When I used to live in the UK I've heard a lot of cases where the man/woman had a marriage arrangement. Just for papers.If you live together for 3 years and pretend everything is ok anything can be faked. And then , what? Simply divorce. Nobody took your passport away.

Living somewhere doesn't mean that you are citizen of that country. He lives in Sweden but doesn't mean he's swedish. I use to live in UK but I am not british.
