World's Richest woman

you can say that again

Favourite Female Singer

Amy does have a unique voice, such a shame to lose her

RE: Drugs transcend all levels of society.

Alcohol is by far the worst drug of them all costing everyone the most in lives lost, families damaged and emergency ward beds.

Favourite Female Singer

It's a tough one as Adele and Amy Winehouse have such good voices but I'm still stuck on Aretha's voice, so powerful.

Why aren't our Super Funds buying up the farm?????

And you found yourself here in our company. Well the things that obscure our judgements sometimes cloud our vision with what is before our very eyes.
I'm not affraid of international investment, I just wish some of our super funds were used to invest in our resource, land rich country, maybe that way they wouldn't have got slugged as hard as they did during the GFC?confused

RE: love and contentment.

Love will win over diversity

RE: nirvana

Who knows?
Not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

RE: nirvana

What else could I say
Everyone is gay
What else could I write
I don't have the right
What else should I be
All apologies

I wish I was like you
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame

Why aren't our Super Funds buying up the farm?????

We have every other country buying up square kilometre tracts of land dirt cheap when our own superanuation funds cand see the dirt below their own feat is a gold mine waiting to be developed instead choosing international shares and bonds.

RE: How would you feel?

like putting a target on your head

RE: Tutorgirlthe2nd's bundle of joy

Gorgeous bubby, believe me, the late nights are the easy part, wait til she hits teenager rolling on the floor laughing

RE: A Conversation with You

The total accomodation was like $5,000+ at $300 night, we were there in peak season apparently.
I know the Gordon river cruise cost us $560, the Cog Railway was like $500 with the bus fare to get us there.
Add the Spirit of Tas 2 cabins and putting the car on return and things start adding up.

RE: A Conversation with You

each night was like $300 in a onsite cabin, think Strahan was the most expensive followed by Beauty Point. Then there's the cruise up the Gordon, cog railway from Queenstown, Tree top flying foxes, etc, etc... when there are six to pay for, everything costs more.
The difference in Thailand is the accomodation would be in a hotel at $99 instead of $300, the tours and outings all are a fraction of the cost and food for peanuts of what it costs here.
It's no wonder our tourist sector is languishing at the moment over pricing itself out of the market.dunno

RE: A Conversation with You

It's good to live out in my wifes parents place and help them with their veggetable and rice fields, also helping them sell stuff at the local market.
Their pigs are lovely, they have unique personalities and let you know when they're hungry.
The riverside restaurants in bamboo huts where you sit on the bamboo mats are different, but the food is awesome.
Yes the people are all friendly and have the biggest smiles even if they have nothing in our sense of possessions, they have much more - happiness

RE: A Conversation with You

Try it with 4 kids and get back to me Curls

Do you pinch your pennies?

It's amazing how many coins you find under car seats.
The kids and I found $18.75 under the front bench seat of an ol' Falcon

Do you pinch your pennies?

noticed 50,000 DVD's, Blurays and CD's on ebay for $55,000 buy now.
Thinking about it.confused

RE: A Conversation with You

It cost me like $10,000 for a 3 week holiday in Tassie, $6,000 for a 4 week holiday in NZ and $1,500 for a 3 week holiday in Thailand travelling around and shopping too.

RE: I came, I seen and I commented! -.-

I notice the pic of my wife and I disapeared too, but the old one has popped up in its place

RE: TomKat's Divorce

I can't believe they've already reached a settlement. Seems Tom was trying to keep the Christian Science doods out of the media spotlight?confused

Australian movies

Funny how a movie about a fowl mouthed bear can beat kids movie revenue during the school holidays.

RE: Re: serenes randoms

Sounds a little risky, sometimes you have to take a risk to find out if they're the one

Do you pinch your pennies?

Aldi is my friend, having one across the road helps. I have Woolworths, Coles and IGA in town too, but since Aldi set up, my shopping bill has fallen big time

RE: A Conversation with You

Not to worry about the marbles, go for the tom bowlers.
Let the bullies of the world bash the crap out of you, they will always be losers, get over it and let the experience make you stronger, what doesn't kill you will.
Read Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Richest Man In Babylon and The Liver Cleansing Diet.
Buy shares in Rio Tinto, Fortesque, Apple and Microsoft
Never buy a brand new car, always buy 2nd hand under 100k's on the tacho
Buy deceased estates and list them online
Get your furniture and whitegoods from garage sales, let some other fool pay the new buyers premium
Holiday in Asia, stay away from those overpriced Australian tourist towns
Don't get health insurance, Medicare is good enough
Business with families and friends don't mix

RE: Ok anyone else work for cheapskates?

surely the money in the bank is the main worry these days as many other people will be job hunting soon with the building industry going into meltdown, it employs people in so many different sectors, not just the tradies.

RE: Ok anyone else work for cheapskates?

There's a beautiful coastline where I live Micky, when out walking into the reserves along it, you'll sometimes happen upon a little picnic in the middle of this peaceful environment, not a mowers or shovel in site

RE: Ok anyone else work for cheapskates?

It's no wonder people don't want to employ new workers, too many out to get all their lurks and perks. If sick leave is what you're after, maybe a council or public service job would be suit?dunno

RE: Un-operational

Are you aloud to use a gym ball Martia?

Do you pinch your pennies?

When I was on my own, I could make my dinner out of $1.50 each night.
A large supreme pizza from Aldi costs $3 and I used to split it over 3 nights with extra toppings like olives, sundried tomato, onion, capsicum and more mozzarella cheese.

A kilo of mince used to make 7 meals of bolanaise or chow mein to freeze for later on.

RE: Afghanistan the Graveyard of Supper Powers

We blame the US for the flooding, and droughts in Australia, ie: when it's dry and there are bush fires over in the US, we get flooding rains and then when it's flooding and wet in the US, we are in drought without rain and with huge bush fires.
ie: climate changerolling on the floor laughing
