RE: Dr. Oz...

Chat ~ Being housebound now [except for shops and a walk within a certain distance] I watch Dr. Phil. Yes, it's come to that. Dr. Oz I used to read his blogs and articles and I think people like him are extremely dangerous. [Just my opinion]. I can remember he recommended VitD3 for those in Northern Climates.

I duly bought D3 [a good brand] but ended up having an excess [toxic amount] that showed up in bloodworks and the Consultant told me that had I continued it would have been very toxic on liver. People with light coloured skin and eyes don't need very much D. Redheads need practically none. His remedies and advise does not always correlate with Science.

RE: WHAT DO I HAVE TO GET WOMAN TO MESSAGE ME?

Greatguy ~ I see you deleted all the offers of help from fellow bloggers ? Just as a helpful hint. It would have been nice to say thanks to those who went to the trouble of trying to help you in a truthful way.
We can't really find a sould mate until we learn to care, and caring means simple social norms like thanking those who have helped you , not just deleting them.
I still wish you the very best but it is not realistic to narrow down your wants with so many no s. What happens if somebody really lovely from another state writes ? I have travelled to meet people. I hope you find your soul mate, start though perhaps by finding women friends first and then see where it goes from there. thumbs up

RE: WHAT ARE WOMEN REALLY LOOKING FOR?

Greatguy ~ I wish you the very very best of luck. Remember patience, and also don't forget church activities. bouquet

RE: WHAT ARE WOMEN REALLY LOOKING FOR?

Mercedes ~ I just closed down Mercedes as my eyes are gone dry from typing. laugh Thanks for your kind words. I went asleep, it's lashing here and couldn't get out of the place so woke up and had a look in .

RE: WHAT ARE WOMEN REALLY LOOKING FOR?

Hi Loulou.

wave I hope all is well for you.

RE: Protesters crash governor's coronavirus briefing.

Bear ~I live alone and can only go for a walk once a day and then if I need to shop, go to nearest food shop to stock up. This has taken a toll emotionally on me [like everyone else in my boat] as i live alone. I go out a lot for company, to meet people, to go shopping etc., and the days are long and there are only so many books and papers, and T.V. is full of Bad News.

So, why am I continuing to self isolate ? Because it is proving hard but successful in that we now reach a peak, and many are dying each day but the infection rate is down to one as in , the person who got the Coronavirus has only infected one other, when it used to have been a whole load. Which means it is working. If it is helping others to stay well, and even live. I will keep doing this for as long as necessary.

I do think the Scientists and specialist know what they are talking about. Stay safe wave

RE: Captain Apocalypse is back

Wrinklylove ~ Here in East Coast of Ireland where we usually get the warmest weather [that means not as much rain, rain and more incessant rain; we have been told that we are having a warm few days, at 11 to 12c with an east wind. I am going around in a heavy top and you need a warm jacket going out... hardly 'warm' everyone has their heating on at night too. I would love just a little of what you are complaining about, even a week or two, to dry out the bones.laugh thumbs up I hope it cools down a bit for you.

RE: beauty is timeless

Johnny S ~ I love beautiful things around too. Alas I usually see what I want looking in to a window like the little match girl or going through an antique shop. Anything I really want is usually way out of my league financially.
I love old Ginger Jars, small pieces of silver, as in very old hand mirrors and pretty useless things like that, that are beautiful to look at. Really beautiful persian rugs.
I love to visit people with houses full of beautiful clutter but can't live with it myself. That is, since I now live in a tiny cottage. So I get overwhelmed and claustrophobic if there is too much 'stuff'

Your home sounds beautiful. I paint myself but have sold anything that is anyway good. Small handcrafter tables are my favourite [even though they are quite useless for everyday life but I have one I managed to buy week by week]. I don't have a breathless view as here in Dublin, or anywhere in Ireland that costs a hellofalot of money. I do have a cottage type garden though with plenty of colour and character.

RE: Who will save us?

Bogart ~ thanks alotwave To be a 'Nutcase' on C.S. is not being in a certain herd, or a certain type, and that's a compliment. hug Who defines sanity anyway ? it is the best survival mechanism of all don't you know ? grin

RE: Who will save us?

Lovecanbereal ~ For some women it is being married and having children but that does not guarantee bliss or happiness, but happiness 24/7 is not guaranteed despite the rows and rows of self help Books mainly written by new agers living in Malibu who make a lot of money out of the human condition. Take carebeer

RE: Who will save us?

Love Can be Real ~ I think different people have different answers to what success is. To me it is being happy in my skin. Feeling I am giving something back to the world, even if that is doing my best for the environment, it is not how much I have in the Bank anyway.

RE: Who will save us?

