How fabulous. I´ve never been, but my newly divorced, beautiful, 40 something mum visited her sister there way back in the late seventies and had the time of her life. I thought she was never going to return.
Smoke-free since 1st February after an adult lifetime of smoking, though not heavily, and with pauses when pregnant with my two gorgeous kids, who incidentally have never smoked.
It´s not easy, even now I reach out for a cigarette at times, but I will never smoke again, and I feel fantastic since I stopped.
I did it cold turkey, I think that´s the only successful way.
With regard to a potential partner, I wouldn´t want to be with a smoker at this time because I know that would weaken my resolve. However, I have no problem being around smokers, I live in Spain, most people still seem to smoke and there are not so many restrictions in bars and clubs.
My man doesn´t smoke so I´m ok and won´t be tempted to take it up again.
Oh Sommer you are so right, I had a year long relationship with a beautiful Turkish man. He could not get permission to travel to my country, England at that time, despite having his own business. We parted, in the main, because it was just so difficult to be together. I couldn´t afford to keep on paying out for visits to Turkey.
Look, I know there are guys there looking for a passport out of Turkey, but that wasn´t my experience. I didn´t want to live in Turkey and he couldn´t jack in his business and come to me.
Please don´t think that every guy in Turkey, or wherever is looking for a passport. But, be cautious.
James, nought and nowt both mean nothing, but Sommer used nowt in the correct British English context. Nought and nowt are pronounced differently, nought is zero...pronounced nort.
Hush my my mouth!
Did that make sense? Teachers need a real live audience to get their point across really.
It probably wouldn´t be something that a date would mention initially...maybe not for some time into the relationship, by which time you may have formed only a positive opinion and could forgive past misdemeanours.
A "mild run in" wouldn´t be a problem I don´t think, depending on the person, and the crime involved. Are we talking about parking tickets here? However, serious offenders, and again this also depends on the person and the crime, should always be a red flag in my opinion.
I have never been involved with any type of run in with the law, nor my family, so in all honesty it would be quite difficult for me personally.
RE: Who is dating who here in CS?
Me.Well long distance dating, but it´s fine for now. Daily chats, voice heard, gorgeous by the way, face seen virtue of webcam.
We´ll see.
Hi Tom.
