RE: Winter is not coming!

I've done my research and I'm pleased to say that it was easily understood, makes good sense and it shows without doubt that humans have caused the problem this time.
All the studies, methodologies and results are published together with explanatory notes.
You will know this of course and you will have studied them which is why you are able to refute them all.
The only thing I couldn't find was information on recent natural catastrophic events which could be shown to raise global temperatures.
So if you please can you post your findings.
I assure you that I will give them my full unbiased attention.

RE: Winter is not coming!

So what natural catastrophes have pushed the global temperature up in the past 100 years?

RE: Media Manipulation

"Can you think of any examples of media manipulation happening today? Feel free to post."

Why don't You give us some examples of your own to kick things off about Media Manipulation. That one in the copy and paste image is someone elses and it's not a good example because one is very active and in the limelight wheras the other is not.

Or did you want really want to talk about Climate Change.

RE: What Will Smart Homes Look Like Soon?

Smart technology is great for people who are unable to carry out necessary actions. As well as people with disabilities if someone who was able to look after their own personal needs had a stroke or an accident and were now unable to do so they would welcome this type of functionality.
For the majority of able people what is the benefit to them. I don't get it. People who have too much money. Those who are lazy. Some will want to impress others, who are truthfully not impressed.
Perhaps the real benefit will be for the Billionaires. The race is probably on to be the first Trillionaire.

RE: Xi a ‘Dictator’

Luke, he's factually wrong in both cases. China is a Socialist Republic and Xi is a Socialist. The CCP is Communist in name only and would adhere to Socialism with emphasis on Marxism in relation to the Economy.
China's economic situation is one of the best in the world, the key indicators are all good.
Every country has some issues which need to be dealt with and China is making great progress in dealing with theirs. I hope this is an unbiased explanation of the situation in reality.

RE: Toast...

My advice is go back to the sandwich bread. You got your warning and your lucky break, don't push it. beer

RE: Toast...

This blog should be in the Comedy section or needs a new section for Dumb and Dumber.
First you buy a $10 toaster to save like $10.
Is it a pop-up toaster which switches off.
Did you jam the bread in.
You have a Powder room!
You didn't switch it off before abandoning it.

Worst of all you nonchalantly blog about it all, twice.

Oh and it reminds you of TRUMP!

Just out of interest, does Everything remind you of Trump.

RE: Vacation in the Gaza strip

A quote from the comments section following an article about the Israel/Hamas conflict.

"Having been lightly prodded by the Biden administration the Netanyahoo regime in Palestine agreed to split its days into a 20 hours block dedicated to genociding Palestinians and a 4 hours block for ethnic cleansing."

RE: Vacation in the Gaza strip

The target is Israel according to this article.

"Tehran sees the Hamas attacks on Israel as the beginning of a longer confrontation with the latter. In essence, the doctrine that the IRGC has built around this long war seeks to make Israel bleed slowly over a long period of time. As senior IRGC commanders have asserted, “the Palestinian operation is the beginning of the Resistance Axis’ movement to destroy Israel.”

In other words, even when this Hamas-Israel conflict eventually settles down, Tehran is preparing for more escalations, albeit from different fronts—and this is where Syria becomes particularly important."

RE: A World Without Crime

The money prisoners earn is pocket money. They get full board accommodation and privilages they choose to avail of at no cost.
You need to compare your pocket money after paying all living expences to theirs.

RE: You didn't have a prayer Mike...

That was pure bravado. I bet he got a rapturous response from the audience for that one.

Lets see.

RE: You didn't have a prayer Mike...

Do politicians regularly lie? Yes.
Do politicians regularly break campaign promises? Yes.
Do the people always believe what politicians tell them? No, they are always sceptical.
Do politicians appear to put on an act when addressing the people? Yes, quite often.

Are you always deceived by politicians because they regularly break campaign promises and lie to you? If you are then you are naive and one of the few.

Politicians lie regularly. They tell you things you want to hear, it's all part of the act. Other people that lie a lot are lawyers. We don't expect these people to tell the truth.

So, politicians don't actually lie in the true sence of the word, because they are well known for lying and you are not deceived. Wake up and enjoy the coffee coffee

RE: Carbon emissions is not the core of climate change

Yes the warmer atmosphere can carry more moisture which results in more rain and therefore more flooding.

The elephants are dying in Africa because their temperature has risen due to the constant heat. This has affected their immune system which cannot now cope with a killer bacteria, one which prior to this heat never affected them.

The oceans are warmer too which may be affecting whales in a similar manner. This one is just a comment from me, no backup on this.

Do you think the same may have wiped out the Dinosaurs, that may have taken a million years, who knows.

It mat be just large animals that are affected first. Birds were around back then so it didn’t wipe out all life.

RE: Bootgate: How tall is Ron DeSantis...

"That's not the kind of person who should be making unqualified, blanket and remote medical decisions about women's reproductive health."

I agree that unless he has done some deep diving into women's reproductive health he would be unqualified to make these decisions. thumbs up

Lord Ron DeSantis.

