RE: Chinese satellite lasers recorded over Hawaii

So, @dlmac, what IS your favourite copy-paste site, priveleged source? The thought just occurred to me that nothing you write so long-windedly can be original, that perhaps all of it is penned by another. Tell me it isn't so??? Perhaps you and @bcj and @hoo all belong to the one club and share deep inner secrets? Google tells all, after all!

RE: Colonoscopy...

My first in Hornsby hospital maybe 35 years ago, I asked the doctor if I could read during the procedure... having little humour he didn't laugh - nor did I during the business, which could not be completed/tolerated - no anaesthesia. Next time counting down from 100 I didn't reach 90, North Sydney hospital, but I left alone afterwards and managed to get home likewise, only 20 minutes walk. Colonoscopy is by no means a risk free procedure, there have been bizarre colonic gas explosions ...

RE: Biden in 2024...

Jeez! Pandora's box innit!

RE: Biden in 2024...

Biden in 2024 could of course cancel and withdraw the persecution of Julian Assange! As an absent CS member used to say '...just saying'

RE: put god first

@hooha who would not be!? You are a deliberately offensive twit, time and time again.

RE: Rudy aka what's a lawyer to do...

@rpWhen you post in a public thread you have no say about who responds. You are aware of that. If you want to address @op exclusively why not email him? He's sure to be delighted, don't you think? hmmm, well perhaps not... In the meantime your public pronouncements here receive the contempt/derision due them (but of course that's only my opinion).

RE: Rudy aka what's a lawyer to do...

@rp you demonstrate significantly less than a brain by such absurd claims. Unproven? Old news, but:Virtually all cases in support of the nonsense 'stolen election' claims have been dismissed. A negative is almost impossible to prove, but then the positive should at least be supportable.
It is not, simply obviously clearly not.
A person with an ounce of pragmatism would sensibly walk away from such idiotic assertions.

RE: Argument

Rake? Of course! Absolutely, a must watch. Cleaver Greene rules! (@OP sorry!)

RE: Argument

(I'll have to look up: )

RE: Argument

Movie (1996) and TV series (2014 was best) 3rd and 4th were somewhat downhill
- much like The Handmaids Tale which peaked then declined
Meat Grinder scene from season 2?

Sorry @op - totally off topic!

RE: Argument

In blog arguments they almost always descend to 'ad hominem' level. Attacks on the person here, for example, are par for the course, in fact almost always the opening shot. The topic under discussion flies straight out the window.

RE: Who made god?

@hpy I refer you to posts #224 and #227. I had not referred to you previously except possibly in reply tosome comment. You made the personal comments. @hooha does little else than attempt such. Try sticking to topic, hmmm?

RE: Your Honor, my client would like to flip...

Going by this morning's news, said Russell Brand has achieved a new high in infamy, hasn't he!

RE: Who made god?

@hooha @hpy: Look I know I am a fascinating character, and I understand you wanting to discuss me, but you can do that in emails, not in a thread about gods; even I do not claim that (although Potus45 almost does, doesn't he!?).
Instead, on topic, I claim all gods are imaginative creations of mankind.
And @hpy perhaps you should read Ingersoll a little more carefully, I sincerely doubt he suits your way of thinking. Perhaps have a look at Hegel, who did indeed have a personal view of god, but of a god which is not a 'being' or a 'thing'

RE: Who made god?

Classic example of 'The pot calling the kettle black' wouldn't you say?

@hoohaWell no of course it is not. However the various churches have indeed had a profound effect on development of the various societies, not the book so much. That is a classic case of metonymy.

RE: Gag Order...

@OP the reported response of DT to the gag order application, according to Vanity fair was:

RE: Who made god?

@hooha by the same token you would have me read some treatise in support of flat earth, perhaps? Equally ridiculous. I might dabble in the bible or the quran for their poetry and literary value, but for sense and intelligence never. You, equally might try a little Karl Marx or Hegel perhaps. How about Bertrand Russell? Too much for you, perhaps? You might also consider that the 'word of god' was written first in Hebrew and then in Greek, and later a large crew of scribes produced the King James version, so it has gone through several transformations, hasn't it, and who do you claim gave you the 'true' word of your god? It doesn't talk much post 1st century does it, not many updates lately?

RE: Who made god?

@agbob with reference to my remark elsewhere about your waste of space - here you excel yourself. My eyes wash over your dotted drivel but you work the scroll button pretty hard. The god created by whomsoever seems to doom you to besplatting the blogs with dots and dashes. Could it be that the purpose of one particular god was to create one such as you to infest blog threads? Well that thought makes as much sense as that of a divinity.

RE: Who made CStonehenge?

Did you also know with great prescience that someone else was sure to depreciate your waste of space?
If you ever express an idea worthy of consideration, who would ever know in spotted text that to me always resembles ... leave that unfinished for you to complete with copious left brackets.

RE: Who made god?

an absence of dogmatic religious belief, and achieving self-discovery, is indeed superior to the church dogma, to any church or religious dogma.

RE: Why blogs should go on forever

@bcj what on earth makes you think that shrill witch has come back? She hasn't. Use your eyes and see who is the poster.

Sense: None
Overall (out of 10): SFA

RE: Before January 6th 2021

@dlmac the consequences of decisions made by American presidents are not limited to Lakewood or New York state, it might surprise you to know. We followed various presidents into Korea Vietnam Iraq Afghanistan at your bidding. We probably know a lot more about you than you do about us.

RE: Before January 6th 2021

@OP does that mean it never can be? YES, emphatically. Will the right to bear arms ever be seriously restricted? Equally NO. The constitution is their inviolable god, slavishly proclaimed and heralded.

RE: Before January 6th 2021

I watched the Bob Woodward right through too - pretty revealing and most entertaining. Trump is truly a nutter

RE: Who made god?

@ab as a matter of mild interest AB, what do you get, gratification, satisfaction wise, out of these 'postraphised utterances? Is it like the joy of some god-lover speaking in tongues? What is your motivation in writing punctuation that no one reads? Surely you know that most, like me, merely glaze over and pass by at the first hint of your name and unbalanced parentheses? Should you happen to respond, Oh AB, do it in intelligible language, else bother not.
