RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

No offense but the moon is a satelite, not a planet. I think it also rings from the gravitational forces acting upon it by the earth, sun & other celestial bodies.

The sun too sings/rings, supposedly. It takes a photon over 100,000yrs
to get to the surface of the sun after leaving the core. They bounce/ricochet off other subatomic particles for so long before reaching the chromosphere. All this zinging around causes the sun to vibrate/ring/sing.

I LOVE Astronomy magazine!

RE: is there a fine line between madness and genius?

Nah, they're the same defect!laugh

Shaman are consider to display psychotic behavior or act in ways considered to be the same as someone diagnosed as having a psychosis.
This is when they are in their "other state", dreamtime, trance or
whathave ye.confused

So bob, you've looked at the mind from both sites now, from up & down
& still somehow, they're cloudy dreams you can't recall?wink

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Well, I was kinda thinking(and there's my problem!) along the lines of a change in mental attitude or ways one would conduct oneself. Depending, of course on the problem(s) you're trying to escape/fix!?

Now if you're thinking along the line of positive imagery to cause/effect, manifest something into existence, well I just can't imagine!giggle grin wink

Again, I defer to your lovely mind!tip hat

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Well to reach escape velocity from earth, one needn't exceed, or for that matter even approach the speed of light.

Now to reach an exoplanet more than a few billion miles away, one would need to either travel at the speed of light or come up with some sort of suspended animation system to reach it in an alive state!?

But the possibilities are just about endless(unlike us).handshake cheers

And who's to say that some alien race has not already been here & monkeyed(get it?) around with our ancestors genetics?

SHANTIwine

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Again, no need for that either, at least on my account!(I'm too poor to pay attention, most of the time!)tip hat

Chances are that neither of us have our exoplanet ticket in hand yet!

SO... there's still time to impress me!rolling on the floor laughing laugh

Provocative, no doubt!wink
But unless acted upon the alternative thought pathways are perhaps
just daydreaming or whimsy!?

I've been a pie-man to the core ever since!

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

My, you're not only pretty but smart too!( Not that there was ever even a question of doubt!)applause

Exactly! Kinda like having head problems & thinking that new scenery/change of vista(not point of view) will make all the probs go away! Like F'ing up in Kansas & thinking moving to New Mexico will solve everything.

I salute your reasoning!wine handshake

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Actually, solid water has been detected on both the moon & mars.
Europa, one of Jupiters many moons is believed to have slushy ice or liquid water beneath it's icy surface. There's, evidently, quite a bit of water in our galaxy & quite probably as well most other galaxies.
Comets are giant dirty ice balls & thought to be one of the sources for water on this planet in it's early millenia.

Hydrogen is beleived to be the most abundant element in the universe.
Now it just takes a little O to make water with all that abundance of H

RE: Can we leave this planet someday?

Well if the planet & the rest of the inhabitants in this thin skinned
biosphere that we're slaughtering with our greed, hatred & in general
ignorance are lucky, yes we will!wine

RE: Wal-Mart to Sell Monsanto's GE Sweet Corn

I didn't watch this vid, but on the PBS show, yes they went to court & the little guys lost & lost BIG! Some spent all they had, even went into hock fighting it & still lost!
That's my point about it, if it's such an important proprietary thing for Monsanto then the onus should be on them to safe gaurd their precious GE Crap from getting to where anyone can get it. Or more correctly,so it can't pollute the crop of anyone who's unfortunate enough to have land next to monsantos land.
If you leave your diamonds out on the side walk & their gone in the morning, it's your own fault.
Sorry for getting way off topic, bottom line, no more corn from walmart!handshake

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Petting my hound dog buddy makes me relax & forget about everything else.

SHANTIwine

RE: Which one makes you escape reality for awhile and relax?

Are you positive that they are not real? Maybe you're standing in the doorway of this reality & another serparate reality. Kinda partway inbetween. Is this existence, the one we experience when "awake", the real one & our dreams just dreams? Or are our dreams the true reality & this one illusion? Or is TRUE reality something you find, in between, while juggling 2 different views of "reality" ?

Eatmore! Eat more! Eat lots more!!!!wink

RE: Life

I'm gonna keep it short:

Just happened over the thread about Buddy.

When I saw the pic I remembered him. But couldn't place the name.

Now I remember, from texas to the islands & his pug.

How sad!!! What a loss of such a good soul!

I also remember his quitting smoking posts & counting the days it had been. Too bad there weren't sooooo many more!!!
