RE: Can you live in a world with jokes you don't like?

Oh dear Pete, some Americans hate being called a "Yank" it's quite a "derogatory" word to some. and NO you couldn't shoot all Americans as you would need their guns in the first place tongue "Tongue in Cheek"

RE: Glow up .

Everything seems to be about beautifying these days. The filters on phones etc....pouting like ducks arses? then when you see them in real life, you wouldn't recognise them. I do admit that I have false nails, I have done them since 1998 but I do my own and definitely not those long and especially square nails. I dye my eyebrows as they are now going grey. I dye my hair too because I was going grey at the front and still a brunette at the back. My choice was to go blonde to make things easier for me and I've never regretted it. To each their own and what rights do others have to complain? they may have their own problems dunno

RE: I am unique and different to everyone else

I thought he looked more Spanish with his sun tan grin

RE: Sir Paul McCartney

Happy Special Birthday Sir Paul cheering banana head banger The Beatles have always been my favourite Band. No one has ever beaten the songs that Lennon and McCartney wrote or sang. Along with George Harrison and Ringo who wrote songs too but as it's Sir Pauls Birthday I didn't want it to be a Beatles song. This is my favourite song that he wrote and performed after the Beatles, plus I love the video grin It was just a shame that John Lennon went the way he did but we can't turn the clocks back. We can only remember what the Greatest Band in the World was at that time. Just my opinion......

RE: Paul Hardcastle - 19 (Nineteen)

He is best known for his song "19", which went to number 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1985. Paul Louis Hardcastle. Birth name, Paul Louis Hardcastle.

I vaguely remember this song and least of all, what it was about. No Youtube way back then, it was just the MTV Channel. My daughter who was 12 at the time was into Madonna and my son was just 7 and so I just "recorded" the songs that they liked.....

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Nothing really, Just to say that you can't have zero alcohol readings on a breatherliser test. We all produce alcohol in our body whether we drink alcohol or not and that's one of the reasons that they cannot bring in "Zero" tolerance re drinking and driving...........

RE: Supplement 's

Quinine was always well known to treat muscle cramps and Gout but taken in large doses can have adverse effects when taken with other medication. My late Mum suffered from muscle cramps all the time as I do sometimes but we just used to drink a "straight" Tonic Water as it only has a tiny bit of quinine in it.
I remember this story from years ago and never forgotten it for some reason.

Sorry but had to copy and paste. I'm not saying this it true to fact but I did see a documentary on it........

LONDON, Feb. 16—A coroner's inquest here has found that the death of a 48-year-old health-food enthusiast was caused by “carrot-juice addiction.” The coroner's court heard evidence this week that Basil Brown, a scientist had taken 70 million units of Vitamin A in 10 days.17 Feb 1974 dunno

RE: Supplement 's

I totally agree with you there Track. Many people just buy supplements from a Health Food Store thinking that they're good for them but don't realise that they can interact with prescription or other over the counter drugs. That's the reason why I will only take Milk Thistle and not every day either.

Good post and informative coming from someone that's experienced it first hand thumbs up

RE: Post your current mood in one word

@ Karl grin

RE: Post your current mood in one word

I know and then I'm thinking, my bloody water bill rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Supplement 's

The only supplement that I take is "Milk Thistle" I've never had any problems with it but you need to get it from a "good source" ......

RE: Post your current mood in one word

Unfortunately for me, I can't sit in the sun anymore, I still have factor 50 on even in the shade. I'll only sit out for 10 minutes at a time or 1 hour throughout the day. I still have a bit of a tan so not milk bottle white just yet grin

RE: Post your current mood in one word

I saw that too on the weather forecast but I'll believe it when I feel and actually see it. I got my hose out the other day, watered all my plants and then it pissed it down 3 hours later laugh

