How many do you think are feeling it here?
Most everyone can intellectualize themselves to death about their perception of love and getting along with one another.

Yet, how many are really feeling for anyone here?
When most everyone is building barriers and walls against the very thing they seek.

Mostly out of fear they won't be understood. How can anyone love another if they refuse to offer it or afraid by assuming that everyone is a scammer or fake or out to emotionally harm them.

If everyone is hiding behind a computer and 4000 to 10,000 miles away what real harm can anyone do to another?

A rather unique but, valid point. However, in this arena nobody will find the love they may be seeking if most are reluctant to engage in communicating what they want.

As many put on their resume of what kind of person they think they are but, refuse to convey or communicate how wonderful they think they are or block people trying to learn of their motives, then it's a contradiction to seek but, not willing to reciprocate communication

We have about 1,000,000 people here who have their motives why they are here. Most for political reasons others for poetry and others for writing blogs and ideas that will not add or improve the lives of anyone here.

At the end of day it's hard to discern any mutual understanding between anyone.

Haha I've met over a dozen people from CS, male and female, with both friendly or romantic intentions, but that was pre-Trump, happier times when there were lots of single people who wanted to connect other single people. Some are now in good relationships (one couple even via CS!) and some have given up trying to blog or even log in because what's the point and of course some were simply weird.

Bit like my premium bonds - never got a life-changing win, but occasionally a pay-out laugh

What is really scary is how most every blog not even associated with politics that somehow they always bring up the one person they despise and or fear. It's amazing how one person has such an impact on the multitude.

It's unique that nobody here will ever make such an impact on the lives of others here in the same manner.

As for meeting a dozen or so people from here was that in person within Spain? Or did they all spend the time and money to meet from all corners of the earth?

I hardly doubt that. Most would be lucky to chat one on one via Skype or some other platform.
I can't picture people coming from America or Asia to incorporate cost of flight and hotel to visit the friends they made here.
If everyone especially the boys here could afford to jet set and globe trot to meet women they would be able to attract a higher quality and caliber of people. Dr's lawyers Indian chiefs etc. not your average material handler in a factory or truck driver or medical assistant or Susie homewrecker.

Can't be any worse than this zoo. You can always make comparison notes between meeting people in person vs meeting them here or elsewhere. Back in the 80s when Macy's bought a company called Bambergers as a customer service worker for appliance sales like TVs and stereos çustomers were buying Marantz Fischer Pioneer stereos like they were the latest craze. In the 80s Trans AM cars were the craze like corvettes are today. Fascinating how electronics and cars seem to go hand in hand. Ghetto blasters aka Boom boxes as well were the fad then. People liked big Boom Boxes small sports cars big Stereos. Today we have everything small. Cell phones to mp3 players to fit in our pocket, small to mid size electric cars, tablets and cell phones that can do functions faster than the first tube type computers that IBM put together which took the space of a one bedroom apt. only to make a punch card.

Technology is moving so fast and everything is getting smaller and a throwaway culture. The days of big clunker RCA and Phillips TVs to clunker stereos are just lost into antiquity. Anyone who has such stuff might draw a good price for a nostalgia moment. It's even rare to find LPs and soon CDs will be something of a novelty.

Set your expectations low enough to avoid disappointment is a good general rule to go by on this site.

The majority of people on CS have been loitering here for years and 90% have probably never found a true friend or ever met in person aside maybe a Skype conversation. The old saying life is like a sewer you get out of it what you put into it.

Overall, unless we learn to have a healthy relationship within ourselves we can't expect anyone outside of ourselves to give what we should already have. Hence, we can't give to another what we don't have ourselves.

When it comes to hypocrisy we need to have a good definition of the word. To tell one person to behave one way to suit us but, we personally behave another way is contrary to what we asked another to do.

What we really see is a contradiction imo. To play on a dating social site and create profiles of asking someone to be our friend and possible lover or whatever or creating a bullshit idea of ourselves of how wonderful of a person we think we are but, selectively or not even correspond with one another privately to ascertain how wonderful we are is a contradiction of why anyone is here.

It's a contradiction to be complaining and criticizing one another one day then praising only those who kiss our a**.

It's a contradiction to write poetry of passion although it's nice to read yet, never having an opportunity to act upon the very ideas people write about.

The old saying the road to Hell is paved with good intentions still rings true. The fool we choose not to reply to who shows interest in us may be the very fool we need in our lives.

If we respond to only those who feed our ego and cast aside those we don't agree with or those we just refuse to take the time to learn who they are we could be missing out on something we need.