RE: What Now..??

Luke you're welcome, you know more about this than I do.

RE: What Now..??

Edit: c. 100 ad.

My point is that Israelis (Jews) and 'Palestinians' (whatever their religion) were on that land thousands of years ago, not solely jews. The name change may have been misleading. The Romans may have split the land in different proportions in 100 ad but nothing like the land grabbing that Israel has done in recent decades.

US support for Israel doesn’t make sence in modern times. It gives the impression the they are hoping for the extinction of all Palestinian areas with complete integration under Israel. Just my opinion.

RE: You didn't have a prayer Mike...

Unemployment stats.

US: 3.4%
Russia: 3.7% ?
Germany: 5.4%
France: 7%
Uk: 4.3%
Australia: 3.6%
Philippines 4.4%
Ireland 4.2%

Ireland is said to have almost full employment at c.4% so I presume other countries are the same. The reasons are obvious.

The US probably has Full employment.

Note: most countries have between 50% and 70% employment rate, US has 62%. The reasons for this are also obvious.

Beware of obfuscation.

RE: What Now..??

Here are a few basic facts about the history put as simply as I can.
3000 years ago Israelis (Jews) and Palestinians (this name was later given to them by the Romans, if I recall correctly in c.1000ad) lived as neighbours on large areas of lands of almost equal sizes. So both sides existed at that time in small numbers.

Within the past 100 years jews started arriving from around the world to both countries but after a time most realized their error and moved to Israel. There was no real organisation or direction prior to ww2.

In 1948 the British appointed a Jewish High Commissioner which obviously left the Palestinians at a disadvantage.

In the early 60's the US started arming Israel and continues to do so.

The PLO highjackings were non-violent until Israeli troops stormed a plane and started the killing. After that the Palestinians took to violence.

You all know what has happened since (the 60's).

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

Good to know your thoughts on the matter.
I thought it was relevant to state my experience. However you too don't appear to be familiar with the case.
My understanding of a debate is to state your case and present your arguments. Nowhere have I seen advice or instruction to make a case for the other side.
Your sole purpose in entering the conversation is to attempt to ridicule me and that's fine with me so have at it it's no duck off my back, or something like that.

RE: Equality For Women

Haha, thanks for the instruction however you have presumed too much. Let me enlighten you.

I actually did as you said but when I looked behind me I noticed three young children had joined her so I stood back against the wall as she hooshed the children through.

Hope this helps.

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

cheers Luke

Great match, well done SA.

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

Churlish, no. Let me explain why.

I do impart knowledge that I have gained from information which is not readily available such as original history books written by Lenin, Marx etc. Also books written in modern times by war correspondents etc.

But where information is readily available on the Internet I always recommend people to go to the best original source available thus cutting out the likelihood of bias by intermediaries.
Sometimes I include links but other times I allow people to choose their own source in order not to be influenced by me.

Hope this helps.

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

There's no point in me continuing on this topic with you as you are uninformed and ill prepared and you clearly lack experience of big business whereas I have experienced many of these types of issues which leaves the debate one-sided. No reflection on you though as none of us knows anything until we learn about it. Cudos for giving it a go but I don't think you tried too hard on this one, opinions are useful in some situations but not in this case.

RE: Equality For Women

Hey Catfoot, Recently I held a door open for a woman who I was aware was following me. I stood back while holding the door to let her pass. On her way passed she gave me a contemptuous look and muttered something. I can't lip read but it seemed like "Are you the feckin hotel porter", something like that.

A week or so later I was following a woman into a shop. When she reached the door she stopped and waited. Apparently that was my que to rush forward and open the door for her.

It seems we're all having difficulty transitioning to equality or wokeness or feminism or whatever it's called.
I bet that on balance society will not be better because of this.

Bring back the days when men could be gentlemen and women could be ladies.laugh

RE: Rep. Dean Phillips is challenging Biden in Democratic presidential primary

DNC have doners to answer to. Whoever will tow the party line will be acceptable. The DNC financial controller can lay it out for them.

Who are the Biggest Donors?

Of course low ajenda decisions can be made without constraint but lobbying is the big deal.

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

@Jac, "Also, banks have a finite amount to lend."

Not this one, up to $80 Billion to "circulate".

"I can't think of why it might have been an advantage to any bank to agree to very large loans at favourable rates without enough asset security."

Really?

RE: Stormy Wednesday...

@jac, "If it took that much effort to verify information, people would have to wait years to get a loan and banks would make a loss having invested that much time and money into investigating."

So are you saying they just went along with Trump’s figures in ignorance?

One can get the recommended three valuations in a matter of days, that is the reality.

Regarding my post your responce didn't address my points.

RE: More Important

@Catfoot "Few things can annoy me more than people who think their cause is more important than others who are in a similar situation"
Agreed. Politicians are likely to go with whatever is popular, the judicial system too because bills are prepared by politicians.
Take any example you like and you will find that priorities will shift to the popular causes resulting in other critical issues suffering financially because the focus has shifted.
