A dark gray Volkswagen Beetle 1968 (with runner boards, parted rear window, flower vase on the dashboard, etc pp). Bought it for 600 USD in NY in 1980. So cool!
I made my driving licence on a gigantic AMC Sierra pick-up truck automatic. My little Beetle taught me how to drive a 4 gear shift stick car (with a choke pull even ).
The one I boiled, I decorated and I ate! Proper Easter Eggs. Not into the artificial chocolate stuff Now bunnies.... THAT'S a different story alltogether
In my younger years I ran through the lot of them. Hayfever (grass pollen) when I was 18 and from then on every year another kind of pollen added to the list. By 23 add apples, next year every kind of stone fruit. And that me, who loves fruits above all else (okay, except Suhsi ). By 29 I could add all nuts, especially hazelnuts and almonds, to the list. And finally soy meal, which lead to asthma. Now try to find any kind of prepared food like sauce mix, spice mix, soup, etc. without soy meal. Near impossible!
Luckily I had a good and unconventional GP who used me as a guniea pig over some years. For many years the anual autohemotherapy eased at least the hayfever. And then we discovered a special Aloe Vera drink (not the rubbish you can buy in shops or pharmacies). And what ya know, been free of the lot for 6 years now Can eat everything again and only once in a while will I have a sneezing bout when I didn't hoover for a time and it gets dusty
Found out a few years ago what triggered the whole thing..... fabric softener Wish I never laid eyes on the bloody stuff!
Yes, that what makes me wonder too Last year a colleague told me that some agencies keep jobs on the net even though the positions are long filled since. Now I know that's just hear-say, but still it's odd. Luckily I had only good experiences with agencies, but I can believe there are black sheep out there
Hmm.... I have a question about this. When I look at the job sites on the internet (County Clare in my case), there are lots of different jobs on offer. I sometimes wonder. Are these jobs real? Or fake? Or crap jobs?
Boredom? Can't remember rightly Sometimes I wish I had a bit of boredom. My life is just toooo busy and hectic (and I'm getting too old )
There's never enough hours in the day to get things done, to read the books I want to read, to meet friens, to write mails.... and to clean the bloody fireplace
Let's see .... I got married on 08.08.1980 in New York. Came back to Germany end of 1981. My son was born in 1983. That's the serious stuff.
Fun stuff:
Went out dancing Saturday nights once or twice a month and didn't come home before 6 a.m. Sunday morning The amount of weight I lost (or danced off) oh wow! hehehe
Saw Tina Turner in concert. Got my first company car. Managed to have 1 full time job (bilingual secretary), 2 part time jobs (cleaning), raised my son on my own, AND managed to go out dancing...Ah, those were the years! The amount of energy I had then is beyond me now
Still, some good memories. And some things I'd rather forget
