whoa thats deep... If my words could be paint properly I could sell for a royalty fee and get rich? Wow that would be impressive, and to think all I wanted was to leave an impression. LOL
I never said your .02 is not relevant? "your " being the women in the example LOL
"" Well...my main point is simply that *I* as an intellectual woman, am not particularly impressed by men who compliment me on my looks, that's all. Some women almost fall all over themselves when they get a compliment from a man about her looks. Others, like me, would prefer a man be more interested in getting to know me so that we can discuss intellectual matters, rather than how pretty I am... ""
And I respect you for that. and take it as you will..
Your tactfully yet charming ability to debate is rather appealing. Although I think we found a common agreement (LOL I think), I still commend your strategic contrive style.
But as someone with no intention to accept a complement as impressive, as I would have it no other way. Please take it as is.. with this I leave you my impression. See you on the forums ;)
to you are introduced by a mutual friend to an incredibly attractive and appealing aquaintance, they are just about to leave and you have 10 seconds to make a good impression - (less than 12 words) what do you say? confused
However, the original question was, what would you say to impress someone (or to make an impression upon them)?
.. um no it was not? LOL
She leaves.
he says "May I catch your name" hardly an attempt to impress her.
yet she walks a ways with an impression that he is kind.
now same with my example although its in my nature to be complementary .
you still walk away with an impression. Whether or not your impressed is irrelevant since it was never intended that way. But you still have an impression. I interned it to be a good one, but you so clearly put would not have felt so.
my intention was a good impression not to impress.
But ok your point is addressed, and although I don't agree its is fruitless to continue. LOL
although the two words impress and impression are similar they are different.
Leaving an impression does not mean the intent to be good, bad, memorable. Its just what one perceives of you in their mind. A bad impression is not impressive LOL.
when you say "may not impress her" you are implying a positive connotation. Also that she was deeply or markedly affected or influenced. Leaving a nice compliment is leaving the impression that I took the time to mention my name with a compliment. Although having no intent to impress her. I thinking impressing some one is left better to those trying to over do it, or being arrogant.
I normally will give a cheek kiss if I know you a bit, when we greet. and always a kiss if the date was good at the end. It's always easy for me to tell if she wants a kiss, but thus far every time the date was good the kiss was good.
I have gotten allot of ignore emails and I'm not taking here only, I don't mind. Look at it this way, you sent your mail.. If they don't have the respect to email you back either A) they don't care or B) the are testing you. Some people like to know they are wanted. For me I don't mind letting them know. But if it goes on too ling then its just a game. Personally If you email me and I email you back, you will get return emails, If for what ever reason you don't, I gone or dead LOL.
