We were driving over to my mom’s house for dinner and we heard the call for prayer- azan untuk waktu Maghrib. Art asked me if that was a call to prayer and I said yes. I then told him that even though we were not Muslim, we were trained to go home the moment we heard the beduk/bedug being hit just before the azan being recited during waktu Maghrib. We were told that’s the most inauspicious time and that we must not be on the street or at the playground during that time. I even passed on that belief to my kids. Even my 5 year-old son knew he had to hurry home while playing with the neighbours. Don’t think he follows that rule anymore though
I don’t have any and I don’t want to have any! I love listening to my friends’ stories and got scared silly afterwards! There were times where I even kept all the lights on the whole night!
When I was younger, I used to beli majalah Mastika where they would feature all the cerita seram, misteri, mistik dan lain-lain.
Also, my late grandma used to be extra ‘naggy’ during the 7th month of the Chinese calendar! She would not allow me to go swimming or stay out late during the ‘kwai chit’
Awesome! Would you be available this coming Saturday, 3rd February? How about we meet at 11am? Let me know the name of the restaurant in Taman Eng Ann. I’ll use Waze to get there. Art is a very finicky eater. He doesn’t like 90% of the food in Malaysia and other Southeast Asia countries He hasn’t tried dry Bak Kut Teh before therefore I’m feeling a bit apprehensive. He does like Char Siew and Kai Si Hor Fun very very much Took him to one of the best in Ipoh the other day
