Well quite simply, I would say that Middle class Families are better at hiding there intolerance for each other. It just wouldn't do for the neighbours to talk House prices might go down.
Say what you want about Bertie. But the man walked away 1000% Innocent from the biggest and longest running political scandal of the Nations history. Not only was he Innocent he was rewarded and honoured a few times afterwards. And all of us allowed it to be so either by action or inaction, Not many humans have that much control over the populous of a so called republic.

I agree 100% with your observation. Please see my reply to peach, I am not attacking anyone for being spongers.. Simply pointing out that the problem is a bigger and darker one than rent. An elephant in the room so to speak.
I have to disagree Peach. First its not a very easy thing to say. and I am not using unemployed People as scapegoats, Drink and gambling are prevalent factors in the destruction of family's in this country. Do you think its right for the tax payer to fund such a society ? And simply because it keeps the money flowing. The point of my post is to amend to the fact that there are far more destructive issues to the state and its economy in relation to welfare. Than Rent and Housing as the OP pointed out. But I do see his argument. We have a very good although not perfect System compared to other countries.
What sickens me is the fact that there are a lot of people in this country, Who are unemployed and in receipt of every entitlement. Including ones I'm sure I don't even know about. Yet they seem to have the Money to live between the Bookies and the Pubs. Whats even more sickening is that The Welfare Department does not seem to care if tax payers money is spent on Food and Family or Irish Sports and Leisure
Perhaps I'm mistaken and the day of the unemployed punter in the pub is over. Let me know if I'm wrong !
