RE: Did the ground move 4 you

Yet another disaster hits the World.

At least 2,000 dead and 10,000 believed missing in Libya as ‘catastrophic’ flooding breaks dams and sweeps away homes.sad flower

RE: Your habits will kill you – eventually. HOW many smokers died over 100??

That's not naughty that's sensible.hug

RE: Did the ground move 4 you

Oh I see , just like someone pressing a red button and causing a nuclear war.

So far A.I is able to detect these incidents but hopefully not cause them.

I live , but not in fear. Que sera sera as they say as not a lot I can do about the madmen that are taking over the world and destroying my peace.handshake

RE: Your habits will kill you – eventually. HOW many smokers died over 100??

Each to their own Suzie . I just read this today in a newspaper but not the Sun so several media are publishing this .

I gave up 23 years ago with the help of hypnotherapy and with no regrets. The average price of a packet of 20 cigarettes is about £12 in the U.K.so glad I'm not letting my money go up in smoke.grin

RE: Did the ground move 4 you

Yes, you haven't told me how man was involved in natural disasters such as earthquakes ,floods and volcanic eruptions. Do tell.handshake

RE: Your habits will kill you – eventually. HOW many smokers died over 100??

Here's a classic example of a 49 year old.

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

Apparently notgrin

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

You'll need to copy and paste to read the link which is long but quite informative.handshake

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Roger Wilco and thanks.handshake

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Not wishing to appear pedantic Luke but Isn't that a case of double standards dunno

Putin deploys Neo Nazis to get rid of Neo Nazis or am I missing something here?

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Hi Luke,

Something else that I have difficulty with is Dmitry Utkin from the Wagner group, and his connection with Putin.

He died alongside Yevgeny Prigozhin apparently,a Nazi tattooed Commander who was reportedly a Neo Nazi who kept a low profile but was known to Putin . Hence why I sometimes question comments re the reason for the attack on Ukraine.

He had strong connections with Prigozhin and the mercenaries and also was involved in the so called coup.

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

M.S.M does not rule my life I do. I don't watch You tube same as Robplum as much of it is biased and I have no interest in being brainwashed.

You know Luke we live entirely different lives as many on C.S ,but I do try to see some people's point of view on various subjects but refuse to be brainwashed by some who are stuck with their ideology and how they see the World.

I read about many things including ASOV ,Zelensky, and the Neo Nazi problem that was the supposed reason for Putin's attack on Ukraine. I read about Ukraine when it had a Russian president and the fall out that ensued when he was deposed. Yes I see Putin as an autocrat who wants to control , an extremely wealthy man ,no different than the U.S. heads, though he has total control and Russia is far removed from being a democracy. More like a Federal semi-presidential republic under an authoritarian dictatorship and my thoughts are for the Russian people as a whole and the many who have defected because of Putin and this situation.

We read about so much through so many channels but just exactly what is believable. You have to live in Russia or Ukraine to understand the political issues surely.

Neither Biden nor Trump interest me as they are past their sell by date and should never have been elected into the position of President. Both have caused problems within World politics .

Here's something else I read about too re Douglas McGregor trying to be unbiased. I guess it's easy to by wise after the event.

All the above is how I see things from the sidelines and how I feel about certain situations. The world's a huge place and I do see other hot spots but that's another blog.grin

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Funny you mentioning those attacks as you pal McGregor was the top planner regards the bombing of Yugoslavia and the Middle East attacks on Syria Iraq etc to my knowledge.

dunno

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Well I was trying to have a reasonable discussion about my personal thoughts but seems people are stuck in a bubble .sigh

RE: Not 'FOR' or 'AGAINST'

Twisted ideology is a dangerous game .

It is unlikely that anyone has always heard an unbiased versions of events. So, to continually take one person's side over the other may be imprudent as we may later discover additional facts that suggest our initial conclusions weren't correct. Hence my reasons for attempting to stay neutral but getting kicked to the kerb by some posters.

The human race has learned nothing over the years with regards weapons of mass destruction.Humans have an amazing ability to cling to mistaken beliefs. We can be overconfident, underestimating the ruin of war and overestimating our chances of victory.

When leaders go unchecked and are unaccountable to their people, they can ignore the costs of fighting that ordinary people bear. Instead, rulers can pursue their own agendas.

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

@Lukeon

I agree with Brics in many ways Luke . Times are changing and not before time.handshake

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

Something else that I have considered is this.............

Agreeing that something needs to change is one thing, but agreeing on how to work together is another. India and China have been at loggerheads over borders for years Will that all change ? I also think that these countries such as India, South Africa and Brazil want relations with the West as much as they do with China and Russia.

Knowing and watching how countries are rearing their heads against each other ,sometimes at the drop of a hat is this going to be sustainable.handshake

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

I did make the exception to about half way.

I can understand why Brics is popular with many countries who would like trade in their own currency instead of the dollar go between but can it sustain itself globally and for how long? As far as I can recall the U.K was in discussion with this possibility some years back.

dunno

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

Price conversion of BRICS cryptocurrency to US Dollar. As of Aug 26, 2023, 10:49 UTC, the exchange rate is 1 BRICS equals $0.000000000001.dunno

RE: Shameful disgraceful behaviour

Goodness Jac this has been completely blown out of proportion. Spain win the World Cup,huge excitement and spur of the moment things happen. Watch a football match and when someone scores a goal the men hug and yes sometimes kiss each other. Should we then assume that it's s*xual harassment.dunno

Just my way of seeing things without getting too p.c about the whole situation.handshake

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

I was actually trying to understand just what is taking place but never mind.sigh

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

That's a big if but one that is becoming a necessity if only people would open their eyes to the damage we do to each other.sigh

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

I realise that Butcher as I stated it in my post .I am more concerned as to how it will affect the World economy as some countries are far worse off than others even in Niger where poverty is rife for the average person.

handshake

RE: One Belt and Road Initiative growing stronger

Morning from the U.K. Robwave

As the average person living a well ordered life financially ,I am floundering with regards the effect BRICS could possibly have on the World economy.

There is Global China and Global US (for now), but not Global anything else and from what I am led to understand both these economies are teetering on the edge. Should we not be uniting rather than dividing and why do we need"super powers" when we are all in it together so to speak.

Is dividing our World further by splitting economies such a good idea . I understand that there are more countries that wish to join BRICS so just how far do you think this will go and what is your personal take .handshake
