Meine Gott! It has rained ALL WEEK here in Germany, but only a little last night as we sat round a bonfire drinking gallons of gluwein and cooking some kind of evil wurst on sharpened sticks!
The gluwein was fine......... I just avoided drinking all but one (to be polite) of several evil looking German liqueurs..... they must have been strong drinks as those consuming them seemed very, very happy!
My son was brought up not to believe in religion - his mum hated the religious warfare in her own country.......
He seems a decent enough young man.
He enjoyed studying 'comparative religion' at school, but (if has any) he keeps his beliefs to himself.
As intelligent human beings I believe we should at some point in our lives question if there is any meaning to life.
For those who believe they have found an answer I am quite frankly jealous - like my father who read the bible every day for four years before he died I have little faith..........
and those that have faith believe, and those that believe 'know' they are right and have that emotional security that those of us who somehow can't accept blindly lack.........
To those that have faith - good for you!
To those who aren't sure - good luck, may you find answers to your questions!
For those who 'know' that God is an invention of mankind - please don't put down those who have faith, and those of us who don't know!
Your day will come.......one day you'll win the lottery and have your nails manicured, the hair waxed off your back and whatever make-up your heart desires!
My honest opinion is that Hell is being ignored by the one you love - and to ignore something you created in your own image must be hell for both parties!
In other words I'd be bold enough to speculate that real Hell for a 'real' Christian would be to know that his/her creator had turned his back on him/her forever!
I think there is lots of competition, but if you are good at what you do you'll find customers.
I was in the dentist a few months ago. I read a local magazine. It was all about architecture - some of the stuff was as good as anything on this planet.
Historically the Maltese were prepared to pay more for 'expert' foreign advice and expertise. Nowadays they have plenty of home-grown talent that is more confident of their abilities than previous generations.
However, if you are good at what you do and can find your own niche and you work hard and you don't get 'turned over' in some business deal - you have no reason not to be a success!
Lagoona's probably your man for advice.......... as he is the second best or best man in his particular niche market with many European customers......... Marti has loads of 'Tal Pepe' contacts, and I am totally useless!
I actually knew the definition but was 'acting' dumb (but whether I am dumb or not is subjective; surely lots of lovely CS people think I'm the dumbest thing since sliced spaghetti).............. incoporeal comes from the latin 'corpus' meaning 'body' (I would guess).
Strange subject, Latin...I studied latin from the age of 7 to 11, but can hardly remember any of it; however it seems to help quite often when you come across a new English word and can guess at its roots............
now Greek - I done neffer learned ancient Greek so if a word has a Greek root I'm more likely to be stuck!
Maybe, but it was there all the time but you didn't notice it 'cos it was just boring white light, and then it rained and the sun shone and before your eyes a magical rainbow appeared, and you knelt down and wept and cried out:
'Forgive me Lord, for I know not what I have done!'
Then a large teardrop of rain fell on your head and you felt a feeling of peace, and then she called from the kitchen:
'Oi! I told you dinner was ready ten minutes ago, you coming or what?'
And you smiled, and you got up, and you felt forgiven and you felt good - and you went inside and the food was good, and you ate it and you smiled at her and she wondered what was up with you..........
Love makes you want to sing and dance Love leaves you in a deep, deep trance Love hides away reality Love takes away the pain of being 'me' Love listens not to rhyme nor reason Love has its own particular season Love can linger, Love can last Love lives NOW, not in the past!
Thine ashes I'll place in an urn of gold That shall not succumb to grease nor mold I'll put thee upon the fireplace mantle - Lest not our love be put upon the shelf Of faint flickering embers..... No, my darling, my true love, You may turn to dust, or fertilser - But no-one alive shall 'ere be wiser!
We can take ourselves out of the reality of a situation to focus on realising a dream; for an artist this might be ignoring hunger and material things to get a painting finished........ the artist is making that image, that virtual reality in his mind become real.
Then there are giants among men (both good and evil) who dream a virtual reality world and make their dreams come true - conquering unexplored lands or outer space, or carving a 'new world order' via death and destruction.
Virtual reality can be both good and bad - making our dreams come true can be either 'Heaven on Earth' or a living nightmare!
One person may dream of true love and 'romance' and make that wonderful dream come true - another turn his or her virtual reality dream into some heinous crime when acted out in reality.
Lord, the line between being funny and in totally bad taste is so fine......... I felt terrible when I posted that just in case somebody read it who had someone close to them dying :(