The universe never gives us what we want or when we want. Yet, it does give what we need in its perfect timing.

Many unique points of view. Yet, there is somewhat of a contradiction. If we read the many profiles of women here in one breath they speak of personal empowerment which is fine. They no longer want to be labeled as Susie homemaker of the 50s. After many failed relationships they like to enumerate all the things they don't want in a relationship and create an idea of the quality of a relationship they would like to have. Hence, it boils down not to seek outside of oneself to place expectations on another but, isn't it more of a goal to find the qualities we seek within ourselves and in the hope we can find someone that will validate and enhance our lives?
The golden rule still applies do unto others what you want for yourself. The contradiction of this arena is such there are millions of people on here in the hope of making some kind of intellectual and emotional connection and to find shared values and beliefs. What often happens is arguments and bickering over which gender is more together.

You have the women here fawning over who can write fancy borderline erotic poetry or who can write better political arguments or how everyone should behave in the community.

At the end of the day most still sleep alone at night smoking the last smoke pondering over what kind of responses they get from their blogs or poems.

As for the boys here trying to over analyze the behavior of the ladies here it's futile. If you are lucky to reach the heart of woman at any level you accomplished a milestone. Once you can do that they will open like a flower in other areas.

Discounting the contradiction of women in the porn industry who for the right price will dance don't place any hope on this site just because a guy writes a poem or a blog.

The old saying nice guys finish last at least they finish. Being a badass is like role playing when it's appropriate and if the girl is in the mood for it. Overall, if the girl or guy of interest is not much of a challenge to conquer there is no interest or real value.

Anyone or anything that is easily available there is no real value. Yet, if we have to work for it much like ball players who beat themselves up over a ball it has greater value.

A pearl is but a grain of sand that agitates an oyster and eventually it dies because of the pain.

A relationship with a good woman if there is no pain that comes with it has no value.

The choice many have to make is what quality and quantity of pain one is willing to put up with for that pearl.

Considering that 60% of the population here are divorced and wear that idea as a rite of passage and some sort of honorary badge one has to question what guarantee does anyone offer that they will not have another failed relationship?

Hence, it appears why bother getting involved with anyone here knowing the probable outcome is nothing will become of it.

There is that percentage of hope and maybe that is why the same people are still here still playing the game. Yet, most are not even playing anymore. They just like the blogs and the community and maybe the insanity.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Its no different than going to a used car dealership. People and cars come in all sizes colors and shapes. Many have much mileage some not so much. They all come with something wrong with them under the hood and a dating site like this is not going to screen out who has what going on. Instead everyone here has to market themselves based upon their own perception of self.
We sell an idea that we are a suitable ride for someone out there. Chances are 89% of the population is not going anywhere and still loitering around on the lot rusting away. The more we sit the older we get the less desirable we get.

So, set your expectations low to avoid disappointment. Our chances of getting any real relationship going in person is slim to none. Unless people have a couple thousand bucks laying around to run off to Europe or Asia or to any state in America our chances of hooking up are slim.

Many here have become jaded and apathetic and sold out to writing blogs as a form of entertainment. So, just go with the flow and watch for the scammers as it's a haven for them here.
As some pointed out it's a free site hence, anything free has no value intrinsic or otherwise. Nobody has no monetary or emotional investment so they are not going to put much effort into what they seek.

One would consider this site is full of jaded miserable folks, men and women alike. As long as everyone lives 1000s of miles away nobody can expect much sex here. Plus those who dont put much effort into communicating privately they cannot expect much in return. Placing a resume on here will not be the turn key business of finding that ideal mate. One thing to consider that the rift between Israel and Palestine is no different than the wars and battles fought 1000s of years ago between Israel and Babylon. Following the end of WWI and WII Israel being once again a displaced nation as to consider ancient Egypt didn't want them aside to use them as slaves so the Bible likes to explain however, no definitive records that Egypt enslaved Israelites. When they were taken as slaves in Babylon modern day Iraq they fought for their freedom then. Fast forward to post WWI and WWII after everything was resolved the United Nations was formed and that organization assigned the Gaza strip to Israel bc somehow Israel believed it belonged to them as part of the covenant between Abraham and God. The existing Palestinian/Arabs frowned upon this idea because nowhere in their Koran was this written. America is basically run by Israel. They run the US government be they lawyers senators or congressmen. This is why the wars between the Arabs and the Jews have been going on for over 6000 years. America was founded upon the biblical ideas brought over by the pilgrims in the 15th century along the Spanish and English and Dutch who also conquered and built America as it is today.

