Covid acts as a catalyst, prompting a hidden illness to become potent, hence pneumonia and other types of illnesses causing death, to suggest covid is NOT the killer is very shortsighted, as those who died may well have lived for decades longer and died a natural death.
Still no electricity, water in Southern Cebu, Bohol and several other badly hit areas, the death toll has yet to be finalised as there are hundreds missing.
And yet still some think bellyaching about some vaccine is more important
Going by the CS anti-vaccine regiment, there won't be many Reps left to vote by 2024, and those left, that are vaccinated, are by CS standards, too stupid to vote Republican.
And if you are suggesting the democrat senate are leaving in droves then you miss that the REP senate will also mostly be dead by 2024.
Kind of shooting oneself in the foot by the republicans.
According to the Manchester Evening news, there were 132 hospitalizations in the UK in the last week from omicron, 205 were unvaccinated, the majority had two vaccinations and 17 had the booster shot, showing the vaccine with the booster is actually working.
It is just as likely the governments want to reduce the burden on hospitals, and reduce unnecessary preventable deaths.
80-90% of hospitalisations in the UK since mid-Nov are those unvaccinated, indicating the vaccines are working well, especially the booster as those above 60 years are rare to be hospitalised.
To assume the governments are using a virus to take control of citizens is an assumption only a tin hat wearer would make.
Governments already control the population. they have no need to add an expensive virus into the mix
Well Doh, obviously the N95/FFP2 type mask is better, but they are not always available to those who need them, The US is a first world country as in Canada, but this virus is not selective as per country, there are millions of people worldwide who would have to decide if a mask is better than eating or drinking for two-three days. Cost is an important factor.
As said before ANY type of face covering is better than none, even a hand can reduce the spread from a sneeze or cough.
For your information, I am both a British and Kenyan citizen, so when refused entry to the Philippines I was sent to the country of the passport I used which is the UK, had I realised I would be in the UK for 2 years I would have used my Kenyan passport and gone there, but I foolishly assumed I would be in the UK for two months max on the advice of the Philippine customs officer.
Hope that satisfies your question. and please, don't expect me to reply again.
The devastation the typhoon has caused is beyond incredulous, the death toll is now up to 326, while 58 are missing, Hundreds of thousands are homeless, and a week has gone by with no electricity, water and communications, and it will take several more weeks to rectify.
The British Red Cross is giving aid where they can, but the most important right now is getting water to the southern parts still cut off with blocked roads from landslides etc.
Cebu and Visayas regions of The Philippines will not be enjoying a very happy Christmas this year.
Those who voice constantly that masks don't work, how about you use your time to invent something better?
Whatever YALE has come up with it is interesting the report has not been peer-reviewed yet, not been approved by any credible medical authority, so is, in fact, totally meaningless.
Any covering of the mouth and nose HAS TO HAVE SOMEE EFFECT, I was taught as a child to cover my mouth with my hand if I coughed, I was also taught to use a tissue or handkerchief if I sneezed, both done to protect those around me from any germs I may carry.
Until someone comes up with a better way to limit infection a mask makes total sense when in a place surrounded by people.
Apart from the lag in reporting time you fail to take notice that those hospitalised are those mainly unvaccinated and by large percentage compared with vaccinated, they are taking up the beds the sick vaccinated left when they recovered, but now the recovery rate is also dropping as the unvaccinated die rather than recover.
You can twist statistics whichever way you want, the FACT REMAINS THA GETTING VACCINATED SAVES LIVES, REDUCES HOSPITAL ATTENDANCE AND HELPS WITH LONG TERM COVID PROBLEMS.
No point in taking out your anger on me, I am merely reporting a fact as shown by the article I posted. take your anger out on those who have more qualifications than you or me.
