Sounds like ya losing a little patience there Melody. Been banging your head into a brick wall again? Don't worry.... I know the feeling.
Going with the flow against your own instincts is just some form of wanting to be accepted. The desire to noticed and be everyone's flavour of the month. Well it doesn't always work out that way.
Personally I prefer to be accepted on an individual basis. Never been much of a team player either. That way I can sit back, lay low.... and watch as everyone else self disintegrates around me. Then it's business as usual.
No need to fight. Patience will eventually win and who knows.... I may even grab that shadow.
And you'll find most of ya audience here lose concentration after 40 characters let alone 12150 of them. Also words with more than 4 letters in them can be a major turn off.
Sorry chimp.... I'm out of bananas. How about some cabbage, bacon and spuds washed down with a good pint of guinness. It would be a nice change.
Hi Rev. My first introduction to cowboys was via the television and found it fascinating viewing. Like when you've got this bloke, alone with his girl, under a moonlit night and out in the middle of nowhere.
Then all of a sudden a full symphony orchestra strikes up a tune and our cowboy starts belting out a rapturous love song to woo his girl. And amazingly, after a hard day's slog mustering cows he never had a hair out of place and his clothes were immaculate.
In Australia we call them stockmen and there's no chance of seeing them from the road. A few of the cattle stations over here are larger than some European countries, so helicopters and motor bikes are a must. But if ya want to work on a station you've gotta know how to ride a horse and know the land.
In both departments the aboriginals are by far the best. And there ain't no cow or horses to be found among their ancient cave paintings.
Yep. Sounds like the familiar story. Always too busy or there's things to do instead of taking time out to capture the moment. Oh well... at least we're guaranteed one full moon every month so there'll be another opportunity.
I'm not having much luck though. Bought myself a nice camera about 3 years ago and I've been meaning to capture the full moon rising over the ocean. 70% of the time it's been overcast and I've either been busy or just plain forgot the other 30%.
Sounds like your really enjoying this blogging caper Angel.... and that's what its all about. I agree that it's always in the back off the mind about what people may think; but ya can't please everyone.
At least ya can edit your own blog after posting. There's been times when I've hit POST to send off a comment and regretted it 10 milliseconds later.
I obviously can't comment on what goes on in your country Jan but over here there are certainly a lot of lonely old people. Forgotten lonely old people.
There's many reasons why this is so... and it's unfair to point fingers and blame individuals. I guess these people are just the poor unfortunates caught up in 21st century living.
I used to do a bit of occasional work in nursing homes and I've gotta say they are the most depressing of places. But sometimes old people can no longer look after themselves and it's impossible to care for them at home 24 hours a day.
My own mother has mentioned in the past that she'd rather I shoot her than put her in a home. Fortunately it hasn't come to that. At 78 she's still got a lot of living to do and ain't got no intention of waiting around for the inevitable.
Nice introductory blog Smoky..... I don't think you'll be boring everybody to tears. It's good to have some fresh talent around because the blogs lately have been a bit drab.
It's nowhere near as volatile here as over in those threads. Geez... there's some good donnybrooks there sometimes. But it's still no different here in that people are a lot more brazen as they would be say, in a pub. There's no fear of being carried out of the blogs on a stretcher!
And I know what ya mean about writing to yourself. I used to start each year with a new diary but by 5 January all my inspiration had vanished along with the New Year's hangover.
So why make a blog? Why are you telling us? Isn't there someone else you should inform? Who in their right mind would want to use your pic? Why would they want to do that? What's to be gained from it? What were they thinking? What are you thinking? Can you think? What the bloody hell I'm I thinking?
RE: Stranger then a strange land
G'day Varjag. Reminds me of the old saying: "You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy".As for me, the cities are great to visit but there's no way I'd live in them. Too many traffic lights!
