I believe the OP is referring to colony colapse disorder (CCD). They have suspected virus, nicotinic pesticides, bacteria. But they're still stumped so far (not very far) as to what it is. It may be us, it may not. I think bees navigate by flying at a certain angle to the sun, and their dances are in relation to angles to sun also. I'm not sure if microwaves would affect their direction perceiving abilities, I guess it's possible.
There are many other types of pollinators, but the honeybee is the 1 we rely on directly for mass pollinization of thousands of acres at a time. It would directly affect the mass food production industry big time,as well as prices.
Yes they have been hand pollinating on small orchards(under 30 acres) in China. On a large scale say thousands or even several hundred acres would require a massive amount of people. Considering the trees bloom for at most 2 weeks, that's a lot of flowers to tend to in a short amount of time.
I mentioned this the other day or yesterday, tracing the mitochdrial DNA( passed down from the female) researchers have found that we all go back to a single female from Africa about 100,000 years ago. So technically we all have African ancestry.
I watched a show on PBS television awhile back, it was about ancestry. They traced the roots of Oprah, Chris Rock, I think Morgan Freeman and several other celebrities(African) and they all had caucasian blood(genetics) also.
I mean, even 2 glasses of water setting next to each other for 100,000 years are bound to share a few molecules sooner or later.
The sooner we could all realise that we are all humans/earthlings and get over it, the sooner we could start focusing on something that is actually important.
