I moved back home to New Orleans... (Now I just have to open a second fitness studio here!) Oh... and I'm training & fostering deaf dogs these days too. I might be a tad busy.
Tell you what, add a truckload of the yummy business ... and throw in Sommer, too & you have a deal. I'll personally supply all the Kalashnikov needed & even hand deliver it.
Please send airfare & hotel money, though as I am currently out of the country handling the will of my father's estate & I can not gain access to funds until the banks settle the details. Send you bank info to: shesheister@bahoo.com
And I have to say... friendship, for better or worse friendships are what brings us together. We, the humans need our friendships. We crave them, we eat & sleep easier with them.
While I will on occasion put a few strongly worded posts out there, I tend to try to avoid certain threads, as well. I prefer to be able to go back to a thread later & read the latter posts, instead of looking for it & going... "now, what happened in there that it got pulled?"
I relate to the repetitive nature of many of the subjects. It use to annoy me mildly when I read another "Am I Hot" thread. The upside for me came when I saw familiar people... *mutters...goofballs... like Clayyer, Riya, Manolito, Diogenes, Mindful, Fallingman... and the list goes on... Their ongoing contributions... and those from many of us, make this little netlife quite a kick.
I have to completely agree. I, too love the global aspect of this group. Having grown up in another part of the world, I feel very comfortable with our little mix of personalities.
One thing I always enjoy reading are the endless posts of support when one of our members had a traumatic event happening to them. Just to know that there are people who took a split second to post support show me we have quality humans with us on CS.
With all the threads that focus on why people do negative things, let's take a second to think of the enjoyable things/people we find here in the CS forums. Perhaps if some of the newbies saw the potential fun to be had, they would feel more encouraged to jump in & join the group.
So... share some of your favorite points to the CS forums?
When a new member comes to this forum & sees all this bickering, territorial behavior & whining in general, it tends to be very close to real life... only when people have a "persona" instead of flesh face, they can take on as brazen an attitude as they please. Average persons are suddenly freed from consequence, because let's face it... getting kicked off a forums is NOT the end of the world. (Ohh gee... doesn't that create warm fuzzy bouts of happiness)
At one point, these forums were not as global as they are today. They ran well & when BS started up, it was squashed almost instantly. People laughed & no one cared about who your friends were. As the members became more diverse, so did the social issues. Suddenly, we had personalities from many different types of countries & misunderstandings eventually kicked in. The MODS had to make numerous reminder posts to keep people aware of this.
Today, this is the most globally diverse site for SINGLES TO SOCIALIZE & POTENTIALLY FIND A PARTNER. Some forget that just because someone hasn't found "the one", doesn't mean they can't interact with others online. Loudly commenting on a stranger's "looser" status is more in line with the behaviors the new members will not wish to be associated with. Can you blame them? I mean, kids did that crap in school. All jokes aside... doesn't anyone remember being taught : "If you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything"?
It could well be the core of one of the largest issues on this site. No one would get away with the same crap in a real world work place flapping their comments as harshly as they do online... yet here, they do it as if it were a contest to see who's piss goes further.
So, the next time a potentially cool newbie bolts, think back... did YOU say something that may have been taken badly? If so, do you care? If not, why?
Enjoy your online experience, but try not to diminish the enjoyment of others as a price for your own fun.
RE: A special offer for women
...yeah basically. There are signing commands and slightly different ways to discipline a deaf animal. It's actually kinda cool.
