Just had a guy along to quote on 16 new double-glazed windows (out of the 60+ in the villa)........... no cruise this year methinks! heck.......... even the pull-down flyscreens on some of the smaller windows cost enough to make my wallet weep!
I knew women should never have been allowed to learn how to read and write!
Take this place......the ladies should be busy cooking food and dealing with wailing infants while we guys chat on the internet about politics and religion and how good at cooking and being mothers our wives are!
My best friend lives near Murcia - at present she only flys out here from the UK (she has family in the UK and flights from the UK to Malta are cheap)............. maybe one of the cheapo airlines will soon start up flights from Murcia or Alicante to Malta - I sure hope so!
In 1918 the 'flu pandemic killed over 50 million people - more than in the world war to follow.
Nature's solution to all sorts of things.
I think a really good old-fashioned global pandemic would solve all sorts of problems - what a nice world this would be with say 50 million people on the planet instead of over 7 billion!
Just imagine if our technology survived!
Think about how much work we really need to do - a few thousand people could easily feed 50 million of us, we could travel on motorways without being bumper to bumper or having to worry about too much pollution.
We certainly think we are the top species on this planet and maybe we are in our ability to mold our environment to our will, but there are too many of us - really!
I don't want to go back to a hard rural life....... many advantages I am sure, but also many disadvantages.
I'd like a new world that embraced technology sensibly and enjoyed these benefits AND in a decent environment.
It's possible, but not with such a huge population.
We need to breathe; eventually we end up killing each other to start all over again unless dear old mother Nature does the job for us first.............. a really effective global pandemic that killed off a large percentage would be a real help to those who survive - people of all races and religions united in the grief they feel for the loss of many, many loved ones.
Nope - not so far............ but Ryan Air to cheapos from Valencia to Malta and a friend came over last year for 14.98 euros return including all taxes!
My mother is great with visitors and the perfect host!
'Robert........ get blah blah a drink!'
'Blah blah - would you like to stay for lunch?....Robert will cook you something'
'Blah Blah - oh, I'd like to get you a present - Robert go down to 'x' and buy 'y' for blah blah when the carers comein..it'll do you good to get out!'
She gets lots of visitors...... I think it's important for her to be able to chat to people so I encourage people to come and visit her........ I don't chat to her much as she doesn't talk to me really - just tells me what to get her as if I am just a servant.
I don't get visitors myself - maybe I'm just jealous of my mum!
It was a dark, but warm night.... no stars shone in the sky and Sir Rustin Grott was bored.
He ambled down to the dungeon and prodded a few of the prisoners with his favourite 'prodding stick'.......... a Swiss walking stick with a nice metal spike on the end of it then wandered back 'upstairs' and rang the bell for his butler.
It was 3.30 a.m.
Reggie, the butler, groaned as he heard the bell. Should he wait 5 minutes and risk angering Sir Rustin for his tardiness or go as quickly as possible? He decided on the middle path, as usual, and took five breaths before jumping out of bed to go and serve his master.
RE: Compassion group
Emailing a group member sounds logical.......
