Was driving through Cavan town earlier today, nearly impossible to get through it, so we decided to stop and have a look at what was going on, not my type of music, but the town was buzzing, there was barely any room to walk down Main Street. But the craic was something else, just a pity we couldn't stay longer.
A couple of years ago my husband wanted us to buy one and travel around the world in it, this was before he knew he was ill, we never got round to buying one and travelling, maybe it wasn't meant to happen, sometimes I wish we had gone and done it. Fair play to you for living the life you want to live, I know the majority of us are caught up in the material things in life.
The people I'm referring to are the ones sit on their couches and eat takeaways a couple of times a week, and when doing their shopping fill the trolley with frozen food, bung it in the microwave and feed the family on it, instead of buying meat and fresh vegetables and eating a healthy meal. Or the couch potatoes who sit there complaining watching TV, instead of getting out and going for a walk and getting some exercise. I am not referring to those with eating disorders or psychological problems, in my professional life I have spent time with people with addictions, be it alcohol, drugs, food etc.. so I would be the last person to criticise anyone with problems, as I know how hard it is to overcome any form of addiction and I have such respect for those who do. If you thought I was being flippant I apologise, believe me I wasn't.
Ok with some people it can be down to genes and I shouldn't generalise, but the majority of people eat the wrong foods and too much of them, they eat too much fast food, processed foods, if people took more care of the foods they are putting into their bodies, take time out to go to the gym just a couple of times a week, or even power walk, which costs nothing. A healthier life style is usually all it takes. There was an add on the TV that said "My body is a temple" treat it as such.
Sure I'm only having a laugh MD, My folks are from Co Tipp, they came up to Dublin as soon as they got married, got the job and the house, they lived up here longer than they lived in Tipp, but don't ever call them Dubs, they still have no time for the Dubs though.
When i'm home i try to use the gym at least three times a week. That would be either working out or swimming. The pool usually has a few kids in it. What with it being holidays you'd expect it. But the gym is nearly always empty. Its not one of the bigger named gyms so maybe thats why. But all these people who are going to gym all the time. Dont know which one it is. I reckon they think it makes them look good. But with obesity becoming such a problem in this country. In my opinion its just greed and laziness that is causing it. If people just cut down on the rubbish they eat and work out a couple of times a week. Problem solved.
Ha ha. Sure its been like that since time began and its not only with regards to sport. Its everything to do with the big smoke. It was ok for the culchies to come up to dublin and get a job then go home at the weekend and work on the farm. They think we dubs have a superiority complex and that we reckon we are better than them. Hate to tell you but we are. Ha ha. Only kidding culchies are great. Sure where would we be without you.
