RE: a question of ethics ...

It's such a small, small, tiny world isn't it! I actually had a brother named John that at 1 time lived in Seattle!
Sadly he's dead now.moping
My older brother & me looked more alike than John & me did. Although we all had pretty much the same eyes, nose & mouth resemblance thing.
John was always more clean shaven than our other brother & me. At most he had only a moustache.wave

RE: are you prepared to meet God when you die.....?

Hey BBwave

Well I really hadn't given it that mulch thought, as it was in response to someone else's post.

However upon short reflection, given that baryonically we're mostly space/vacancy, I'd liken it to a bit of a more airy existence! This of course being somewhat of an absent-minded reflection!grin

SHANTIwine

RE: Which has more of a social stigma attached to it?

I would think that what one thought would/could be influenced by the social mindset that one lives in/by.

SHANTIwine

RE: a question of ethics ...

So, say it's a fridge that you have on the front porch, not technically in the kitchen. Would you be willing to give at least a tiny little hint then?

C'mon ya gotta give us a little something!
A letter in the name, doesn't have to be a first letter. How about a sylable or maybe how many in the name?grin

RE: are you prepared to meet God when you die.....?

Well at least you can take solace, however much or little, in that you'll be mulch either way! No offense intendedhandshake

I'm agnostic, so I'm hoping god will speak to me while I'm alive.
Barring that, I'm ready to speak to it after I die. Of course if it's not true(& yes, I know all you religion people can assure me that it is, & is the way your view goes!) I won't know anyway!

For that matter, if there isn't a god, fairly soon we could all be mulch anyway! I'm just saying!dunno

RE: revenge

Revenge is a form of hatred that is hard to fight/resist!very mad

It can be so easy to fall for. It takes an ever presence of mind & an indominitable will to resist even the greatest of transgressions.

Hatred of any kind, eats YOU up inside(mentally & viscerally)!grin

Very many positive comments on this thread, very learned!tip hat

The best revenge if there is such a thing is to live a good life
regardless!wine

I know I've mentioned this in another thread.
A year or a couple ago the Amish people in Pennsylvania suffered some deranged person that kicked in the door at their school & killed several of the children. Then he was killed by police or himself. I can't remember.

I don't know what you think of the Amish or if you're even aware of their existence, doesn't matter. These people live by a WORD(in their instance it's christian), again it doesn't matter! Their WORD says that you forgive wrongs done to you by others.

These people forgave the man that slaughtered their children. Not only that but they went to his funeral & comforted his family!

Now if that isn't walking the talk I don't know what is! Can't find a salute emoticon! So I'll settle for a tip hat

RE: what animal describes you

This would be quite shocking news to the platypus! And a bit hurtful, I'd imagine!

The only animal that could best describe me is my dog. And I swear if he ever even mutters a woof, I'll cut off his....no wait those were already gone when I rescued him. I cut off his Milkbone supply, yeah.... that's it! No more Milkbones(biscuits)!wink

RE: Could You Live a Whole Day Without a Car?

Well, if he means he rides a bicycle everywhere he goes then he is eliminating his personal transport carbon footprint. Even using public transit lessens it considerably! But, yes there are SO MANY other ways we create or share in a carbon footprint that many may not realise.

I have a small truck & a midsized van. There are stretches of 7 to 12
or so days that neither one moves. I hate going anywhere, people have become so much less civil around here that I prefer not to deal with them.
Peoples hatred/greater self-importance is just going from worse to worst!blues Not to mention gas prices(oops I did) so I try to plan out my errands & do them all in the same journey out. Get it all out of the way, then relax & settle back into living in my little world I have going on here.

RE: Dear Friends

All good advice above! One item I didn't notice is vitamin G, raw garlic!
It's anti-bacterial, anti-viral, lowers cholesterol, cleans plaque from
vessel walls & restores elasticity to the vessels as well!

But definitely follow your Dr. orders/recomendations!handshake

RE: God and the Universe.

Well I'm not even about to enter the folly of arguement of whether or not a god or gods exist!

But for those that believe that THEIR god(s) is/are the creator(s) of everything & knows all & is ALL powerful(nothing it/they can't do).

Why do you suppose that it/they are so weak that it/they need humans to do its/their killing for it/them?

Is/are it/they just too tired, it was a long 7 days!

Or maybe too busy, got a starbirth outburst in the horsehead nebulae?

Just wonderin'?

RE: I don't want to scare you...but..

SHANTIwine

RE: I don't want to scare you...but..

Electro magnetic pulse. Basically what solar flares are.

Well it depends on what you believe. If you're of the opinion that living close to those giant electrical wires are bad for you then yes.
They create huge electromagnetic fields around them. Of course the earth has these huge EMF's they are what protect us from a lot of the bad radiation from the sun. Ever heard of ley lines?(google)

This has been around for some time now & not really new news. However this is what the scientists are saying about the massive solar flares that are supposed to be coming in this 24th cycle(of the sun) that started last year, I think. If one big enough occurs it will wipe out all electric devices on the planet. No pumping anything, gas, water, waste, bank accounts freeze. And WORST of all no internet!!!! Not a pretty scenerio for this age of electronic dependency.
Glad I've got my woodstove & bison hide if one hits this winter!wink

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Voyager 1 MAY be already past plutos' orbit & Voyager 2 isn't too far behind. They were launched in the 70's. So it's taken awhile, but
another several million, or is it billion miles & they're outta here!
They just have to get past the Oort belt!

RE: My humor is.............

I'd say my humor is enigmatic! You know what's been said, "If you have to explain it...."

My humor is cerebral. All in my head!(never gets out!)

My humor can be humorless! Funny thing!

My humor is all I have! That's why I'm broke.

I'm this way because my limitations are limitless!(snarky! no not you.)

Well, you remember what Joni Mitchell said... " Laughing & crying, you
know it's the same release!"

I prefer to laugh, 'cause crying is just too dehydrating!wink
