RE: I've never had any desire to talk about religion or politics

Cranky G ~ I understand what you mean 100%. I watch one News bulletin now per day while on lockdown. I am fed up of programmes on T.V. about the Covid 19, I am hearing the same conversation from different points of view and presenters. Ditto ~ Trump and Democrats. There sometimes is no adult debate at all. Religion is not overtaking the blogs. I think there are 3 regular contributors.

I do hate the incessant bad news syndrome here though. Bad News sells papers and keeps people watching T.V. and keeps people in control.
I deliberately watch light hearted uplifting programmes informative and also comedy programmes. We do need to get more lighthearted. thumbs up

RE: This Is What Mind Control Looks Like - Operation Mockingbird

Chancer ~ you have obviously watched a lot more American T.V. than I have although I tend to watch it regularly to get a slant on what is happening from different agenda s.
Yes, I am aware that many swear by Fox but perhaps that is because it tells them what they want to hear.
In reality it is no different from here. The Independent, The Times, Irish Daily Mail blushing : The Journal.ie and other papers all have a noticeable class and political bias. Primetime once a wonderful programme [moons ago] is now a predictable liberal leftie programme. No real exposes anymore. I am wary of all News.

RE: Back to work...

Chatillion ~ There is something about working outside the home [for many] that gives a sense of routine to the day. Also when you come home you really appreciate the down time.
I wish you the very best of luck. If you do as told, I think all will be well. You will feel a bit odd for a while but I am sure you will slip back in to the routine. thumbs up

RE: Name ONE positive that has come out of the stay at home.

Germanspritz ~ Dunlaoire [different spellings] is a lovely place, it has improved in past few years and upgraded. Sandycove is beautiful and I was brought up very near there, I lived in Dalkey too which is not far as you know. Dalkey is heavenly.

Glad you are content and happy. We take our minds with us wherever we go. thumbs up

RE: Name ONE positive that has come out of the stay at home.

germanspritz ~ I'm the same. I am content most of the time. I don't need crowds of people or to be entertained. I love to paint, read, walk, and although I don't have a family . I have a few calls daily from people to know how things are.

It's lovely here now in Dublin with sun shining and just in for a walk. Treated myself to an Aero Mint flavour. Little treats mean a lot nowadays.drink pouring

RE: Disappointed in the female specie.

Lukeon ~laugh I thought you were gonna say that people ran away from you..laugh
Thanks for the laugh ! Funny you should mention it because seemingly Europe [don't know about S.Africa] is to have the highest pollen count for over 70years, I read that in Guardian or some semi respectable Newspaper. The thoughts of that is daisy

RE: Want/need

Emmy1 if you are still there I think we need to be happy in ourselves, then we are not waiting on a man to make us happy, to fulfil us. We are emotionally independent. I am not looking just now as Covid19, lockdown and other issues but I guess if Mr. Boom boom came along.heart beating and there was a woosh of electricity, well, the Heart is it's own master. It's nice to be loved. It's nice to have a partner at your back, it's nice to be snuggled in bed [cats and dogs can do that ] but it's nice to have a human do it too and all that being a great relationship entails.

RE: Name ONE positive that has come out of the stay at home.

Vierk ~ In these times a sense of humour helps .laugh I do agree about political correctness gone crazy which is what you were writing about. I think.thumbs up

RE: Name ONE positive that has come out of the stay at home.

Daears ~ ironically, somebody of high rank, well bred, never mentions class. It is considered impolite and crass. tongue Vierk

RE: Name ONE positive that has come out of the stay at home.

Orzzz ~ I've learnt my strengths and weaknesses.

RE: Relax from all the heavy debates on CS.

Amicablesmiles ~ you have a veranda, sounds beautiful. I love the sound of birds. I have about 5 birds nest in my overgrown hedge. Don't want to disturb the nests. Lovely birdsong. I could see myself living a simple life but I need Heat and a proper roof.laugh

RE: What dream do you want to come true, in reality?

spl123 I would love to move from the city where I live. It would entail quite a lot of stuff and am not talking about things I'd have to take with me. I travel light.
I'd love to move but stay on East Coast of Ireland, or since I have UK Passport, perhaps Cotswolds [a dream ]. innocent

RE: Relax from all the heavy debates on CS.

Amicablesmiles ~ If you look at the sky often and see how near the time you are, and get used to birdsong, and position of light. Many other things..you will get to be able to tell the time within 15 mins. Some days are very dark in winter but you'll have a pretty good idea. Taking the Fear out. Growing our own Veggies and fruit even in a food tunnel is a great way to get fresh food with no pesticides.

Recycling clothes is very enjoyable and it is amazing what you can do. There is a designer who does that here in Dublin. Take care thumbs up

RE: Relax from all the heavy debates on CS.

Amicablesmiles ~ Many people who work with nature and on the land, can tell the time by looking at the sky. Weather is watching plants and animals.
Many people can feel the rhythm of the earth quicken in countries where there are seasons, hence 'as mad as a March hare ' animals are tuned in to quickening of movement in the earth and of course moods and feelings of their owners.

We have lost touch in this Computer world , gained a lot but lost a lot more.
Banking would be gone and bartering done instead.
It's all fine and dandy until you get a heart attack and need an up to the minute functioning hospital with surgeons and nurses and modern equipment but I still
try and live a very simple life and we don't need or use half the saucepans and 'stuff'
we have or clothes. Less is more for me. hug

RE: do u believe in angles?

