RE: This heat is unbearable!

Hello Philipsen wave from western Canada, As for July here ,the temps have been mid 20s to 30, but with that came record high humidity levels, doh According to our health officials those humidity levels bring on chronic fatigue , head aches, dehydration, muscle cramps.... especially amongst the older folks.
Its been a goofy weather year here, coldest Feb ,on record here, confused , driest April and May on record, hottest June on record, and now highest humidity levels on record, dunno
Me I have some health issues, and that humidity has sure been hitting me hard, doh I looking forward to the cooler fall weather, but am somewhat leery about it,confused
You have a Good one Bud,cheers

RE: Steel toe work boots...

Hello chatillion, wave I worked road construction, (a lot of roadtop, gravel pit work) steel toes shoes, hard hats , hi vi vests ….. mandatoryyay , but at times with the steel toed shoes, at times I wondered, did the safty factor out weigh the sore feet and toes caused by the extra weight, and bulk of the boots,????? There was occasions (scale shacks, field offices) where no heavy lifting, or strenuous walking was done, but steel toed shoes were required because it was considered part of the job site confused

RE: "MADE IN CHINA"

Hello Nam, wave Here in my part of western Canada, after a recent influx of immigrants, The Chinese have bought up the corner stores, restaurants, and gas stations ,car washes. Them and the Koreans. Never see them working in any of the big stores, or taking part in happenings in the community, confused , but they are sure quick to be in line for any community charitable hand outs, or any government assistance plans yay As far as I m concerned they re in the community, NOT PART OF THE COMMUNITY,

RE: "IN SEARCH OF WENNY"

RE: Taken for granted

Hello Elegsabiff wave Good blog, thumbs up A few yrs back ,I ve parted ways with a lot of those unappreciative ,so called friends. I learnt how to say no to their requests. It sure made me more appreciative of my good friends. (there was a lesson there) If there s a situation where kids are involved, I have a hard time saying no to a person, my thoughts are with the kids, I m a whuss

RE: "REMEMBERING"

I ve been to plenty of funerals, too many, and prefer to see a closed casket. I prefer to remember the deceased in their better days than their final day. I ve also spent time in hospitals with terminally ill people in their final days, I also want to remember those loved ones in their better days.
I , in my own mind , have always thought funerals weren t only for the deceased, but also for their friends and family to accept the passing of a loved one, crying

RE: "AT THE WATER FALL"..(4)

Hello Nam, wave I ve always insisted gunpowder, and alcohol don t mix, usually creates a dangerous ,stupid situation, doh
Up here north of the border, our gun laws are strict , very strict, for the legitimate gun owner, not so much for the criminals, but I do believe a gun should be allowed in the house, for ones protection, but when drugs, and alcohol are involved , and proper thinking, and priorities go out the window, that ends the idea of home protection.
Guns are the issue, but when if it wasn t them, it would be knives, or clubs, dunno , its a slippery slope.

RE: Im back

Hello Palmfrond wave , I figure its so great when a person loves their job,yay , ( it is becoming a rare thingconfused ) Good for you, hope it continues, cheers

RE: Another brick in the wall

Hello Elegsabiff wave I ve been out of school now 40ty some yrs now, and have noticed there is some very good students today, Great kids, thumbs up , good work ethics, hard working, polite.... but I have noticed there are a lot with no work ethic, lazy, drug users.... doh We didn t have that yrs ago, confused
I figure in todays fast paced ,hi tech age an education is so valuable, and with so many of todays distractions, some effort should be made to keep students in school. Speaking of the hi tech age, computers are doing a lot of todays teaching, definitely a different agedunno

RE: Tidbits of Humor

Doris Day, Great Singer, Great Actress, left us a lot of Great Memories. Rest in Peace Doris, sad flower

RE: Words I don't like

Hello Harbal, wave I hate the word , sophisticated , because I know people who think and describe themselves as Sophisticated. Those people tend to think of themselves as above others, doh . To me the word is a fancy way of saying arrogant, conceited braggart.

RE: A sticky business

Hello Palmfrond wave I can imagine its a rather sticky business, be nice and polite, and every so often casually mention you have a boyfriend, (who s 6 ft 6) , that should make those offers disappear. 6 ft 6 , boyfriends tend to do that, rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: I sold my first truck

Hello Palmfrond, wave Congrats on your sale, thumbs up Am hoping its the start of better things to come, yay

RE: Change of Socks For The Feet

Hello Greg, wave Up here, winter socks can be a pain in the warmer weather, but always hold a treasured , sentimental value when ever a person thinks of the winter months, and with our changing weather, they re usually within arms reach.

RE: "SEPTEMBER 6 2001"

Hello Nam, handshake Very interesting story. Myself I believe the story, and believe a lot more of that happened than we realize. ( oh yes, I too believe it was NO 3)

RE: Nose in the phones

Hello Unfayzed wave I love , love love your idea about phones in the middle, thumbs up Thanks,

RE: manners

Hello flyme 1 wave Manners, good topic, I was always taught manners are respectful, and showing respect brings respect. I know growing up, if I didn t mind my manners, I d get a little swat up side the back of the head, I sure remembered my manners, yay
As for the todays 20 to 30 yrs olds, I figure they re too busy in todays technology ,to remember manners.

RE: British Sitcoms

Hello JimNastics wave I loved the sitcom Faulty Towers, thumbs up Good Show. Another one I loved was The Two Ronnies, and we can t forget Benny Hill. They might be oldies but they re classics, thumbs up

RE: The Park

Hello Harbal wave and you too Molly, and EXRED wave We have a city park here that's in a different situation. Its very well maintained, wow , well lit, fountain, nice park benches,.... It used to be a place young couples would stroll thru, kids would play, or seniors would sit and visit, but now its a place drunks, bums and whatever would hang out, very mad . A place once treasured has turned into a place people avoid very mad
I find it so sad, times are changing.

RE: "RAMBLIN MAN"..("RAMBLE ON")..(199)

Hello Nam,wave Those pics are rather interesting, wow , Thanks Bud, thumbs up

RE: Thanks ...

Hello Elegsabiff hug Good blog, it sure strikes home with me. Me with MS, I have my good days, bad days, and as tough as it gets, its made me slow down and appreciate life more. It has shown me who my true friends are. You d be surprized how a lot of people react to me when they hear me having MS. Those supposed friends tend to keep their distance from me , must think I ll be asking for assistance of some sort. ( ironic , because I m the one offering my assistance to friends and neighbors, confused )
But my health issues, have shown me who my true friends are, and its rather amazing how they somehow show up when I m having one of those bad dayswow .
I ve always figured there is always a lesson to be learnt from most situations, and have I ever learnt one,yay

RE: There are usually THREE SIDES to every story...

Hello chatillion, wave Definitely 3 sides to every story, his side, her side, and the truth. And quite often it seems everyone has their own opinion on a story, confused ,that's where a person has to trust the facts to form their own opinion, yay
