The human brain can react to situations under normal circumstances in one 5th of a second, me being a trained martial artist have increased my reaction time to one 3rd of a second over the past 31 yrs, not bad I would say..

And that my friend is what I am trying to do, as you can see.. good thread imo.. but there is however one thing I would like to bring to your attention... even though there are a lot of people on this site that can understand you when you speak, there are some that cannot, I noticed this in one of your other threads when a lady posted she wasn't as educated as everyone else in that particular thread.. So Barron, put thing in simple terms so that even those that don't have the vocabulary that you do can understand what you are saying.. don't get me wrong, I understand you perfectly well, but I am wise enough to know, that if I want to make a point, I do it in simple terms, so everyone reading gets a clear picture..

I believe an IQ can be increased.. what really makes a person intelligent then? Is it how much knowledge they Possess? Or the wisdom of how to use what they know?

Very good Lagoona, I think it's more like this though, Knowledge is intelligence, wisdom is knowing how to use that intelligence wisely..

So I believe the three should be Knowledge wisdom, and understanding

Hypothetical situation...

An intelligent person can think their way out of a situation, but a wise person will never allow thenselves to be in a situation that they have to think their way out of, which brings about understanding to know the difference..jmo

The Call That Never Comes

First the minutes pass
hours turn into days
week turn into months
time just slips away

A year has gone by now
a little older a little more gray
I so needed to hear your voice
but your call never came

I looked at myself in the mirror
peering into my soul
I began to realize
time is beginning to take it's toll

I take a deep breath
then let it out with a sigh
I try to remember back to past days
memories of happier times

Though those precious moments
may have been few
with each passing day
brings a hope renewed

If I am to be remembered
I hope the good out weighs the bad
I hope I lifted your spirits
on the days that you were sad

Looking out my window now
watching the sun as it sets
what a wonderful feeling it would be
if you were here in my arms to rest

You will always have a place
inside my heart my dear
I hope if you ever think of me
it will be because I brought a little cheer

I turn back and look at the phone
I pray now that it doesn't ring
because it breaks my heart to know
it won't be you calling me

ahhh, the good ol days.. that's great, I met a guy at one of my job sites that's into mixed martial arts, he does jujitsu, 3rd degree black belt.. him and I are going to train together.. we talked about eachothers arts, it will be fun.. hats off to you Bettis, keep the warriors code..

I am so sorry to hear of your loss my mother passed away Feb, 5th 2007, and I still grieve, but she lives on in and through me, GOD be with you...
