RE: The European Union And the United Kingdom Should we stay or should we leave

Indeed this thread is about the UK.
Frankly what the UK decides regarding staying in or going out of the EU is of no consequence to me. I will be long gone from there by the time its decided on. Having property is the UK is just a waste of my money. When a property is furnished regardless of being occoupied or not then council tax is payable.
I wish the people of UK all the best and hope they will indeed be better off in all aspects of their lives. Good luck. Just my opinion.

RE: The European Union And the United Kingdom Should we stay or should we leave

So many reports and stats on the worlds economy.
I still pay my council tax, and all other taxes
in the UK. So perhaps I am one of the hard done
by ones also. Who is to blame for it all?
So what I think or what anyone single person thinks
matters not a whet. Nothing will change.

RE: The European Union And the United Kingdom Should we stay or should we leave

I have no wish to get into politics here.
There are 27 countries in the European Community.
There was initially only 6 and it expanded after
that.
Each country joining agrees to pay a percentage in
relation to the population of the country.
The coffers is what is then used to bail out any
European country that is in difficulty.
All the stats are easily accessed on the net either
by Google or others.
It does make for interesting reading.

RE: The European Union And the United Kingdom Should we stay or should we leave

Hi TC,
I would not know for sure on this one.
Probably to stay is the best thing as
within Europe.
To leave would be a hell of a blow with
the amounts of money the EU give to the UK.
Hmm really the state of a lot of the economies
at the present time are bad.
I agree that people like pensioners do not get
enough to live on, especially if they are just
on state pensions and have no income from working.
I agree that the country has taken in far too many
immigrants over the years, there should have been a
cut off point on the numbers.
AT the death its the Government that has been elected
that will decide I reckon. A vote on it, well if the
people were well informed before voting then that will
be the decider.

UK Forum the revival.

Hi all is it possible to revive
the UK forums.
Come one come all, for months its
been stagnent with little going on.
This is a thread that may or maynot
be subscribed to.
Its a chat where people can chat and
comment. Yes but without the misery
of sniping at each other and being
unkind and rude.
Seen it all here, been in the middle
of it.
Lets make this a new attempt at the
revival of the fun and chat that once
was on here.

RE: What made you smile or laugh today "2" old one full

Hi all wave
So good to hear the weather in the UK
is much better than reported on the BBC.

This is so funny might actually give some
a smile. Found it and had to copy.

During a visit to the mental hospital, the press reporter asked the Director ‘How do You determine whether or not a patient should be admitted to the Hospital.’

‘Well,’ said the Director, ‘we fill up a bathtub, then we give a Teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him to empty the Bathtub.’

‘Oh, I understand,’ the reporter said. ‘A normal person would use the bucket because it’s bigger than the spoon or the teacup.’

‘No.’ said the Director, ‘A normal person would pull the drain plug.....do you want a bed near the window?’

RE: What made you smile or laugh today "2" old one full

wave Juneau,
Yes they are here all the time.
Its still so mild here and not
at all like the bad weather in
the UK.
They are still putting away a
fair amount though I can tell you
2 days for a full feeder of sunflower
seeds.
Still keep feeding them until they
stop coming.

RE: What made you smile or laugh today "2" old one full

Hi Juneau,
I have noted that the woodpeckers are
popping in and out of the orchard.
We do have robins that come regular for
the feeder they stay longer than the
chaffinch though.
The old crows are still eating the apples
off the ground.
