Why are they not conducting at least 5 times more drone attacks in Afghanistan which is the real battle ground?
I think that they are, but of course it is not reported as maybe no civilian deaths? I don't know. We do know they are continuing to attack places in Pakistan and will do so until they eradicate the Pakistani taliban as much as they can.
I agree with your point about not being given ARMED drones, but to be honest, what experience have you had with them and where would you use them?
Max...your comment was well thought out and appreciated, but it still does not cover why the country is up in arms about the SAD deaths of the civilians, yet there is not the same outrage with the Taliban killing MORE civilians in two months.
The Taliban have existed in your country for years because your Govt didn't do anything to rid yourselves of them, until recently. They hide in mountains where it is impossible to trace them, that is why they avoid detection and have done for a long long time.
They have set up training camps in your country but the villagers are too scared to inform the authorities of this fact.
Drones ARE the only way, at this moment in time, to kill the Taliban in remote and inaccessible areas.
I have heard a gentleman has filed a lawsuit, claiming $500 Million against the US authorities who launched a drone attack and killed his family while destroying his house.
May be this way some common sense would prevail.
Maybe the family of the people that died as mentioned in my post above should sue the Taliban for $500 million too? Or maybe even sue the Pakistani Govt for allowing the Taliban to remain in their country.
Atherton denied ball tampering, claiming that he had dirt in his pocket which he used to dry his hands. Atherton was summoned to the match referee and was fined £2,000 for failing to disclose the dirt to the match referee.
AJester....you said "and you sure don't want to get on God's Bad Side"
Well, if flooding and killing some estimated 2000 people dead and affecting another 20 million is being on his good side, then there is something really wrong with your friend. With friends like him, who needs enemies!!
Maxmate...I'm not Spanish, but English, I just live in Spain
I think you mistook my 'harbouring' comment. Harbouring meant that Pakistan were ignoring the fact that the taliban had training camps in your country and nothing was done to get rid of them until the pressure was applied. They are still there this very day, in the tribal areas.
I agree, war is a terrible waste of life, but war at times, is the only resolution to get rid of those that apply the use of terrorism and more often than not, on innocent people who just want to get on with their daily lives...and I cite 9/11 and 7/7 as two prime examples.
They are only banning the veil and the burkha in public places...just as they ban the wearing of ski masks and motorcycle helmets in public places....govt, banks etc buildings.
