wave G, I don't think I could do this job, and certainly not for as long as she has been at it.
Many years ago, I had seriously considered becoming an Air hostess whilst engaged in formal swimming classes. Candidates interested in applying for such a job had to have achieved a certain level of marine life-saving competency, and, whilst I tried hard to do so, I wasn't able to. So the dream ended there.sad

I wonder what the training requirements were like for her, in those days?hmmm

Pursuing one of my childhood dreams....

No gal...my next appointment date. This'll be the 3rd one.

Pursuing one of my childhood dreams....

Yes 'mr. funnyman'. With your criteria, I would most definitely fail!laugh

Pursuing one of my childhood dreams....

"Now, someone I know may say (again), that the "Gods might be trying to tell me something", but I prefer to think that it's the bad "juju" that he has been sending my way (with his negative made-up scenarios).Oh well, I'm hoping that the 3rd time is the charm, and that I'll get past this hurdle on the 7th of July, same time, same place (that's the next available date that I could get).

Until then, it's a waiting gamesigh sigh sigh

Pursuing one of my childhood dreams....

Anyhoo, The following wasn't what I had hoped to report after my trip to the Licensing office, but It is what it is.

Unfortunately, in my haste and excitement earlier today, I changed handbags (as we women tend to do), and forgot the envelope containing the required docs for my appointment, at home! I got there early, so imagine my joy, then horror, when I looked for the envelope and realized what had happened.sad

I didn't give up though; I proceed to the Regulations section, and, when I got to the counter, related the situation to the attendant. There, I not only found out that I could not proceed without a Utility bill, but also that I really did HAVE to provide a Medical Certificate (even though the information that I read previously only indicated it as a requirement for 65+ yr olds.crying

Now, someone I know may say (again), that the "Gods might be trying to tell me something", but I prefer to think that it's the bad "juju" that he has been sending my way (with his negative made-up scenarios).

EMERGENCY UPDATE:
As of yesterday afternoon, the islands of the Southern Caribbean and some of South America are officially under Storm Watch.

Almost all schools and some businesses are closed in preparation for the Storm, and of course all government safety and disaster preparedness agencies are on the alert. What this means for me, personally, is that even if we successfully come through the storm (God alone knows for sure), my appointment at the Licensing Office may (again) be postponed.

Sadly....my 'dream' continues to be deferred.sad

RE: mayonnaise...

Pure madness!!! shock He was either on some illegal substance or totally out-of-his mind crazy! Shooting someone for putting too much mayonnaise on your sandwich is.....wow.roll eyes confused

Some things I’ve learnt along the way…(pt. 3)

".... but if you really like someone, what does it matter ... things change for better for worse but only you know if what makes you happy, is enough to keep you happy."

I agree with you on this CW....thumbs up wine

wave Merlot...we 'meet' againsmile And no, you haven't completely confused me.
I totally agree with you when you said:

"Being aware of the affect our interaction has with others is good but not to the point where it overly troubles us. (still working on this part sigh)
If we are receptive to hints of our bad behaviour and our annoying habits that is a good thing because we can within reason rectify certain things for the sake of harmony. That is normal and we hope others are like minded."

As for the latter part of your comments, not so much. You see, for me, it's not about trying to change/control others, nor about others trying to change/control me. Rather, it's about me using what I've learnt from the past to change/control myself, but only according to what I think needs to be changed/controlled.

Some things I’ve learnt along the way…(pt. 3)

Hello optimistic, thanks for your comments.

My blog isn't about "...what I want in life...". but about what I've learnt. Since I live in a world with other people, the effects of my interactions with others are important, and especially if those interactions are with persons within my 'sphere'. Whilst, I'm not, by nature, a 'people pleaser', I've learnt that I prefer to have harmonious relationships, and not antagonistic ones.
Everything cannot be just about ME. scold

Some things I’ve learnt along the way…(pt. 3)

wave CW, my focus isn't from the point of my personal worth as it regards being deserving of romantic love, but from the point of what people seem to value more as they grow older. I've seen and heard the way that many of life's physical concerns overshadow emotional ones (such as romantic love).
For example, many people would rather that the person/s they date be financially independent/secure themselves, so as not to have to be depended upon to provide financial support to them. That would put a 'strain' on the relationship that romantic love may not survive.

Dating disasters

Getting a wiff of drink from him on our first date would of been a massive turn off for me, but having said that, if there was something I liked about him and felt maybe a little connection to him in some way,I would of given him another chance but if the wiff was there again on the second one ... then it would of been a definite bye bye from me "

I agree with you CW. Silly me was not reading the signs, and was trying not to be too judgemental. doh However, I'm learning to pay more attention to my instincts... sigh roll eyes
