And it came to pass that he who was asleep in bed and sucketh on his thumb saw a light in the darkness and he was afraid. And a voice rang in his head like when he had had too much to drink, but somehow different, and the voice said unto him:
'Be not afraid. Take up thy staff and thy thermometer and take it forth and press it up under people's armpits and under their tongues and even unto other places of great darkness and tell them:
'Look - you are alive........you have "temperature"!!!!'
and they shall be astounded and fall down before you and you shall tell them that they are now 'Mercurialists' and then......'
I forget the rest, but can I make it up as I go along?
" 'I' am not a 'man' nor a 'woman' nor an 'it'....... 'I' am Life itself and 'I' did not create 'good' nor did 'I' create 'evil' - for Life is Life and some Life has to take of other Life to create more Life or merely to survive and as 'I' am Life then part of 'Me' dies to create more of 'Me' ad infinitum.
'I' am within you and without you, you know me and you can never know me. That is all."
I only once ever fancied a woman who fancied me but I didn't fancy her at first and for a long time after we met..............complicated, huh?
Can't talk for other men, but I know instantly if I find a woman attractive or not - and it doesn't matter if she is pulling up carrots in her back yard with her hair in a mess and her fingers covered in mud or if she is 'dressed up to kill' I just 'know' I fancy her and have to find out something to dislike before I consider changing my mind..................... but, the other way round, NOT finding somebody attractive at first - that takes a lot of time and hard work to find the beauty within and learn to appreciate things you don't instinctively find appealing.
You use your fingers, and then your toes, then the hairs on your head to count the women.........
then the hair on your head falls out and you lose count - simple!
Ladies and gentlemen don't need to keep track - all they need to know is if they are virgins or not, and if they don't know then they have a REAL problem!
Heck, you're already a 'regular' - like that 'newbie' Sommer was just a few weeks ago!
What's a regular anyway?
There are people who have been here for years who often don't post for months on end - I can name a few:
cherscic, brunette, Jacko, twinself, pseg, angie (angel something or other)........... and that's just six from from Malta alone who I've all met socially and are all alive and well as far as I know!
The only really 'regular' people I know are never constipated!¬
Your statement is false - honest people often find other honest people......... I believe your post is just designed to make people feel sorry for you.
He actually needs at least a decade to sort the mess out, but he hasn't got that long!
People will be making a judgement after just a year in office - that's way too short a time in my opinion............ give him at least 18 months to have implemented at least some of his plans let alone given them a chance to bear any fruit.
Quick term solutions won't work - his plans to invest in the infrastructure make more sense but will take at least three years to even spend a fraction of the money as roads and bridges and internet highways and new 'smart' power grids don't get built overnight!
Vinny - there are several types, logically, of CS members.
1. Some that are members but are not proactive in any way.
2. Some that email other CS members but never even look at forums let alone post in them!
3. Some that post loads in the forums but hardly ever email (myself for example).
4. Some that both post in forums and email lots of friends or potential friends.
5. Then some just use blogs or the chat facility.
I am 100% sure that only a very small minority of members actually post in public forums - there are tens and tens of thousands of member of whom only a few hundred post.
Some governments are helping firms to keep on employees, BUT once the recession/depression is over they'll have to be nimble of foot to reverse their policies and do a 'U turn' as keeping people in jobs inefficiently is a long-term hindrance to the creation of wealth and the aim of increased growth that the global economy feels is so vital.
I'm against perpetual growth - I think it ultimately conflicts with many of our basic values and will eventually destroy the lifestyle we now 'enjoy', but that's another story, another thread and the problem of the next generation to really tackle because those in power now have not yet 'seen the light'.
A Revelation
I need another revelation before I can answer that one!
