the obsession ot the @lcbr shows as always but has sfa to do with Confucius. China basked in the perceived glory of their marvellous thinkers, their high water mark, and wallowed for two thousand years left in the dust of the nearly contemporaneous Plato and the many who followed, but particularly in mathematics and science. Chained as they were to ever more ancient ideas and disregard for science, they still stayed ahead until the 17th century perhaps.
Plato to my mind ranks far ahead, but both are indeed worthy of thought and study.
'received a signed cheque, personally signed by Soros' Oh yeah that's going to happen? Not this century though. Who here has seen a cheque in recent years. I destroyed an old unused chequebook a year or so ago. Surely America the technology giant has moved on from that old technology? Or not? In China just swipe the QR-code (sure, that came from Japan, but China has adapted to and adopted it). China is fast becoming cashless. That is not thread-relevant, so sorry.
@orz with the stress on MAN as high and woman as low. On authority to be obeyed and not questioned. Adherence to kongzi mengzi laozi was to a large extent responsible for the decline of Chinese culture from its high of 2500 years ago to the low of 1850-1940
@deed Three Stooges in a foursome That surely would be awesome Add Indonesian and a Saudi Might be rather bawdy But all the muslims really? By almost a billion chased That's a lot of touchy feely And though you of course are demure It's hard to stay both chaste and pure

Having reached 75 this year, and needing to renew my driver's licence, I was required to obtain a medical certificate establishing that I still able to comprehend and physically able to drive... aaaahhhh the joys of aging! In China at age 70 I was declined a 'public bicycle loan card' . The country of great respect for the elderly also refuses to admit people over the age of about 35 to universities. Unless you want to study calligraphy at a senior aged university.
@jac no sooner do I mention TS Eliot than he pops up all unexpected in that video of yours! If I were a top poet I think none but I would know it speak it say it tell it show it eat it eat it mmm just so coz words spoken eaten are just like defeat and bitter aren't they?
Heavy hands breaks pencils and leads and that snap sound tolls in my mind like sin contemplated but undone. to learn to keep long leads intact but escape with nice sins now that could be fun!
@tata if your moniker were tatami60 well that would work but people know the year of birth is constant while the age increases. Birthyears are common but age - who wants to change their moniker every year? When I first created my internet name in about 1990, I tried no number, then 1 then 2, and thought, oh try 32, and that worked, but nothing to do with age or birthday, just a power of 3. Year of joining is also common. 1983 was my first visit to PI, now that's a magic year too, isn't it! Aquino, and 1984 followed.
@miclee re that cartoon youtube - you outdo yourself in the absurd and preposterous, in vapidity. As I have asked you before, don't you ever blush at your own stupidity?
RE: Telomeres, schmelomers....
@deed don't ever ever think he is out of your league! you are wrong and he feeds on it
