RE: How Afghanistan Became A Failed State

A solution has probably been on the table for ages, its quite simple Pakistan Clerics sent Taliban running into Afghanistan when the Afghan communist government collapsed, now Pakistan fully franked by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Chinese built Gwadar port will play a major role in the country's pursuit of its goal especially at the time its enhancing its trade ties with landlocked Taliban Afghanistan and other the Central Asian countries.
In the past a Afghanistan Oil Pipeline was a project proposed by several oil companies to transport oil from the Caspian region and Central Asia through Afghanistan into Pakistan.

In the 1990s, the American Unocal Corporation, in addition to the Trans-Afghanistan Gas Pipeline, considered building a 1,600-kilometre-long (1,000 mi) 1,000,000 barrels per day (~5.0×107 t/a) oil pipeline to link Türkmenabat in Turkmenistan to the Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast. Through the Omsk (Russia) – Pavlodar (Kasakhstan) – Shymkent – Türkmenabat pipeline, it would provide a possible alternative export route for regional oil production from the Caspian Sea. The pipeline was expected to cost US$2.5 billion. However, due to political and security instability at that time, the project was dismissed. (bye bye uncle Sam)

In 2011, the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum estimated that northern Afghanistan has about 1.95 billion barrels of undiscovered technically recoverable crude oil reserves and 16.2 trillion cubic feet of discovered natural gas reserves. Hello Pakistan & China ( the solution as arisen)

RE: Ego and Spiritual Experience

@lovecanbereal
I spent months (guided) meditating utilizing single pointed concentration looking for the "self" an "I" labeled herein as robplum (like family names a mere label) meditating did my physical human form exist concluded other than in interdependence no it doesn't, is not findable.
And so no I'm not inclined to dive into the physical properties of nature, those that do probably end up trying to find life on another planet mumbling

The mind only school of thought propose our nature is "moving energy", the "subtle winds" carrying the seeds of our tomorrows driven with certainty by the causes. Cause and effects are of course certain.

The first meditation i ever attempted arose because friend loaned me a book called the "The Way of Zen" passage in that book asked i sit and examine a tree and conclude in what way to the tree exist if at all it existed. Over a couple weeks every day I considered the interdependent arising of a large Fig Tree alongside Brisbane River, considered whence did it come from eg. the pollinated seed from two trees, probably wind, bees, bird whatever the gave rise to the Moreton Bay Fig Tree, clearly the tree existed in interdependence one way or another, is underwent constant flux of change, it's appearance was limited by my own perceptions and a leaf just dropped hahaha

So no for now I'll stay on this planet comfort

RE: Ego and Spiritual Experience

no it doesn't i practice Buddha Dharma in the Mahayana tradition, a qualified practitioner, once upon a time was temple director at Killabakh near Taree can manage fine thank youcomfort

RE: Ego and Spiritual Experience

the word "soul" suggest probably written by a Christian, maybe Hindu I dunno.
However I think it is not a word a Buddhist would use to describe our true nature.
Ego generally refers to a false perception that the un-findeable "I" exists solely from its own side, e.g. perception found in a thought process grasping delusions.
Because the "I", the self our often long held habitual misconception thinks our body is solid when however it (the body) is made up of millions of tiny cells that are constantly being replaced , minerals/bones, excreta, pus and so on all only exists in interdependence upon other; therefore the "I" is non existent from its own side.
So maybe the answer to your question that you posed could be referring to common delusions pertaining to lack of understanding of interdependence our nature (dissolution) I dunno.

RE: Osama bin Laden’s prophetic statements about Joe Biden

I don't believe Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. That is very very unlikely.
I watched Obama and Hillary Clinton allegedly watching the alleged attack unfold in real time on a TV set in the States and I know that a Seal is alleged to have written a book about the alleged murder of Osama bin Laden.
It is alleged the murder of Osama bin Laden was carried out in front of one of his wives and the attack on a compound occurred just a short couple of Km down the road from a Pakistani Military Base.
It was also alleged that one of the two Blackhawk helicopters that flew from Afghanistan across Pakistan to attack Osama bin Laden. Crashed on arrival and it is also alleged after carrying out the murder of Osama bin Laden. The Air Crew and second Seal team from the crashed chopper got on board the second chopper with its Air Crew and Seal team also their Dog, second Seal team plus Osama bin Laden carcass boarded one Blackhawk then flew off across Pakistan back into Afghanistan.

