Your comment is fair but there are also males who boast a degree PhD and all - yet they can't even spell correctly.
With regards to the $25,000 - well it is a fact that there are employers from countries who hire skilled workers with degrees and experience and just because of a worker's citizenship - one is offered a salary way less than employees from countries.