Capricorn ~ It's lovely to see you here with her gentle spirit. Refreshing.

RE: do u believe in angles?

CelticRose Angels and people who appear to their loved ones after death are not one and the same. Those who appear do so in a most unusual way, it takes so most energy that very often it is for a few seconds. It's to give comfort and to say 'I'm still around you but you can't see me' Some people do feel the presence of their dearly departed.

RE: do u believe in angles?

Pedro Why did you write the same blog on the Forums too ? just nosey.grin confused

RE: Zoom

Unfayzed ~ I hope you find something that suits. I hate skype. I don't like modern technology [a lot of it ] and prefer meeting in person. I do appreciate in these times that it is great for people meeting up and especially for those who live alone, us.
I hope you are keeping well, and you little dog. Get a walk in every day if you can.
Take care, stay safe.

RE: Work Restricted

manuman wave
I agree with you about the fine weather being a test.
So many younger people here in Dublin [and elsewhere] feel they're invincible
That its' only the 'oldies' that will get the Covid19

Regarding your job I'm glad it's safe. I do think that those who are working from home will choose to remain there when they are allowed the option of going back .
Traffic in most large cities is a nightmare. Commuting is a pain and expensive for many too.
For many it would be the ideal. Perhaps touching base with the office once a week.
Take care, be Safe.

RE: do u believe in angles?

Hi Pedro
Hope all well with you. Yes, I believe in Angels. I think they've been hijacked by a lot of the people who have angel cards and have never read revelations and haven't a clue what or who they were in the Scriptures.
Isn't the sun great ? 'Had a two hour walk [distancing ] with a friend this evening and I feel gloriously relaxed and it's great to get out of the house. wine

RE: The Irish---and the Choctaw.

Vierk ~ We have a good relationship with the UK now. We do a lot of business with them albeit they have left the Union. It is good to forgive. Healing. However it is hard to forget some of the atrocities and Northern Ireland where loyalists and republicans still co exist the peace in my opinion is sometimes fragile. Let's hope we continue to have peace.
Ireland for it's size also give quite a good deal toward 3rd world poverty. We are not the worst. Despite the legend that we are all rampant alcoholics. laugh
Another day in paradise here as even the birds seem bored and indifferent to my call to have some seeds.

RE: Describe your muse?

spl 123 Has to be a man who is tender enough to love animals and understand them. Who loves music and is sensual intelligent loving. Somebody I can learn from. I usually go for [they go for me ] whichever... writers, actors, artists, poets and seldom have been attracted to high octane business men. An earthy man. fun, laid back and who is not afraid of his feminine side but is man when I need him to be. grin

RE: Do you find that You have learned from the Past?

Spl123 laugh thumbs up thumbs up You decided your life is going to be happy and you're taking no prisoners or baggage you don't need. I love cats too. cats meow

RE: Do you find that You have learned from the Past?

spl123 Yes, you're perfectly correct. I am speaking more of life experiences not work related or theories, or science, which is all about learning from mistakes and having to keep getting it wrong until you get it right, the exact formula.
Nope, I really meant things like the time I sold my home under pressure, a huge mistake. I should have let it go to court as I had lost a very good job [during the crash ] and sold my home. Relationships ~ Going for the same sort of man [I was attracted to a certain type and they were not always what were the ones that were good for me] so I was not learning from the past.
I hope this explains what I meant. Now I don't wear rose coloured glasses in any aspect of my life.

RE: Work Restricted

Manuman Hi again wave
I loved the company in the jobs I had. I worked hard but I made great friends in places where I worked and have kept in touch with many who went abroad during the bad times after the Crash.
If I was married/had kids or a very long commute yes. However there is something about having to look neat and be in at a certain time and take your lunch at a particular time that sets some semblance of order to your life. Just how I felt anyway. The craic on a Friday night out for a few drinks with workmates was always fun too.wine

RE: Do you find that You have learned from the Past?

Ashlander ~ angel thumbs up

RE: Do you find that You have learned from the Past?

spl123 I have learnt some hard lessons, and expensive ones too. I have made some terrible mistakes. I hope I have learnt. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and not learning by your mistakes and expecting a different outcome.

We are all human. I hope I 've learnt and become a better person hug

RE: Dictionary Of Terms In Womens' Personal Ads

DLongg ~ you're brave. It's the Profiles that are here for the past 10years with the same photo, and the 50 year old women with heavily photoshopped profiles that make me laugh, not at the women, at the men who are taken in by it. laugh
All is fair in love and war I guess.
laugh thumbs up

RE: Mr. Wilson Comes to Tea

Harb ~ I get carried away. I presume you want her to be wooden and the same type of character [animation style] as one's you've used. So the same type of woman only perhaps a little more homely.

RE: Mr. Wilson Comes to Tea

Harbal She looks a bit too like a Legal Secretary there, [my opinion of course]. It is your story. In animation do you think that she should be quite different from the 3 characters in her size. Not understanding the logistics of animation. I thought , expressive eyes, hair that is perhaps still long but something girly about her. It's getting late and it will come to me. I think the hedgehog would have to be introduced to Mrs Crompton but it is your story, ? I'll stop now. She is around 60 ? a heart attack or a panic attack mimicking a heart attack from her newly found at home personal Gym with 3 personal trainers Again your story.
