That is why Buddist monks spend time in solitude...so as NOT to be influenced. They are taught what characteristics are required by a monk and work to develop those thoughts to a higher level. jmo

I didnt see that doco Bubbles...

but did see another one years ago and have often thought of it over the years.....

While couples live by the one child rule they have work and housing....

disobey that rule and it is taken away from you...

the other thing that comes from all that is...

there is no longer an extended family structure....brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin are words which no longer exist.

The single child is spoilt rotten creating a society of overindulged individuals that no longer learn the art of sharing.

had the same thoughts but didnt know how to put it across..to me the word pairing would be..fat/skinny or curvy/slim..
Saw an interesting experiment on TV the other night...they had a curvy lady and a slim lady "accidentally" drop something on the pavement. Men generally ignored the curvy lady yet 98% of men stopped to pick up the item for the slim lady...

In all my years on CS have never seen a slim lady put up a thread on the weight issue ...maybe we are just more comfortable in our own skin without needing constant validation.

Just felt another small tremor at 7.20 am but only lasted about 3 seconds.

Kauri how do you live with that fear daily wondering when another one will hit?

A parents heart never really lets go...but it can toughen up and sometimes needs to for children to learn to take responsibility for their own life. It worries me that the BF parents are homeless as this may mean he also learnt little responsibility from his parents.
As far as the wedding goes I would say " ok here is the deal..we pay for a small intimate wedding for now and if you kids want a BIG wedding you can have that when you both can afford to pay for it.
