io - We are all smart & dumb when compared to certain others. Plotting the data for every large population yields a bell shaped curve with the largest grouping in the middle. So, it is all relative.

Please know, that our 'roots' were that of English colonies and our language is English. So, whatever you are astonished at, may be rooted in history. If you are referring to C. versus F., we generally use F. when conversing with the neighbors and reserve C. for more scientific conversations.

G - that's a good point. They have been married since 1988, which is eons compared to most Hollywood marriages. They both acted together on Family Ties.

cr - She's an ex-girlfriend, not an ex-lover. At one time we were steady & exclusive. Not anymore. Now it's a friends with benefits program. It's much better this way.
ch - It was in the 90's (F) here today also. I used a sun block lotion on my exposed skin though. So, no burns for me today.
Perhaps they understand your worth, but are taking you for granted since you are reliably good. Then again, with the added experience, you are likely more valuable, if they haven't been giving you increases. Perhaps get some resumes out there and see what else is available.
As far as dating is concerned, get yourself out there. Go out dancing with one of the younger guys that hit on you, so that other available men see you out there. You have a nice smile. Smile at one of the men closer to your age. If that doesn't motivate him. Smile a bit later and add a wink.
If he finds you appealing, that should be motivating enough.
Good point & good timing, La. Unfortunately, similar backward thinking still exists in the bigots of today. They have not grown intellectually, nor embraced co-existance. They have not evolved with the rest of us.
