I worked road construction, (a lot of roadtop, gravel pit work) steel toes shoes, hard hats , hi vi vests ….. mandatory
, but at times with the steel toed shoes, at times I wondered, did the safty factor out weigh the sore feet and toes caused by the extra weight, and bulk of the boots,????? There was occasions (scale shacks, field offices) where no heavy lifting, or strenuous walking was done, but steel toed shoes were required because it was considered part of the job site 
Here in my part of western Canada, after a recent influx of immigrants, The Chinese have bought up the corner stores, restaurants, and gas stations ,car washes. Them and the Koreans. Never see them working in any of the big stores, or taking part in happenings in the community, , but they are sure quick to be in line for any community charitable hand outs, or any government assistance plans As far as I m concerned they re in the community, NOT PART OF THE COMMUNITY,

Oh as I ve aged I have slowed down some, a lot actually,
, I like to think I just have more time to enjoy myself. I wish I had more of todays mentality when I was younger, Nowadays I take my time, and enjoy life a lot more. That old man you mentioned might be peeking over my shoulder , but for now I think I ll leave him in the rear view mirror,
Good blog, A few yrs back ,I ve parted ways with a lot of those unappreciative ,so called friends. I learnt how to say no to their requests. It sure made me more appreciative of my good friends. (there was a lesson there) If there s a situation where kids are involved, I have a hard time saying no to a person, my thoughts are with the kids, I m a whuss

I ve been out of school now 40ty some yrs now, and have noticed there is some very good students today, Great kids, , good work ethics, hard working, polite.... but I have noticed there are a lot with no work ethic, lazy, drug users.... We didn t have that yrs ago,

I hate the word , sophisticated , because I know people who think and describe themselves as Sophisticated. Those people tend to think of themselves as above others, . To me the word is a fancy way of saying arrogant, conceited braggart.
I can imagine its a rather sticky business, be nice and polite, and every so often casually mention you have a boyfriend, (who s 6 ft 6) , that should make those offers disappear. 6 ft 6 , boyfriends tend to do that,

Up here, winter socks can be a pain in the warmer weather, but always hold a treasured , sentimental value when ever a person thinks of the winter months, and with our changing weather, they re usually within arms reach.

Manners, good topic, I was always taught manners are respectful, and showing respect brings respect. I know growing up, if I didn t mind my manners, I d get a little swat up side the back of the head, I sure remembered my manners, I loved the sitcom Faulty Towers, Good Show. Another one I loved was The Two Ronnies, and we can t forget Benny Hill. They might be oldies but they re classics,
and you too Molly, and EXRED We have a city park here that's in a different situation. Its very well maintained, , well lit, fountain, nice park benches,.... It used to be a place young couples would stroll thru, kids would play, or seniors would sit and visit, but now its a place drunks, bums and whatever would hang out,

Good blog, it sure strikes home with me. Me with MS, I have my good days, bad days, and as tough as it gets, its made me slow down and appreciate life more. It has shown me who my true friends are. You d be surprized how a lot of people react to me when they hear me having MS. Those supposed friends tend to keep their distance from me , must think I ll be asking for assistance of some sort. ( ironic , because I m the one offering my assistance to friends and neighbors, ) .
Definitely 3 sides to every story, his side, her side, and the truth. And quite often it seems everyone has their own opinion on a story, ,that's where a person has to trust the facts to form their own opinion,
