yep brother, you would understand many words... like:
1) we say 'cafe' to mean coffee which is from italian 'caffe' 2) we say 'napprezza' to mean appreciate from italian 'apprezzo' 3) we say 'kompjuter' which reads out exactly like the british word 'computer' and is derived from (and means exactly that in fact) english 'computer' 5) Then, we would say 'bongu' which means good morning from the french word 'bonjour'
u see... maltese is a huge mixture of languages... roots still semitic though ... ermm ... extremelyyyy difficult to write .. almost as much as french I'd say ....
ermmm ... interesting ... would love to learn arabic one day ... sure ain't an easy task, but with some effort and a couple of headaches anything is possible!
well, yep that is true, we were under arab control for almost 400 years wayyy back in history and in fact, all north/ north-easter african people can understand maltese the first time they hear it!!! The problem is that we do not understand a word of arab S:
There are many italian/Latin and even english words in maltese now a days though.
amazingly enough, Maltese is the only semitic language written in latin characters in the whole world.. ain't that amazing? (:
ermmm .. actually Malta is not a town in Italy ... italy is a country for itself and Malta is an island at the south of Italy (veryyy close to italy too) but a republic of its own!
not many ppl know that malta exists unfortuantely... S:
well, this would be a translation of my former post:
alright, alright ... the 'pretty country' - cause italians call Italy that often - is pretty indeed, I agree, but, do not forget about my extremely small but extremely beautiful country! I like my tiny Malta even more! (;
va bo va bo ... il bell paese e propio bello, concordo, pero! no dimenticatevi del mio piccolissimo ma bellissimo paese! maltuccina mia, a me, me piace di piu!! (:
oMG .... back on the right track not on the rails!!! That's the worst thing I could have said in such moments!! Didn't want to give u bad ideas john ... do not read my previous comment!!!!
with all due respect, quad drivers are not to be respected!!
Most people look at 'em as motorbike enthusiast who can't balance on a bi-wheeler; hence they drive a quad.
If I was him, I would work on balance and go for a ninja, then for a CBR1000 asap .... that's my dream...
... then again, if u are like mine of mother, that is, call a motorbike a wheeled-coffin (cause of the mortality/injury rate of motorbikers), then u might think twice before giving such advice to your kid.... I donno... seems like I confused meself at this pt!
2 strk petrol are messy ... sometimes will require special fuel-oil mixture which smells pretty much like a full blown chip fryer and sounds like a bee got stuck in an ear-drum...
a 4 strk petrol will be smoother, simpler to drive, easier ignition and more expensive....
