I keep reading this Imma intending to respond, but I needed to think about it.
As for many people, I suppose I am a healthy mix, with the exception of the logical-mathematical and visual-spatial categories.
Like you, I use body language a lot when I´m teaching. I try not to use Spanish at all in class, so with the lower level English students it´s necessary to act out new vocabulary or grammatical structures. I always throw my arms back to indicate the use of past simple tense for example. Sometimes I´m absolutely exhausted after a beginner class!
Musical is also a very strong category for me I believe.
I´ve never done it because my work is simply that, work, not play. It may surprise you, but I am very professional and I never mix business with pleasure.
The reason I asked was because an ex student, far too young I may add, has contacted me via FB. Not a huge surprise to me, but uncomfortable.
I seriously believe the two don´t mix, but I teach English to adults so occasionally there are problems.
None of my students have ever blatantly come on to me because usually I teach groups and I am very professional, keeping a distance which makes it difficult for anybody to flirt openly.
However, sometimes I teach on a one-to-one basis and the classtoom dynamic is naturally different. This is when it gets tricky at times.
What are your opinions about getting involved in this situation?
I know what I think, but I´m interested in other views.
I´m a touchy feely person and have no problem with open affection in public, I love it.
If I´m with someone I love, I want to touch him, whether it is simply a stroke of the cheek or a light kiss on the cheek, but groping or tongues down throats are best in private....at my age anyway.
RE: Groups - a new category on CS
It could be interesting. I would join your travel group ven.I was also thinking that maybe people with the same or similar jobs could exchange ideas.
