With two I am/was in daily or weekly contact via ICQ, QQ Wechat and now defunct apps like MSMessenger, YahooMessenger. In each case we have visited each other in our respective homelands. Each of us is/was married and had children, but that was never an issue - romance has been excluded from these friendships, but love has not.
To some extent too, perhaps, he feigns ignorance and expresses absurd ideas because many of his followers think that shows originality and innovative thinking. Trump for King might be a case in point.
You might revisit your dictionary, since you have not used it correctly or understood it. A great deal of Trump is covert. He is nothing like an open book. However he does not conceal his racism sexism or misogyny but makes a virtue of them in the eyes of his followers believing perhaps he thus will win votes.
That says a lot about both the followers (carefully avoiding the basket of deplorables) and the man. It is no accident that Trump stoops so low in intellectual expression, he is aware it pays dividends. It probably explains his overt racism and sexism too. They win him votes in the loud crowd.
Not far from the worst, for sure, his ranking will almost certainly be in the 40's and higher number for worst than G W Bush. Look at the 2021 C-SPAN Presidential Historians Survey, that looks about right.
43. Donald Trump (2017-2021) 3 out of 45, that looks about right too. His highest rankings were in luck, public persuasion and willingness to take risks — but he ranks low due to his weakening of the presidential office itself.
Lost? I think not - I am quite sure he calculates it profits him. Who knows, perhaps he even pre-calculated the grabbing p*ssy remark long ago. Sure, often his blurts are just that, but you can be sure many of them have been discussed round-table before getting the team nod. Don't underestimate the gullibility, or the willingness to believe anything, of his supporters. Perhaps he thinks being found to be a rapist enhances his aura.

Incidentally there is nothing inherently wrong or doomed in marrying a prostitute. You wouldn't claim that they cannot have genuine feelings and morals surely? They are merely conducting commerce, and could very well be entirely ethical highly educated and wonderful partners and parents. Consider Annabel Chong, for example. I wouldn't have objected to coding side by side with her at all! Mind you, she did pass through a pretty silly stage!
@OP Tatami is still around and still makes very occasional appearances. Trying to remember how to say that in Tagalog - I've got it wrong but it sounded something like 'pango at pandak'. Can you put me right? It's the snub-nosed or retroussé I can't work out and I'm pretty sure It wasn't matangos or patak. But in the case of the female I refer to, she definitely was all three!
I remember this morning's dream/nightmare vividly ... I woke up with the clearest memory and certainty, and it was populated with numbers, percentages... I sleep with the radio on, and perhaps it was the 6:30 news. With great clarity I remember the horror - I kid you not, it is absolutely true - numbers like 61% that Donald Trump was going to be President again. Really. That was so clear in this nightmare. When I woke of course I was immediately aware that I had awakened, as I am in all my death dreams. But Donald Trump - too much of a nightmare to bear!

@op my years of living in and travelling in Asia, of marriage and dating, showed me no evidence at all of this. Perhaps you see more of and mix more with the superficial, I cannot say. My mother's generation - well that's another matter and she would never venture out of the house without 'her face on', and a liberal splash of 'snake juice'. But then back in the day, a man would never go out the door without his hat unless mad, like 'mad dogs of Englishmen' and my father who I never saw in a hat!
