yep if you can cover the outgoings rent out the apartment, it'll give you an income of sorts. There is never money in farming, land just keeps soaking profits up if you can generate them anyway. Most people living on the land have very little money so you cannot profit from them easily.
Why not think about making trades on eBay while you chop wood, keep bees so you have some honey to sell, forget about growing weed or you'll end up telling yourself your gunner do this and that and not do anything.
