You get what you pay for...

Trump and most US politicians are just empty cans that rattle the loudest..

Butcher, think logically here.
This man has the power to control millions. He wants to change the Constitution to suit himself and is getting the support of the Republicans. Lies spew from his mouth and they don't contest him. I find it frightening and it's the old story if you put a tyrant into power, you've lost.

RE: Presidential Immunity

News tonight:
Two D.C. courts on Friday shot down former President Donald Trump's presidential immunity claims related to January 6 and his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan on Friday ruled that being president does not equate to "a lifelong 'get-out-of-jail-free' pass."

"Former Presidents enjoy no special conditions on their federal criminal liability," she wrote. "Defendant may be subject to federal investigation, indictment, prosecution, conviction, and punishment for any criminal acts undertaken while in office."

Chutkan also shut down Trump's argument that the case presents a violation of his First Amendment rights, as his attorneys have alleged that his challenging of the election via claims of election fraud was a protected act of free speech.

"It is well established that the First Amendment does not protect speech that is used as an instrument of a crime," Chutkan observed. "Defendant is not being prosecuted simply for making false statements ... but rather for knowingly making false statements in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy and obstructing the electoral process."

Condo insurance increases...

Not all of Florida has HOA's
Miami has lots of older houses in neighborhoods without.
Suggestion is to get a single family house outside a major city, half-way up the state so you're not in a flood zone and away for the hurricane corridor.

Hey !! It got your attention. Good.

That was frightening. I think Tiny Tim covered the first song and had better vibrato.

Not anytime soon. Your governor is busy running for the Republican nomination.

Condo insurance increases...

I'll give my opinion to your question to gonelikethewimd.
These are skyrocketing rates to existing structures.

Walker the hunchback...

Mercedes, thanks for the information. Personally, I suffer from lumbar pain and had an MRI last month. My doctor prescribed physical therapy visits to help strengthen my lower back.

Condo insurance increases...

In your overzealous attempt to whack me (again) you missed the 2 significant points of the blog. Some condo owners in Florida were hit with a 563% increase and some long-time residents in my community are forced to sell because they no longer to afford the increases.

It's all in perspective and I'm sorry your lung cancer is more painful than my skin cancer!

Great song, great voice. I didn't care much for the video.

RE: Presidential Immunity

There's always the possibility of running the administration via TRUTH social media.

RE: Presidential Immunity

I like this one:
One of Trump's lawyer has stated that prosecuting Trump in the Georgia case is ‘election interference’ if he becomes the GOP nominee.
You may remember Trump announced he was running for 2024 long before it was time to make the announcement. I believe that did 2 things. Start the ball rolling on (grifter) campaign funding and use any excuse any legal action against him would be election interference.

He's doing both.

RE: Kids that put a smile on one's face.

A little boy asks his father a question:
Dad, is Rotterdam a bad word?
Dad thinks: Rotterdam... Netherlands. No son, why do you ask?
Son: Because my teacher has Psoriasis and I hope it will rot-her-damn arm off!

(rim-shot)

RE: Presidential Immunity

This is a complicated subject and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.

America is covering legal ground that has not been tested like this before. He (Trump) is throwing so much shit against the wall, looking for a loophole to escape criminal charges, the wall has turned brown.

This popped up on my news this morning:
Judge rejects Trump immunity claim in federal 2020 election case

Another 'who killed JFK' theory...

Okay, but the JFK assassination is much, much more than political...

I'm surprised they allowed that pathological liar Santos to stay for so long!
applause

Open enrollment...

I haven't checked to see when open enrollment ends, but I'm getting 3 emails per day from Medicare and the other providers, so it's probably coming up soon!

Another 'who killed JFK' theory...

I haven't verified dates. Over the years, Bush was mentioned in several stories.
Now, I'm curious... why??

Now, I'm thinking Bush may have been working for the FBI or CIA when Kennedy was assassinated and later became the director.

More research is needed.

Another 'who killed JFK' theory...

Right and George H. W. Bush was director of the CIA at the time.

RE: Wow What's Happeniing?

The kitchen in my condo is really small... really small.
"L" shape and 18" of countertop to the left of the range with an old toaster oven, 24x24 to the left of the sink where we keep cooking supplies (oil, vinegar, soy sauce, etc.) and the dish drain, to the right of the sink is 18" and a rice cooker. Something has give as there's no counter space. If I toss out the old toaster oven I'll replace it with a turbo-oven and eliminate the need for 2 appliances. The cabinets below are full so shifting unused things isn't possible.

I started a kitchen renovation last year at the peak of sciatic nerve issues and got into other things... The upper cabinets are in my plans to replace with taller ones, hopefully around the Christmas/New Year holiday.

I'll squeeze in a base cabinet between the kitchen and dining room so I can put an air fryer that was a gift 2 years ago.

Like the shoemaker who has worn shoes, we make-do with what we have.
I shook hands on a whole house deal this week where the kitchen alone is over $86,000.
That's more than I paid for my condo!

Classic!

The worst song cover(s)...

Maybe not the worst, but Weezer covered the Toto song Africa that started out okay. The keyboard solo in the middle was really weak. Near the end of the song the video morphed into some weirdness.
