. Some see all government everywhere a threat and others would be satisfied if government was modified to better to fit their short term individual needs. Then there is Wall Street where profit is all and anything that gets in the way is bad.

Given the age of water systems all across the US it would be best for everyone to secure 4 or 5 gallons in closet. AS shown in Flint, Mich even the water pipes going into older houses and buildings is suspect.
Donald has a great deal of his ready cash tied up in the stock market. SO when the market drops so does his dividend income and ready cash from stock sales. With all his investment debts all coming due and his income taxes being pried open (finally), the last thing Donald needs is a down market.
Let me amend that, the very last thing Donald needs is to lose the 2020 election which offers prosecution immunity.
