RE: 7 shots close range in the back.

Yeah, fair point.

RE: 7 shots close range in the back.

Reaching in despite repeated orders to stop?
If I were that cop I might have reacted the same way.

RE: 7 shots close range in the back.

Absolutely not, if it was an effort to murder him. However I find the arguments put forward by the other American guys to be convincing, especially Dong's one and also mickeys, in terms of the risks that cop thought he might be under.

RE: 7 shots close range in the back.

I think that a violent criminal would reach for a gun in those circumstances, kids or no kids.

RE: Trump in Trouble

The guy he mocked was physically disabled not intellectually.

Whenever one raises the issue of Trump and his character his supporters attack the Democrats, that's the best way of not answering the issue, deflection. There are plenty of conservatives who can see through Trump by the way, they can't be as easily dismissed.

RE: Trump in Trouble

He mocks the disabled and treats women as playthings but that's acceptable to the dullards who support him.

RE: Peaky Blinders quotes

No.

RE: Do you think the future will be better than the present? ...

It's been a long time since I had 5 pints in one night...blues

RE: Tell us about a memorable date

Ah yes, the old balancing of pain and gain.

RE: Tell us about a memorable date

You lasted much longer than I would have!

RE: Who will be Joe Biden's pick for vice president candidate?

You are quite right, she should be at home cooking and cleaning for her husband, in her place in other words.

A rare good news story

I suppose. I know the father of one of them, a nice guy. Himself and his wife must have been in bits.

A rare good news story

Hi s,
hopefully, and teach other young people too.

A rare good news story

I am lucky enough to live near Galway bay, a place that can be stunningly beautiful sometimes. Every summer there are safety warnings but kids will be kids and take chances. Yesterday two girls in their late teens went paddle boarding at a beach just outside Galway city. Foolishly they decided to try to paddle into the centre of the bay, near the city. They were swept out into the bay. A search failed to find them and was called off for the night. Chances of a happy end to this were very slim. When the search resumed this morning they were - incredibly - located alive and well underneath some cliffs in a nearby county, clinging onto a lobster pot. They were 17 miles from the beach they started out on!

RE: Growing up in the North

Amen to that.

RE: Hiroshima, seventy five years on.

Surely they wouldn't have been that inhumane? to treat thousands of lives as an experiment?

RE: R.I.P. John Hume (Aug 3rd 2020)

He sure was. Rest in peace John Hume.

RE: What age do you feel..?

I feel about 70 (give or take a year).

RE: Two eyes see things differently

My father was colour blind and it got worse as he got older. Often he'd be at traffic lights and he'd ask me what colour they were!

RE: Is physical punishment good for children?

She certainly has as much right as anyone else. I was just pointing out what it was like on here, in case she didn't know.

RE: In memory of the Native American post your favorite song from them..!

I don't think she liked being referred to that way Pedro.

RE: Is physical punishment good for children?

No offence but I think you are maybe a bit too thin skinned for this place? There will always be idiots who say ridiculous things to you, they are usually not worth even trying to reason with.

RE: Is physical punishment good for children?

Indeed they are and it's a terrible thing to happen. The child must understand why they are being punished and what they have done that merits such punishment, that is vital. If that doesn't happen then that parent shouldn't be allowed raise kids.

RE: Is physical punishment good for children?

A gentle slap of a child is not violence.

RE: I've learned.....

RE: Hurt

RE: If you were to die tonight...?

Me - wow....you exist...nice to meet you man.
God - I'm not a man, I'm god,...sheesh, did you not learn nothing about me when you were young?

RE: Is physical punishment good for children?

An interesting and thoughtful post b, up to your usual standard. That idea of prefects you guys had in England always struck me as a ghastly idea.

RE: Liberty and my rights...to die?
