Some would say I was never academic, since I preferred things like sewing, baking and dance, but at 19, after dancing since childhood, I was facing qualifications in dance, and for a female, that means dancing as a male and female....the males only dance as a male, though they must know the foot positions of a female, but what is also required, are those foot position demonstrating direction as well as the part of foot that is in contact to the floor..etc etc. A dance teacher really is trained, so in my humble opinion, they really are dedicated and trained, not something they pick up over time spent attending social dances. Learning sequences has proved to be very good for the memory, and dance is thought an excellent if not more gentle way to keep fit in mind and body. However as we age, we are also likely to suffer health problems and our outlook and needs change, so for someone considered not academic, to become a mature student in 2008 when living in isolated Far North NZ, it had to be a mixture of study, though mostly online I tackled 8 papers ranging from Non Fiction to Children.....Picture Books, so the focus was writing.. I struggled for the first few months, as it had been 40 years since I left school, which I did at 15 years of age, but once completed those 3 years, I found learning easy, and so changed my main focus, but funnily enough shared my time between both. I also had a greater feeling of achievement. My reason for writing is to comment on how much we can retain. I think the mind will flush what is not used on a regular basis, and figures I never favoured just like dances, will be the first to go, but with a text book in hand, you can refresh the mind, but what works best for me is the music. The way muscles, mind and limbs work as one, becomes maybe closer to a robot, but it really does work. I think this is enough from me....but the mind is a wonderful tool...or should I say mind-body and soul......
Living alone give freedom to log on whenever, but usually I log on when eating my breakfast which is around 6am, though never for long, because I can pop in whenever I want, but never stay for long.........though when I was living in the Far North, I admit I spent more time here..........Kathy
Love is like a prize, achieved by few for long-term, but many are lucky enough to get a glimpse. If you are lucky enough to share real love, even short term, you will try to seek it again. Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.....
Most of the beautiful Kauri trees were cut down by pioneers to build houses and ships in NZ, but now pines are planted to give wood, which is needed. NZ still has many natural forests and Kauri is now protected. However, when you drive past an area that was earlier planted with pines, the sight after the loggers have left sight is painful. It is the remaining stumps and twigs in a barren area that has an eerie feel with tracks where the soil has been churned up by the huge logging trucks. Soon they are replanted and the cycle starts again, but the initial sight is still soul destroying....
When someone can't explain their behaviour, we have to give them a day or two...which you have done....as the others have explained, it's time to move on....he seems to have already done. Some people only like the chase and the meet, then cool off, just don't ask yourself why....there probably is no straight answer....just accept and look forward...not back.....
Jac the Gripper......well said.....what we accept one day we may not accept another...it is our choice...and life is about choices we make every day.....we do what we feel is right at that time.....
Unconditional love.....is the only way for true love....but sadly, one often gives and the other takes....should send alarm bells....ringing. Many men do not view ladies any different to their fathers and grandfather....I am meaning the balance between equals....but thankfully, it has been changing.....slowly, thanks to mothers.
So agree about local guys.....but it can include mature males too....life is for living, but without lowing our own standards.....I think that might be baggage from my upbringing.....
Moelle....I admit I am curious if they think NZ is to far away to know London, but reading my profile clearly mentioned my connection......yes, sharing information has to help.....
Hi Mimi...living in NZ they assume wrongly I won't know world geography, and true I have to think hard about some countries but not the UK, especially London. I might have one time played cat and mouse games with them, but now I get rattled.....and was curious if it was widely spread.....
I was told one of three of killing chains in the Far North, is for the Saudi Arabia market....I recall the uproar when sheep shipments were the focus here in NZ, and finally the SPCA had them stopped. Niah
Well I can say I have CD's by most artists, and never drive anywhere without music in the car playing. Although I have the top German Dance bands CD, purely for strict tempo dancing for work. I'd hate to be without music, and usually Abba is a driving favourite. Niah
smile...the text, has he bothered to check spellings, has he given general thought to his presentation, photos and words, could he be interesting and more than anything...a smile. Niah