Given at best a Blackhawk could only carry max of 18 Seals plus its Air Crew which is what Obama finally proposed occurred after repeatedly changing his story (Obamas) he finally proposed one Blackhawk flew off across Pakistan back into Afghanistan carrying x2 Air Crews, x2 Seal teams, and the dog and Osama bin Laden body so his body could be transferred to a navy ship and then dumped in the ocean.

A very interesting fairy tail, they forgot to mention the pixies in Obama's garden doh comfort

RE: Well that was a waste of time and money

A former interpreter for the Australian army was allegedly shot in the leg by the Taliban while he was trying to reach Australia’s first military evacuation flight out of Kabul airport on Wednesday morning.

Around 26 people were able to board the flight, including Australian citizens and Afghan nationals.

It’s understood two interpreters who worked for Australia made it on the flight, but several others were turned away as they were not on a list for evacuation.

More than 100 former interpreters from various coalition forces were at the scene trying to flee, SBS News has been told.

One man, whose identity is being protected for his safety, said he had been waiting in line to reach the airport gate when a member of the Taliban, who was guarding a checkpoint, shot him in the leg.

The man served with Australians in Uruzgan between 2010 and 2011

When asked about the incident, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he could not comment on "reports of that nature".

RE: Well that was a waste of time and money

CBS News reported:
US defense officials in charge of evacuating Americans from Kabul claimed on Tuesday morning they would fly 5,000 a day out despite only managing to rescue 1,400 in the three days since the city fell, while as many as 40,000 may remain stranded - some in remote parts of the country.

The Taliban is fast encroaching on the airport in Kabul and its fighters are now in charge of every access point on the way from the city. They have set up guard at the airport's entrance which means NATO troops are relying on their cooperation to safely get foreign nationals and Afghan refugees through the gates and onto planes.

Tom Cotton15th August:
Republicans Ken Buck and Tom Cotton say they are fielding calls from hundreds of stranded Americans looking for help

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on Tuesday morning that between 5,000 and 10,000 are in Kabul, but earlier admitted he had no idea how many there were or where they were. George W. Bush's former Assistant Secretary of State, Robert Charles, says there are between 15,000 and 40,000 'scattered' across all of Afghanistan.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Tuesday that there were at least 11,000, including American journalists, translators, contractors, aid workers, NGO and government workers.

All of them have to get on flights from Kabul airport where the situation on Tuesday was remarkably calmer than on Monday, when eight Afghans died trying yo escape.

Three were crushed by the wheels of a US jet as it took off, three fell from that jet as it ascended after stowing away in the hopes of being carried out safely, and two were shot by US troops after storming the airfield.

Since 2001, the US has spent $2.26 trillion in Afghanistan, the Costs of War Project at Brown University calculates. The biggest chunk – nearly $1 trillion – was consumed by the Overseas Contingency Operations budget for the Department of Defense. The second biggest line item – $530bn – is the estimated interest payments on the money the US government borrowed to fund the war.

Yet for all those trillions, Afghanistan still has one of the smallest formal economies on the planet. Last year, President Ashraf Ghani said 90 percent of the population was living on less than $2 a day.
However to my mind most of the 2.26 trillion got paid into American sponsored enterprises and flowed start back to uncle Sam...

United States President Joe Biden’s administration announced on Monday that it has approved the largest permanent increase to food stamp benefits – a boost that the White House and proponents of the move hope will help low-income families afford healthier food choices when stocking their fridges and pantries.

Starting in October, average benefits for food stamps — officially known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP — will increase more than 25 percent above pre-pandemic levels.

Some 42 million people in the US – about one in eight — currently receive SNAP benefits.

They are not living on less than $2 per day no no

The average monthly per-person benefits for qualified recipients will rise by $36, from $121 to $157, according to government figures that's around $5.30 per day

Even as battle raged across Afghanistan last week, Pakistan's Gwadar Port, now operated by a Chinese company, continued to ship fertilizers to the landlocked country, the Global Times learned.

Located in Pakistan's southwest province of Balochistan, Gwadar Port is a key project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Since its operation, the port has begun to play a new role as an efficient transit stop and time-saving trade port for land-locked Afghanistan. It shipments of fertilizer started in January 2020.

According to Chinese experts, China could play a role in post-war reconstruction and development of Afghanistan, pushing forward projects under the BRI and providing investment when safety and stability are restored in the country.

Afghanistan has become the first landlocked Central Asian country to benefit from using the Gwadar Port for transshipment trade. In 2020, the country imported 43,000 tons of fertilizers through the port contributing to its agricultural development.
