RE: Submit...submit...One of your poems!

I am back to say hello to all and post this prayer to you my dear friends on this site. I still think of you and wish you all well. Take care all of you. One note to Wed.....I have removed my face from my profile as I am no longer an active member here since I found what I wanted not because I am afraid to show my face....

My Lord, you know me inside out and therefore you know all my sins, imperfections and weaknesses. Maybe I have no right but I turn to you in this moment with an open heart and humbly ask You to take care of my friends always. Each one of them is a very special person with a golden heart. But I know You know them too since You created the masterpieces. They might pass through difficult times in thier lives or face serious uncomfortable situations. Give them the courage and the strength to pass through hard times that might surround them and make them aware of the constant affection of their families and friends. Nothing else matters as long as they will have Your protection. Bless them always and never let them out of Your sight. Amen

RE: describe freedom

Freedom is a many-faceted, positive term encompassing the ability to act consciously, in a well-balanced manner and with self control in a given constructive direction. It is often gauged by the degree of absence of external restraint or external control; however, the biggest restraints come from the self: ignorance, which leads to fear, then restraint; and (also rooted in ignorance) the lack of self control.

In the context of internal control, freedom is also known as self-determination, or autonomy. From a spiritual perspective, freedom may also be called inner peace; the presence of inner control, and an inner experience of choice, spontaneity and fulfillment.

The protection of interpersonal freedoms can be the object of a social and political investigation, while the metaphysical foundation of inner freedom is a philosophical and psychological question. Both forms of freedom come together in each individual as the internal and external values mesh together in a dynamic compromise and power struggle; the society fighting for power in defining the values of individuals and the individual fighting for societal acceptance and respect in establishing one's own values in it.

Spiritually, freedom encompasses the peaceful acceptance of reality. The theological question of freedom generally focuses on reconciling the experience or reality of inner freedom with the omnipotence of the divine.

RE: keeping fit

ok..just to give you a bit of background about myself. when I was 19 I was an amateur bodybuilder...weighed 74kgs with a 30 inch waist and 42 inch chest. then I went to University for my first degree and after five years I came out of Univesity weighing 125kgs! I started working and over the last 14 years my weight varied from 110kgs to the phenominal 137kgs that I was in Ocotber 2005 before I started going to the gym for the third time in these last 14 years...the result is that now I weigh 119kgs from 137kgs...body is more toned (my traget wieght is 100kgs now)...I do cardio exercises combined with body building or weight training. The body is getting back in shape with the muscles revamped again...its like the body has a memory of the time I used to train and the muscles react much faster...so I'm satisfied now...hence with 3 times a week gym sessions doing 30minutes cycling (I cover 10 kms) and weight training, I succeded to loose wieght, control the stress and normalise my blood pressure banana banana ...I encourage those who are thinking to make the choice.....its might be seem hard to keep fit espcially if you would go to the gym after work but its worthed for survival .....good luck!!

RE: why a name

that is truly upsetting I agree with you and I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately certain medical consultants loose 'touch' with a patient and he or she becomes just a number for them...so sad isn't it? doh

RE: why a name

excuse my spelling mistake above..I meant to say an infinite series...sorry!!

RE: why a name

Ok maybe I can contribute a bit here. When the world was smaller people were addressed using their first name followed by either what they do or who is their father...for example, in the UK it was John the baker...becoming eventually John Baker (name and the new concept of surname)....also John son of James....this concept is still used in most arab countries..infact the names there is usually the first name followed by a form of surname being either of whom he is the son.
Now there can be hundreds of John Baker right? so the next step to being unique is to actually have a unique number ...hence the identity number. Unfortuantely its the only guarantee of uniquness based on the fact that the combination of numbers can be an infinite serious so you will never run out of unique numbers.
In hospitals its even more important!thumbs up

RE: Define Love .. Amour ,, Amor .. Liebe.. Amore ,,

From the Holy Bible....

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:1-13)

RE: If you could meet some of the people from CS, whom would they be and why?

where there is a will there is a way wave anything you would require just ask....we take all kinds of credit cards...( not literally I mean lol) and the hotels are nice..much depends on the budget. I've been to France, Sweden, Austria, Holland, Italy, Greece, Germany and Italy...just to explain and with no disrespect to anyone on here ok...please..I repeat..no disrespect....as regards hotel categories, a 5-star hotel in the countries I mentioned would qualify as a 4-star hotel here in Malta. Just for you to have an idea of the quality. Just be careful though from 2-star and lower category hotels. Also there are furnished flats for short lets.head banger

RE: Thoughts For Today~~~

How many times have we said or thought:
"I didn't mean to hurt you"

Sometimes we hurt our loved ones and friends,
by being too hasty,
too outspoken,
too rough,
too insensitive.

Would it not be better to think twice?

RE: Who do you think built Stonehenge?

oh really smoky....I'm annoying ehhh? you didn't say that during the weekend at the party we had on the hula hula beachtongue

RE: Who is responsible?

she had made the wrong choices maybedoh

RE: Moral Dilemmas.

If you can prevent an earthquake, then you can do anything and that means you can also land the plane safely and save your friend as well...but as smoky said, since we are all earthly beings (not considering the fact that the ladies in here are celestial bodieswink ), then I would try to save my friend and hopefully myself too.

RE: Who is responsible?

RE: What is the purpose of the pyramids?

I think so too Yami....related to the concentration of that energy at the apex

RE: What is the purpose of the pyramids?

If one is able to reconstruct a model of a pyramid to perfection and say you put a plate with a piece of raw meat on it, it will not go bad!! this experiment was tried out and it work so there must be something more to pyramids.

RE: MIND THE WEDDING GAP????

In my personal opinion, regardless of what I've been through...I never regretted getting married. If it works out it fulfills a person's life beyond all expectations

RE: Submit...submit...One of your poems!

I laid my head on the pillow
cuddling it beneath my head
it scent was one of the sweetest
so I would rest so well
I gave her a name
and made her mine for keeps

and the sweetest pillow I had ever seenwink

RE: Submit...submit...One of your poems!

A Daisy for you
A daisy is a flower that's never sad...
it's always happy.... always glad.
It brings sunshine to a rainy day...
and takes away the awful grey.
A daisy is something never to let go...
it makes you feel special....
and your heart aglow....
So pick a daisy and hold it tight....
and your life will be filled with a meaningful light....

To all the ladies in here
