Florida Everglades on Fire

I would taste that recipe but I wouldn't make it myself. I like to eat gator though. Do you Mic?

RE: New York Trip Preparations - Part 1

It may be cheaper to buy an outfit or two in New York than pay for a baggage compartment.

RE: Steel toe work boots...

Chat all one has to say is "They are steel toed" or Prescribed by a doctor - An accountant or IRS agent will NOT ask to see the shoes. That goes a long way for many other things as well. You would be amazed what falls in the "supplies or safety" category. In FL any outdoor work get sunscreen as a write off for example.

Remember I wrote off a loose rattlesnake in the house as a security deduction for a client's tools. He did try to go to far by asking if he could write off a cannon the following year. As creative a mind I have I couldn't figure anything out for his profession - I could if a different profession.

RE: Steel toe work boots...

Most accidents or deaths investigated show an OSHA rule broken.

I'm sure your accountant let you know your boots and every single tool you purchase (for anything) is a write off.

RE: what is loneliness?

This blog from 2012 was a nice thought provoking blog and so many good posts. I loved the poem Prom.

I experience brief moments of loneliness on occasion but not to often. I haven't ruled out engaging with a companion but I'm not out looking for it.

RE: Apologies

I've had altercations with a member on my old dating site and I'm not sure what I would have done if given the ultimatum to apologize or get the boot. I'm guessing I would apologize in a sincere way with a little jab.

I often read opinions when one degrades another, I never join in unless asking who they are talking about. Sometimes I agree with the opinion and many times not but I don't post my opinion either way. On this site I've never posted a blog about another blogger that annoys me but trust me there are some blogs if I read them I would go barking mad so I don't.

RE: California city will remove gender terms, including ‘manhole’ and ‘manmade,’ from municipal code

So I guess Hurricanes will be renamed too?

RE: I Am Having A Birthday Party This Year

I second that and Happy early B-day

RE: Joke

Although I understand Berry, I still thought the joke was funny even if not politically correct.

RE: Biscotti...

For some reason I've never enjoyed Biscotti even though I grew up with it but my Daddy loves it. That reminds me I will stop and get him one from a bakery.

RE: The Condo...

Retail is a sure way not to be bored. I bet he will be a good neighbor. I'm very blessed to have great neighbors.

Gardening

Thank you Lucy that is beneficial information.

RE: Tapping fingers...

Gotcha. You must not require much sleep, lucky you.

RE: Children - Guaranteed to Break Your Heart

Oh Imp, I used your blog for my therapy because you picked the perfect title. Ironic how one that you can be so proud of on one hand, can break your heart on the other.

RE: Children - Guaranteed to Break Your Heart

Whoa I wrote that! I got caught up in a moment of hurt and anger and poured it out. That was a lot of negativity - sheesh, I'm almost ashamed.

I love my baby girl, the spoiled little brat just not talking to her until the next big family event, my first guess is it will be either a funeral or a wedding but we will all come together.

Today is a new day to focus on all the positive.

RE: Tapping fingers...

Are you talking to yourself again?

RE: What do you do when your doctor tells you you have 2 maybe 3 days to live.

Wow what a close call but I'm thinking taking the rights meds and your positive attitude is certainly on the road to recovery, I certainly wish you well.

RE: Children - Guaranteed to Break Your Heart

I just disowned my daughter today. She didn't get her way last weekend and turned meaner than a rattlesnake. Came by today saying she wanted to repair us which I was all for. However, she wouldn't let me talk and laid on me as blame to all her problems and I should have given her up. Lord sometimes I wish I had. She wouldn't calm to a normal voice, nor let me talk so I just guided her out of the house and said let's never talk again.

I won't let anyone disrespect me like that not even my own child. My son has been warning me she is going to have an episode because it's due and he hit the nail on the head. Both kids were raised in the same house, both memories are different. He remembers me as strict on one hand and liberal on the other.

I give up, she broke my heart and I washed my hands. No wonder I love dogs, they don't fricken talk back or go off the deep end.

I raised a real spoiled brat and I'm so sorry.

Gardening

That almost made me propose too but honey do you clean windows?

Gardening

Oh thanks Cat - I did used to know that 40 years ago but totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder.

RE: The original Sin

Honey if we shaved and put after shave on, you would hear our screams all the way in your country.

Gardening

I've played classical music for my indoor plants but if I went outside to sing to my plants, my neighbors would stand their ground and shoot me. This is Florida.

RE: Until the 'newness' wears off...

I enjoy what fiorenza says and agree.

Chat since you have a multi-cultural marriage with your lovely wife. I would love to hear some of the challenges you both have overcome blending the cultures, especially for your wife coming to a new country.

I know I've learned so much from my daughter-in-law's culture. Sometimes it is still hard for me to understand what she is saying because Chinese broken English is harder for me but oh man I admire her and her ways fiercely.

RE: Jowls...

I'm not getting any surgeries unless I won the lotto but then I would have to remember to play it. However if I won I would probably fix a whole lot. But the most important things is the dogs could care less about jowls and droopy eyes.

RE: Jowls...

Cheaper in China? I would have had to go to Columbia. I would love to have the grocery bags removed too.

RE: Jowls...

The eyelids start sagging too, they call it "the hoods". In America it is about $2,500 to lift the hoods (or cut them off I guess) and yet in Columbia you can get the whole kit and kaboodle on your face done for a grand.

RE: Short man has epic meltdown in NYC bagel shop

He went down easy. That is a big chip on his shoulder.

Kodak Moments

Why thank you so much. It was a Kodak moment.

RE: Checklist for USA.

In restaurants here most people tip at least 15% now. I usually tip 20% or more for good service. Often the bill will print out how much 15%, 18%, 20% & 22% is so you can choose how much. Beware some places build the tip into the total so be alert and don't tip again. I did that once when I picked up the tab for my whole family, tip was included and I lefty another hefty tip on the table. Got home and went OUCH.

You will have a great time.

RE: Disgusting!

Enjoy it while it lasts. Not sure why so unfair.