So, in essence, America answers to Israel as its really the promised land. Nobody today will ever fix the hatred between the Arabs and Jews. Oh they cry and lament over the fighting and death but, at the end of the day as they see their worlds in rubble their children dead its all about religion and money.

In the middle of it all the Christian world who wants to sing Kumbaya and hold hands try to throw bibles at both sides thinking it will stop the killing.
However, we also have to take in account of the crusades in the 11th century between the Christians and Muslims who in their noble attempt to convert the Muslim world.

It didn't work out so well then. So, how do we resolve an attitude and belief system that only leads to death? In the end Nobody wins. After awhile we forget why we are fighting.

Then as the news media frenzy begins to decry what is going on today, its almost a wag the dog moment to distract attention from the Biden corruption and the Trump trials.

This is very typical when the heat is on a sitting administration. They conveniently have a new distraction through an international crisis. The big guy is being tested now of what to do. Judging by his current response to the crisis he could barely talk as he tried to show his anger and resolve to make it appear he was going to settle the score.

Here is where everything seems to fall apart. As the US goes running to the rescue to defend Israel feeding them weapons and ammo plus nukes, what do the Arabs have to defend with but a rocks and old equipment bought from Russia?

I'm not defending either side yet, it's always the image the US holds to defend Israel. Yet, we rarely hear the argument of the other side.

People go on a social site like this and think they feel closer to a few folks they meet or choose to put up with, when in most cases most are pretty much alienated from one another in one form or another.

Just look at your inbox to see just how many really want to further get involved? No pill or fruit and veggies supplement will bring us any closer to feeling connected to anyone here.

Overall, no matter how much serotonin we can produce or alter if it really could improve our personalities and attitudes towards each other we then would have more happier people and reaching out to one another as all the Bible thumpers and spiritualists hope for.

We can intellectualize our emotions until we are blue in the face and even philosophizing it until Socrates and Plato awards us with a Nobel yet, when it comes to fully expressing our feelings to one another we are still just faces on a site or robots.

People today turn to Artificial Intelligence because they can program an AI friend to respond better than people can. Yet, AI robots cannot fully experience human emotions or behavior patterns.

AI does not need pills or a fancy diet to maintain its existence. It just needs power with a switch. You turn the switch off, game over.

On social media like this we try to do the same with people by blocking them from emailing us. Yet, one thing we can't do is shut out the experience(s) we had with them.
Unfortunately, that stays with us sometimes forever and shapes who we are and how we respond or react to others.

Find a pill or holistic method to eliminate the bad experiences we had with people and only keep the good ones that would be a wonderful leap in the medical world.

This idea would apply to all. As long as people hold resentments of the past of what could or would be or been, there is an element of mistrust with self judgment. Greater are regrets of things we should or could have experienced than the things we already have experienced. Many profiles of people here love to point out the things they don't want in a relationship than the lofty unrealistic things they do want in a relationship. Perhaps, what the author is saying unless or until people stop projecting their past failures and assumptions and mistrust of the world around them, opportunities will open.

Know thyself comes to mind. You get what you give. If you want love, health, healing, and knowledge of self, one has to be willing to give it.

In theory this may sound good but, in practical application many fail or there would not be so much wrong in the world today.

Real freedom is letting go of all that binds us in our thoughts and actions. Letting go of hate, fear, prejudice, anger, resentment. How can the world heal if it still harbors these things?

If people want love and compassion they must start offering it. Not selectively according to ego but, equally to all.

Nevertheless, this response will be challenged.

There are approximately 1 to 2 million people on this site who can't communicate effectively of their true needs or wants or motives aside complaining about social politics. Yet, many who have been here for years and part of the furniture and have little to nothing to offer or noteworthy ideas to improve the human condition.

Then there are the locals who are equally part of the CS furniture who never seem to communicate what they want or very selective of who they want to dance with.

Overall, it's a contradiction to be on a social site where nobody communicates to one another. Or selectively communicates. Playing on forums or writing poetry or blogs does not always show the true motives or personalities people have behind the profiles. Viewing people or sending a like here and there says little if one is not willing to communicate a step further to learn of others if they have any common interests.

Writing definitions of communication from Wikipedia or a dictionary if nobody practices it then why bother?

We may have come a long way but, unfortunately through all of our evolution we still have not overcome our ability to get along or there would not be the continuous crime and chaos we see in the news. We can determine the quality of human behavior and evolution of life by the criminals it houses. In spite of the few who act up in a bad way there has been tremendous strides of human development in medical, space, computer technology.

Now, we even have AI to eventually be the norm of relationships between people. Hence, websites like this will be passe, old hat, and useless.
