Love songs for all you romantics.

Beautiful, thank you.

I´ve got all this lovely guitar music ringing in my ears, yours and Conrad´s.

I will definitely enjoy my trip.

Goodnight Ama.

RE: Who the Heck do you think you are?

Then don´t tap your foot and wait.

It is unlikely to happen. Be assertive girl!

RE: Who the Heck do you think you are?

I am Janis or Jan to family and close friend.

I am a mother to two wonderful grown up kids.

I am an ex wife to a nice man.....took me a while to get to that thought!

I am a good teacher to my students.

I am a loyal friend.

I am a traveller and a lover of different cultures.

I am a romantic, yet a realist now that I have reached middle-age.

I am a dreamer sometimes.

I am happy. I have a smile on my face every day.

I am me. That is good enough for me.

Love songs for all you romantics.

Sleep well Ama.

RE: Who do you find more appealing?

Not much of a choice for the guys I would have thought.

RE: what was the MAX AGE DIFFERENCE you had in your past relationships?

11 years older....too much, and 15 years younger...again too much.

It depends on the person though, and the level of their maturity, or immaturity if that´s what you are looking for.

I still want a little fun and silliness sometimes, I work damn hard all week in a professional environment, so I deserve it.

The much older man is a little too staid for me.

RE: We got married few hours ago

You have a sense of humour. Good on you!

Real names.

Perhaps this has been asked before, I don´t remember, but
what is your real name?

My name is Janis, but I´m Jan to my family and close friends.

When I learn peoples´ names here I´m often surprised, but I feel closer in some way.

RE: The First Impression

The first thing I notice is how he smells. I´m not into sweaty armpits at all!

Then his teeth, then his fingernails, then his clothes, then his shoes.

A man for me has to smell good, be scrupulously clean and dressed well.

One can learn a lot about a person from scruffy, scuffed shoes, dirty fingernails and a mouth full of missing or rotten teeth.

Speak gently

David Bates (1809 - 1870)

Speak gently! It is better by far
To rule by love, than fear
Speak gently let not harsh words mar
The good we might do here!

Speak gently! Love doth whisper low
The vows that true hearts bind;
And gently friendship's accents flow;
Affection's voice is kind.

Speak gently to the little child!
Its love be sure to gain;
Teach it in accents soft and mild:
It may not long remain.

Speak gently to the young, for they
Will have enough to bear
Pass through this life as best they may,
'Tis full of anxious care!

Speak gently to the aged one,
Grieve not the care-worn heart;
The sands of life are nearly run,
Let such in peace depart!

Speak gently, kindly, to the poor;
Let no harsh tone be heard;
They have enough they must endure,
Without an unkind word!

Speak gently to the erring—know,
They may have toiled in vain;
Perchance unkindness made them so;
Oh, win them back again!

Speak gently! He who gave his life
To bend man's stubborn will,
When elements were in fierce strife,
Said to them, "Peace, be still."

Speak gently!'tis a little thing
Dropped in the heart's deep well;
The good, the joy, which it may bring,
Eternity shall tell.

Michael Jackson RIP

RE: Pop Star Michael Jackson has died

I agree. But Lago I feel sad because I grew up with the man´s music and I love it. I don´t think about his personal life which is what the media is going to play with.

His passing is a sad and great loss to the music world , nothing more should be said or is of any consequence in my opinion.

With his brothers.

RE: Pop Star Michael Jackson has died

Sorry Uli, just read it again and realised you were being sarcastic.

teddybear

RE: Pop Star Michael Jackson has died

I agree.

I despair sometimes. sigh

RE: Pop Star Michael Jackson has died

Don´t be silly.

We haven´t been fobbed off at all by an imposter. If the stories are true, then regardless of what people may think about his personal life, his death is a great loss to music.

RE: The Smoking and Honesty Thread, cont...

Me too. However I still find it difficult in certain situations.

When will this go away? Maybe never? dunno

RE: Jukebox..part 1, 2, 3.....

Thanks Summer, I love Coldplay.

Here´s another.

RE: Poem about Jack Daniels...

laugh I´ve never tried Jack Daniels, not being a spirits drinker, but I´ve sent this to my brother who just loves it!

RE: Language Thread

That was fabulous! I loved it. Thanks Boban.

RE: how many countries have you visted? and which one was the best?

Really? I thought Malta was nice, but nowhere near as appealing as some other countries I´ve visited.

I didn´t mention my native home as you did...shame on me....England, and I do visit regularly.

Ireland is lovely too, though I haven´t been to Cork.

I just adore Edinburgh too.

I can´t explain the feeling I had when I first arrived in the Spanish city in which I now work and live. It was as if I had arrived home, and so I stayed. That was four years ago, and the feeling remains.

RE: how many countries have you visted? and which one was the best?

I´ve been fortunate enough to have travelled to many countries, both with my work, which means actually living in the country for a year or so, and many holidays over the years.

France
Germany
Belgium
Holland
Greece/Cyprus/Greek Islands
Italy
Sri Lanka
Gambia
Russia
Poland
Turkey
Portugal
India
Malta
Canary Islands
Brazil
Channel Islands
Egypt
Israel
Gibraltar

Spain has to be my favourite as it is the country I decided to finally settle in permanently, though I did take a year out to work and live in Russia last year. Turkey is a close second.

I still have a yearning to travel around South America.

By the way, the spelling of travelling and favourite is British English and not incorrect as an American members pointed out to another poster a few days ago.

Everywhere I´ve been has left me with wonderful memories.

Love songs for all you romantics.

thumbs up Lovely song