RE: Post your current mood in one word

The only thing "Spicy" is my Chilli Con Carne tongue

RE: Post your current mood in one word

Brilliant cool

Looking forward to this beautiful weather carrying on now "hopefully" banana

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Yes" I'll leave it be now too but you did state that I was born in England because I live in England and I'm a Brit. Maybe you should calm down now too. You may have American Citizenship but you weren't born In America? yet you say that I was born in England? I had Spanish Residency and lived there but I wasn't born in Spain. As I stated before, I'm British but I could have been born in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland for all you know, so stop with your tarnishing as classing everyone coming from England.bouquet

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

I'm just fascinated with planes. How those Jumbo Jets can take of and fly with all that weight on them. The Red Arrows to me are awesome along with the Spanish Airforce that show their Red and Yellow smoke , many other Countries do too I think. How those pilots have to train for many hours and hours and learn how to put the correct coloured smoke out at different times and they have all the colours so no one Jet has just one colour, it's all co ordinated, so yes! I love watching the Red Arrows, how can you not? Precision Pilots who love to fly and entertain thumbs up

This is one of my favourites. How beautiful is this?heart wings teddybear grin Plus our British Isles below

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

I posted the video re The Red Arrows as I think it's brilliant what they do and perform. I actually watched the Jets performing over Atlantic City way back in 2016 when I was there and one pilot unfortunately lost his life practicing a week before this performance and so?............

RE: something happened?

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

I would spew my guts up barf if I even had to smell whiskey, the same with Gin and Vodka. I'll just stick to brewing wine for now grin I can stomach that smell rolling on the floor laughing

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Well there you go then. Just because I brew wine doesn't mean to say that I drink it. I could brew beer but I never touch the stuff. I'm trying to learn how to brew Dandelion and Burdock, that's more to my taste grin

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Are you jealous because I brew my own wine and you can't have none? laugh Maybe you and Lynsy should get together, you could share the hatred out between you both?

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Something to calm you down so you don't get banned again grin

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Oh give it a rest now Lyn, Haven't you got anything else to do? like insulting Democrats? rolling on the floor laughing

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

I can't personally answer your question but please accept my apology if you think that I offended you in anyway, that wasn't my intention bouquet

In Spain, you can purchase alcohol in Ice Cream Parlours, McDonalds, Burger King. KFC etc..that was our choice to do so. As an ex pat of Spain I found that because alcohol was so easy to obtain, people didn't want it. Spanish kids were brought up with wine as the norm, it didn't turn them into alcoholics. It's when you take away things that people wish to explore, that's when the problems start. That's just my opinion. Of course if people choose to take the route of drinking alcohol then that's their choice to do so. You can't blame the supermarkets for selling alcohol. You need to take care of your own lives from the start.

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Galrads, if you feel the need to have a go at someone, then have a go at me and not Jac. I'm the one that's posted comments on here and to you. personally. Stand up and be a man and direct your comments to me. I can take it grin

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

Aww Glasson Dock, not been there for years. They always used to have a little boat there which was a Cafe. My neighbours take their dog to Lane Ends all the time. I'm still not used to where I live as I come from Bolton rolling on the floor laughing Rivington Pike and all that grin

RE: religious beliefs about alcohol

I fully understand where you're coming from, my daughters ex was an alcoholic. I didn't know about all the things he'd done as I wasn't living here then. I only found out later. One of the things that he did do was to take his 2 children out in my daughters car without her knowledge. They weren't together at the time but he was just visiting. My daughter was just having a shower when he took the kids aged 5 and 9 bearing in mind that the 9 year old is autistic. He then just parked up as he was just so intoxicated to drive anymore, he just sat down on the kerb "sidewalk" whilst his autistic daughter was running around screaming. People called for the police who came and took him away. He was charged with being drunk and under the influence whilst looking after a minor. Not with drunk driving.

It's not all alcohol that ruine's peoples lives, genuine people that are prescribed legal drugs through their practitioners are also to blame. They give them out willy nilly and then can't take the time to wean people off them properly, thus leaving these people to just fend for themselves where they can't just go out and buy that medication. crying