Meyer Brigg I still used to this day and very effective [as said]. It's good to know that some people who seem cold and distant, are not necessarily 'bad' people. Ditto the Thinker Feeler from the Questionaire test can seem to have meltdowns and be over sensitive but knowing that , and knowing they are Ok people makes for a more congenial and happy atmostphere at work, and therefore more productive and for interviews for certain jobs, certain personalities are better so it is still used by major American corporations here. I'm a thinker feeler so I guess over emotional at times surprise surprise but I have my place in the parts of the watch like everyone else. wine

RE: Who will save us?

PS~ Sorry should have been 'I would have to agree with you there ' internment is beginning to show.blushing blushing

RE: New report out of Harvard indicates that social distancing may be necessary until 2022 if no vaccine

Jim ~ Herd immunity is questionable. I do know that if I have to stay at home and am just allowed a walk and to go and get food from the shops, and distancing if I do go out, this will not work.
How can people in cities put self distancing in to practice ? logistically it wouldl not work in a restaurant, coffee shop, unless they took out the tables and left quarter the amount, and in doing so, they would have to increase prices greatly to be able to afford to use the space they rent ?

I won't go on..... I am sure there are experts planning it all out but I can't see it working.
What I can see is many many people on antidepressants, and obesity going through the roof. I just bought myself a load of rubbish food [cake and cookies ] while out for my walk. I have not done this until today, something just snapped. I needed that 'hit' that staying at home and reading, going for a long walk coming home to myself and my Cat gives me. I miss being out and about and meeting friends and doing my bit of voluntary work with animals, and I can't even get a garden centre open for gardening. I have no topsoil.

Sorry I went totally off topic. This reply is too long. Thanks for the new Report from Harvard. They do know what they are talking about, I was seeing things from my own perspective and I am used to living alone too. sad flower

RE: The Frigid Midgets

Harbal ~ Yes political correctness has gone insane itself. We have a past pupils Group in the College I went to and we fund gymnastics for 'small people' but they themselves like to be called Dwarfs. Dwarfism is a medical term as you know. I lived all my life in house , where at the end of the room we had a well known Asylum. Then the leftie liberals had it changed to 'Mental home'
There is nothing wrong with the word madness, call a flower a flower. Lunatic as you know comes from the Moon and the full moon does affect the insane. There's another word you aren't allowed use.... insane. Except in a court of law. mumbling doh

RE: The Frigid Midgets

Harbal ~ we have gone Leftie Liberal over the top politically correct over here in the Emerald Isle so we have to call them 'small people' but I may put an advert in DoneDeal or one of those online sites
Offering to buy, or perhaps 'Good home offered' innocent thumbs up

RE: I HOPE ALL of US ARE SAFE

shoelace ~ Yes we must pray during this virus and here in Ireland, we are on lockdown until 5th May and then it will be reviewed, it is the only way to try and get Covid19 under control.
I believe life will never be quite the same again but that could be a very good thing too in many way. Take care and God bless you wave

RE: Yay!

Usha wave
It's all Trump and Covid19 and how many deaths no matter where I look.
I am in Lockdown but because I live alone, my human contact is at the Supermarket, a 'distancing' hello to somebody when out for my long daily walk , and phone calls to friends. Not easy but I will do it as it is necessary wine wine

RE: The Frigid Midgets

Harbal ~ On my two hour walk yesterday [allowed a walk and trip to shops] I deliberately went to our beautiful Airfield Farm/Garden Centre to buy a Gooseberry bush [just on a whim mind you ]innocent
Alas, that too was closed because of Covid 19 .blues

RE: If you love somebody, bring em home

Celtic Rose ~ It was good.steps are in place to see it does not happen again... the usual, in fairness most are ok. It has become the biggest Business. Thanks hug I pray to God I never have to go in to one. To be at the mercy of peoples kindness or unkindness.

RE: If you love somebody, bring em home

Unfayzed I am really sorry you are going through this. I have a friend whose husband in the same position, it is beyond torment.

RE: If you love somebody, bring em home

Celtic Rose ~ Going to see my last real relative before he died recently. I dreaded going to the home.
It was a high end place, very expensive, but I could see past the magnificent flower displays and shiny polished wood floors and exquisite interiors.
Rooms with some people singing, but most hanging off their chairs, with medication to keep them easty to manage, as some were quite agitated with Dementia and Alzeimers. A living death. At the Mercy of the nurses aides and I never saw a nurse once in 3 years. sad flower

RE: The Frigid Midgets

Harbal ~ Unbridled talent. A great mixture to your pen. I really enjoyed it. I hope there's more to follow...Urgeslaugh

RE: The Frigid Midgets

Harbal ~ Jane Austen comes to mind, but a more boisterous version. smitten
